If you are really worried go to labor & delivery next time the contractions start. Have you been checked to see if you've dilated any?

i had irregular contractions with my first..there was no pattern at all..but it got more and more painful (until i was making a hell of a lot of noise lol) was 10cms when i got to hospital..it was almost too late..just incase go off the pain intensity..
You could very well be having true labor contractions. BH contractions are irregular and don't happen often. If you feel more then 5 in an hr you could be in labor. Im only 32wks thought I was having BH contractions but they are actually preterm labor contractions. My doc wants me resting so I don't go into labor. Be careful and give your doc a call good luck!

Some women describe contractions as strong menstrual cramps. Unlike false labor contractions or Braxton Hicks contractions, true labor contractions do not stop when you change your position or relax. Although the contractions may be uncomfortable, you will be able to relax in between contractions.

Before "true" labor begins, you may have "false" labor pains, also known as Braxton Hicks contractions.
You will not go into labor with irregular contractions. Trust me they will be consistent back to back. Your irregular contractions are real but you are not in active labor yet. These contractions are getting your body ready and helping you dilate. They can go from irregular to regular tho. So just time them. From the start of a contraction to the start of the next one. Not start to end. Hope that helps!
Because I have brown discharge the Dr said my contractions are doing the work needed to dilate. If u have the pain like really bad poo pains and you drink water and change position and it still hurts then its the start.
I'm sure it will get worse before she is born.

I have been having alot of contractions for about 2 weeks now. I'm 36 weeks 5 days today. I was worried and went in for a visit. Dr said that any contractions now that are irregular is a good sign that I won't have a long labor. Basically my body and baby are doing things that it won't have to during active labor. I was not dilated at all, but my cervix is thinning already. Your mucus plug can start to loosen for weeks before delivery and sometimes even regrow.
Hi. I'm 39 weeks and 2 days. I've been having irregular painful contractions for a couple of hours. It's not super painful. Most of the pain is in my back. The pain has gotten worse since they began. The timing is inconsiderate though. I've walked, laid down, sat up. Are they probably braxton hicks contractions or possibly real? Advice?

With my first son I had prodromal labor for about 3 weeks before my water broke, when I switched over to active labor it went very quickly. I'm 28 weeks with my second and the prodromal labor has started, this time it's all back contractions which are so much more painful. I'm nervous because it is starting so early this time and I don't want to have my peanut early.
I was having bad cramps (felt like menstrual cramps) at 35 weeks and I went to the hospital and they told me they were irregular contractions and that I was in threatened preterm labor. My doctor told me to take it easy. If they get unbearable where you can't talk through them then go to l&d.
