I cant wear a bra anymore coz my breast itches like mad where the lump is. There is also a discharge. My family is worried that it may be cancer. Trying to find out about getting an ultrasound asap but things are slow here and im deteriorating. Mother is serious about sending me back to England to so a specialist? What do I do? Hi i'm 21 years old overweight woman. I've been having a lump in my right armpit and it really hurts. The first time i found it was months ago and that time it burst and kinda gone but sometimes it would appear again in my armpit (but not on the same spot), sometimes in my left armpit. I've been using ichthyol cream and doesn't seem to make it all gone.
as for my breasts, I never felt any pain on my breast or find a lump.
should i be worried?

So I started researching and researching, I came across symptoms of breast cancer (lump in armpit, painful joint if it has spread...etc. ). I started getting health anxiety, checking my breast all the time and lo and behold my breast are lumpy, the left one seemed a little bit lumpier than the right, however, most lumps were still bilateral. My mind raced, lumps in the breast, thickened armpit, shoulder soreness...yup, I bet I have cancer.
hi im 41yr old female. i found a lump 3 weeks ago in my armpit it doesnt hurt, been to the doctors who has refered me to hospital for test as she doesnt know if its cancer or not just by feeing it. i go next wednesday. iv convinced myself that it is bad news, iv got no lumps anywhere else, doctor checked my breasts, im worried to death. my neck and shoulders are aching aswell but hopefully i think thats just tension and stress from worrying, iv got no history of breast cancer in the family.
ve been experiencing pain where the lump is and my nipple are scaling and peeling on that side. The lump is a lot larger than it was a couple of years ago. I do have fibroids all over my body, but this feels very different. When I sleep on my sides I feel the discomfort and have to switch positions. Laying on my left side and putting my right arm over my head the lump is very hard and large and noticeable. And I'm starting to worry that maybe I wasn't being so paranoid.
In this community, we are not necessarily medical professionals, but ladies with experience of brreast cancer. Most of the time, a sudden lump in your armpit is duer to something other than cancer, but it could still be a sign of infection or other problem. Making the decision to get it checked out is good. Is there a women's clinic in your area or a reduced-cost regular clinic?

The fact that you are concerned indicates that you are aware of changes in your body and would followup any changes that are not temporary (ie the lump persists and does not go away or becomes larger in size.) Even if the lump is there for a period of time and may grow in size, it is not necessarily indicative of breast cancer.
How old are you? Have you had a recent clinical breast exam by your primary physician?
Are you old enough to have started yearly mammogram screening?
I have a smaller lump in the top of my armpit ( if that location makes sense) it doesn't hurt nor is uncomfortable. But I worries me, I do have a cold so I'm not sure if it is a lymph node. What else could it be? Should I go see a doctor? And how should I ask my parents to see the doctor?
I have a lump in my armpit and I don't really know what it is or where is came from. I went to my doctor and he said that it was just a lump and it would go away in a few days. That was 3 weeks ago. It is still here. I don't know what to do but I hope you people can help me out just a bit.

Thank you for replying. The armpit area that has the lump in it is on my left side. The left side of my body has been giving me problems since about Thanksgiving. I get lots of dull aches and cramps in my arm, shoulder, ribs, back, neck an even my left jaw and left side of my head. It often runs down the back of my leg too. The lump made me immediately think of breast cancer but now I am wondering if all these pains are not common with breast cancer, then perhaps that not it.
s attached to the lump maybe that I have. The lump is prob about a half dollar size, kinda hard, stays put. The lump doesn't hurt but this pucker up skin does at the tender touch of it, or with my arm down. I had seen two doctors. The first one said Lymphadenopathy, and then I saw my dr and all she did was touch it and said it was a cyst... no xrays,u/s or anything and that was before the puckering happened.

I found a lump in my left armpit (lower part, close to the left breast) 4 months ago. The lump was swollen then and the doctor I've consulted gave me antibiotics that made the swelling go away. (I used to shave everyday and put on deodorants and I think I got the swelling from that.) The lump got smaller but still remained pea-sized which is still there up to now.
However, given that the pea sized lump did not go away, am I in risk for breast cancer?
I am a survivor of breast cancer. Five years ago I discovered a lump underneath my left armpit initially not painfull. Was diagnosed with breast cancer, I had a lumpectomy and 15 out of 24 lymph nodes were found to be cancerous and removed, chemo, rads & tamoxifen. I have now had a double mastectomy and re constructive surgery.
Recently over the past few weeks I have been experiencing a pain in the same area of my armpit it comes and goes with a general aching that lasts.
It is more likely that you are just having some pain in your armpit and breast area from fluctuating hormones from monthly cycles. It is very common for women to get pain in this area one week before, during, and sometimes even a week after their periods because of the extreme changes in homromes. Sometimes, a hormonal balance can be made by taking birth control pills.
The lump definately needs to be checked out. Go to your general dr. explain your family history and your worries.

Is the lump/bump only on the one armpit or both? Approx how big is it?
I think i have experienced this myself and i came to the conclusion that the lump or bump came after me shaving my arm pits and/or using too much anti-perspirant deodorant or even just holding it too close to your armpit when spraying. Your armpits are very sensitive, you may just have caused an irritation. Try and use a deodorant that is for sensitive skin.
This may explain the lump, however it may not explain why there is a discharge in the lump. Another plausible cause is the presence of an infection. This can present with a swollen lump and the discharge maybe purulent. This is usually treated with antibiotics. I suggest however, that you discuss all of these possibilities with your doctor and possible to have diagnostic procedures done such as mammogram or ultrasound just to make sure that you have nothing to worry about.
