Avatar m tn Did any of you know that allergies are being described now as autoimmunity? I am autoimmune in general, have never had allergies in my life!, and since my accident 4 yrs ago, have had a volcano of autoimmune and dysautonomic symptoms, including...sinus problems. Constant, thick, clear to cloudy(don't see much of the mucus as I swallow most of it after snorting it back to my throat) mucus ...esp at night, but goes on all day. 581909 tn?1218031547 I have always had a small battle with allergies and found clearing my throat more often after dairy products. After seeing an allergist, I found that ragweed was the killer. However, that's only in the fall. I caught the horrible flu that was going around. Fever, sinus name it. It started February 2nd, 2008 and even today (Aug 6th) I am clearing my throat constantly...mostly after I eat. My allergist said a prolonged drainage of phlegm can cause acid reflux.
Avatar m tn At the end of November of 2012 I started developing what I thought was a sinus issue that I get due to allergies 3 or 4 times a year. Symptoms have persisted off and on now for over three months.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO HAVE CELLULITIS BEHIND MY EYES...HAVING CHRONIC/SINUSITIS ALL THE TIME? 2012:sinus surgery, 20 doctors 5-6 hospitals, including New York's best.
Avatar f tn A good examination inside the nose with a camera might give the ENT more information as well as a CT scan of the sinuses. If it is a chronic sinus infection, 4-6 weeks of antibiotics are pretty standard in addition to nasal steroid sprays, oral steroids, and salt water irrigations of the sinuses. If this fails to solve the problem, sinus surgery is usually recommended. Regards.

Avatar n tn I had sinus allergy intermittently for about 50 years that gave me terrible headaches, 'stupid' brain (not thinking as well as normally), and tiredness. I never did have a sinus infection though, just allergy to pollen, dust, perfumes, cleaning products, etc. Antihistamines would lessen the swelling and congestion but did not help my thinking at all. I have solved this problem for the past 15 years by following the blood-type diet Eat Right 4 Your Type.
Avatar n tn ve learned to buy 100% grade pure cranberry juice in an organic food section, or health store. It is very sour so you might want to mix it half glass each with 100% cherry juice. Only use it, and no other sugar because the cherry has its own natural sugars the way it comes out of the jug. Mixed together and sip it away at least one glass a day, or if you can tolerate it, do one in morning and another afternoon. By third day for sure inflammation and infection starts to pass.
Avatar f tn My boyfriend is plagued with the same problems. He has even had sinus surgery twice and I DO NOT recommend that you do that because it sounds like you have allergy problems. My boyfriend had his septum straightened, which helps him breathe, but the sinus opening and scrapping did not help him because his problem is allergies. That sounds like your issue too. You really need to get an allergy test at the Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) doctor.
1152061 tn?1262040956 Sore throats can mean many things. Your post is so incredibly basic for a post to allergy forum, that you probably believe you have allergies, and you may very well have them. Only way to know is to get the tests.
Avatar f tn For 15 or more years, I've alwayas had what I believe to be sinus infections. Right now I am suffering from clear constant/drip runny nose, sore throat, mild cough, pain and pressure in my face and ears. My throat, nose, ears and eyes are also itchy. my nose is completely plugged. i don't have a fever now and never get them. Anyway, when I feel like this (usually about 4 x's a year) I go to an urgent care.
Avatar n tn I always get colds in the winter sometimes as many as 6 times a year and the symptoms are really heavy I think this condition or whatever it is, is the the cause.I have been to 4 doctors so far but nothing one even gave me cortisone pills. It was OK when I was taking them but after that the same again. I am a teacher and the cough disturbs my work. I am at my whits end at the moment. Is there anyone who could help me?
Avatar f tn Clariton is an antihistamine that has something in it to keep you from getting drowsy (antihistamines normally make you sleepy and can be used for insomnia). I suspect it is the additive in the Clariton that gave you the headache. Some people react badly to it. If you want to try a standard antihistamine get Benadryl. If your symptoms go away then you know it is an allergy and not an infection. If it doesn't work, go to a doctor.
Avatar f tn I have allergy and don't know what to take for it... those any one know what I can take...
Avatar m tn Hi, welcome to the forum, sometimes it becomes quiet difficult to control sinusitis and symptoms continue to bother. Yes, such long term symptoms are usually seen when it is associated with allergy. If it is allergy then it cannot be cured but it can be controlled. Allergic rhinosinusitis is predominantly seen in young adults (20-25 yrs of age). This happens as soon one is exposed to allergen.
Avatar f tn Hi, your symptoms are suggestive of rhinosinusitis (ARS) which is a symptomatic inflammation of the nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses. Allergy is a strong possibility. There may be a viral infection associated with the allergy. Firstly you need to undergo thorough physical examination; the blind swab or Endoscopic or sinus aspirate can be cultured to rule out secondary bacterial infection. Plain sinus films and sinus CT may show sinus fluid levels if present.
726784 tn?1301815302 Hi, the possibilities of recurrent attack of common cold are Allergic or seasonal rhinitis, Bacterial pharyngitis or tonsillitis, Sinusitis, Influenza etc. It is very important to point out the source of infection. This feeling of lump or something there in the throat is known as Globus sensation. This is mainly seen in gastro esophageal reflex disease or hyperplastic tonsil. You should stop taking spicy food, vinegar, alcohol, cigarette smoking if present.
Avatar m tn It could be a sinus infection. Or possibly some winter allergies. I would recommend maybe scheduling an allergy test or request some antibiotics.
1392153 tn?1428624323 When a person has a cough for 6 months and the doctor says its sinus and basically nothing is being done for it...phlem is coughed up on a daily basis..nothing in chest xray...visual throat inspection reveils nothing it normal to keep coughing day and night like this?
Avatar f tn t handle beer greasy foods or anything I ingest unless it is fresh or bland which well is not a animal allergy and something new its kind of weird good for weight i would think in future & healthy but just weird I can't handle foods now with out feeling inflammed now. I try to allergy proof my room the best I can for the dog. I dont know what else to do. So today I wanted to clean my ears and put peroxide in them not as much wax came out like I wish when a doctor once did it.
Avatar n tn I have had what was told a cyst for several years right beside my nose (interior) Feels like it is in my sinuses. It kinda felt like a BB. Just recently it has started growing now it about the size of a quarter but not quite round. It is starting to block my air through that side of my nose. My Dr had said when it was small not to worry about it. ShouldI worry now? Thank you.
Avatar n tn I do have two dogs that sometimes lay on my sofas but this did not start until a few years ago and I have not had pet allergies before. Can allergies develop later in life? My concern is, if this is not allergies, what is it?
