1210142 tn?1266077031 The acid reflux is a big problem for me too. I am still tapering Pantoprazole but acid reflux is there and most likely caused by the multiple medications I am taking. I am taking Pantoprazole and all other medications in the morning/except the statin/, Plavix at noon and Ranitidine at night. Horrible coctail and there is no escape:) Please, let me know how your blood work went.
Avatar m tn At first my wife had urinary infection, few weeks later she started to have fever and stomach problems, the docter told her it was a gastroenteritis. I bought her omeprazole and gave her amoxicilline, that worked. She felt fine, but few weeks later she had urinary infection symptoms again. The doctor gave her antibiotics again, that helped her.
Avatar m tn hello cnoevl21, Thanks for your advice, today i feel a bit better. I'll continue taking omeprazole and I'm going to try probiotics while eating soup only. I hate having difficult swallowing, its hard to eat anything solid. Hopes this will work, its hard to see GI doctors. It takes weeks to make appointment and I need referral from my primary physician.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am looking for some advice... some gastrointestinal or anyone who have similar experience. Normally I don’t eat much or sometimes nothing in morning except tea or I drink lots of lots of water... 6 months back evening 7pm I took Turkish coffee which I never drink before in my life... This gave me like heart attack... chest burning and it was so strong that I had to call my friend who took me to hospital... doctor after examining gave me PANTOPRAZOLE 20MG to use before breakfast...
Avatar f tn The even after eating stomach-friendly food it got worse, especially in cold temperatures. When I went to urgent care I got omeprazole for acid int my stomach. This diagnosis was just based on the explanation of my symptoms. I got severe muscle cramps as side effects from that and went back to the urgent care and they gave me zantac instead. Still the same dosis of 2 /day. It all started end of June 2015.
Avatar m tn Wait a month and go on Protonix (Pantoprazole) and come back. What is the point? I have been on Omeprazole since September 2nd - over 7 weeks and the Endoscopy (done on 10/21) showed my tonsils are the size of grapes! Is that not any indication anti-acids are not working or solving my Dysphagia and swollen tonsils!? I was on Zegerid and probiotics(still taking them) for 3 months prior to September and still had the swollen tonsils.
Avatar f tn I should also mention that I had a clear colonoscopy which is great. However, the pain never really seemed to be lower- it's between my navel and rib cage often radiating to my back. The diarrhea is sticky and either black or grey and it burns. I tested negative for occult blood. Rarely with the dry heaving fits do I vomit, but when I do it is dark purple or greyish.
Avatar f tn You will need to take a combination of medications like a proton pump inhibitor such as omeprazole, lansoprazole or pantoprazole empty stomach in the morning and an antacid gel after meals for complete relief. Possibility of H pylori infection too should be looked into and a combination antibiotic tried. Life style changes that will help include: Avoid heavy meals and eat frequent small meals.
Avatar m tn The recommended treatment is 90 days use of an antiacid of the PPI class, ( Proton Pump Inhibitors ), like Omeprazole, ( Prilosec ), or Pantoprazole, ( Protonix ) for example, at low dose but TWICE a day BEFORE meals. Zantac, ( Ranitidine ) or otherantiacids of its class, ( H2 Blocker ), wont work well in the case of LPR. It is of extreme importance to visit an ENT speciallist to evaluate your throat, specially your vocal cords.

449683 tn?1211440372 In this condition acid reflux back in food pipe and irritates throat causing chronic cough. Drugs like omeprazole, pantoprazole etc are prescribed for 4- 6 weeks. Other rare possibility is round worm infestation, commonly seen in developing world. Thsi condition is diagnosed by stool test and drugs like albendazole are prescribed (single dose suffcient). Although, you have been through lot of investigations, could try for these too!.
Avatar f tn I am taking tagamet otc- Walmart generic brand and for me it is better than the rx ones- But that's just me....
Avatar f tn Is it your lymphnodes? Just regular throat? I've had an endoscopy done.. I've had nausea for a very long time, and I didn't have any issues. They do have a spray they can use, though. I didn't ask for it, but if you're worried, do so, or try to let the doctor know beforehand. You MIGHT have an infection that came from quitting smoking.

Avatar n tn The symptoms could be exacerbation of the GERD. Treatment is a combination of drugs to reduce the acid and lifestyle changes. You will need to take a combination of medications like a proton pump inhibitor such as omeprazole, lansoprazole or pantoprazole empty stomach in the morning and an antacid gel after meals for complete relief. Avatar m tn The pain which you suffered is probably due to some acute gastritis/peptic ulcer pain which typically occurs in the night and is usually associated with nausea. If you take some antacids/omeprazole/pantoprazole, you’ll be fine. Please consult gastroenterologist/physician and you may need an endoscopy in case the symptoms recur on regular basis, otherwise a short course of anti-ulcer drugs should be fine. I hope that helps. Please do keep me posted.

Avatar m tn m still afraid it can be that horrible reactivation, I also have H-pylori bacterium, small gallbladder polyps and reflux. Is it reasonable for me to get a Hep B blood panel done again or is it not as only 5 months passed from my previous tests? I did not take any chemotherapy or steroid drugs, only pantoprazole to treat my h-pylori and vitamin supplements. My GP said it cannot reactivate Hep B, at the same time he's not sure why I'm getting all those symptoms.
Avatar m tn http://digestive.niddk.nih.gov/ddiseases/pubs/barretts/index.ht I am making one such suggestion which you can follow and see. Omeprazole is a good drug to combat this. Along with it you can try over the counter antacids. Avoid heavy meals. Avoid too much of caffeine, tea, fried food and drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic fuzzy ones. Avoid heavy exercises within 4 hours of a heavy meal. Raise the head end of the bed or raise pillows to 30 degrees. Go to bed at least 2 hours after food.
