I had brown discharge for 5 days before my last period...I had a normal period. It came when it was souppose to and lasted the usual length. The brown discharge was kinda heavy and very dark. My next period is due in 15 days. I had protected sex a few weeks before this happened,and had protected sex 2 nights prior to the brown discharge starting. After the last time I had sex I took 2 of my birth control pills that I had missed,I didn't know if that could have messed up my hormonal balances?

My husband picked it up for me and the lady told him that when I first take it, that I will see brown discharge but its normal??? Idk if I should call my nurse line but they close @5. It does sound like the early starts of your periods coming on. Brown discharge is menstrual fluid that has stayed in the uterus for a little while before coming out. A lot of women who have regular periods have brown on their first day and then red after that, but a lot of girls just beginning their periods have couple of months of just some light discharge that is brown, only. You're on track.

That is your normal cycle. The cycle changes and so does the hormones changing the type of discharge. The clear egg white stringy thick and sticky is when you have ovulated. You might like to keep a chart and you will notice very soon, that your cycle is telling you when you are about to have a period or ovulate. This is used by many women as a birth control method, (not 100% reliable if you have only just started learning!
If I understand correctly, you have had three fairly normal periods since the cyst was removed but this latest one was preceded by some brown discharge and then a very short bleed 2 days later. The brown discharge is likely just some old blood that did not get shed with your prior period. This is not unusual. And I wouldn't worry that you didn't get a full period.
Brown discharge that does not have a foul odor is common in girls that have just started to menstruate. It is also common right before and/or after your period.
