Ipratropium nebulizer

Common Questions and Answers about Ipratropium nebulizer

atrovent

Avatar n tn hi, my question is can we mix albuterol, ipratropium, pulmacort together and the order is give these medication together by nebulizer.
Avatar f tn I purchased the Omron Portable Ultrasonic Nebulizer and am using the vials of Albuterol and Ipratropium. I can only use 1/2 vial because more than that speeds my heart up too much. Can I save the last 1/2 of the vial for later use? Does anybody know of a more affordable way to get the medicine I need? I am paying out of pocket and this economy gets harder every day it seems like.
Avatar n tn Xopenx 1.25 mg and Ipratropium Bromide 0.02%.
Avatar n tn I am using Duoneb with nebulizer 5 or 6 times a day. Also I just started Spiriva one time a day. I have started having a very tight feeling in my chest. I feel it is beause the two meds are contraindicated. If this is true, how may I wean from the Duoneb? My family physician has diagnosed me as having COPD. Thank you.
Avatar f tn I use Duoneb which is a combination of albuterol and ipratropium. You are making me wonder if I can manage with ipratropium alone. I have never tried it. I will ask my lung doctor. I use a portable nebulizer. With that I can take as little as I need (or as much).
Avatar f tn The only prescription medication I use now is Duoneb (albuterol and ipratropium) in a nebulizer. I use about two ampules a day. I do not use a rescue inhaler. Instead I have a small, portable nebulizer. It is so small that it fits into my purse. The advantage is that I can take as little as I need, sometimes just a few puffs. It is made by Omron and costs about $200. It is worth every cent.
1507301 tn?1289936394 I use a nebulizer (albuterol and ipratropium), and take natural anti-inflammatories and an antihistamine for allergies. If you get a peak flow meter you will be able to assess your condition (not the infection, of course) and your progress, or lack thereof.
Avatar n tn P.S. Albuterol, if you are using it, is drying. That is another reason for using a mucolytic. I use an albuterol combination in a nebulizer. I can't do without it, but the B5 reverses the drying.
Avatar n tn Now comes the hard part. How to get rid of the film? You need an electrical nebulizer immediately. And you need your physician to prescribe TWO solutions. Ipratropium Bromide inhalation solution .02 (0.5 mg/vial) and Albuterol Sulfate Inhalation solution (O.83%). There are severalissues. You will eventually acustum yourself to these solutions and they will stop working. You should have at least two weeks.Probably months, but at least two weeks before this happens.
Avatar f tn I would like to ask if the ipratropium inhaler is available with the combination of salbutamol and what brand?
Avatar f tn Sinusitis, chronic bronchitis then COPD. All because doctors refused to treat the sinusitis. Because of this I can't afford the meds that are the staple of COPD treatment. But it did lead me into an alternative that works better and with less side effects. Benadryl works on the same principle as does ipratropium but I have never been told to use it. I can't tolerate Advair (causes angina) nor Albuterol (causes worse congestion and coughing).
Avatar f tn Thanks...I'm glad you mentioned the nebulizer because I checked, and I already have some of the ipratropium bromide. I've been using it at night before bed. It seems to help some. I don't remember what the doctor told me about my thyroid - I could go back and check the paperwork. I do know that they only did the one test because my doctor said it came back "normal" so the other test wasn't necessary. Thoughts?
Avatar f tn so she told me to continue using my inhaler and nebulizer and she extended my montelukast treatment. so i did what she told me i kinda felt better i guess it's because of the xray result so i don't really notice how tired my body and my mind and my breathing was becoming. i was already sick for seven weeks when i started feeling tired and bad and i was crying cause i felt like i was not getting better so i visited my fathers Friend Dr. she the prescribed prednisone for 5 days 2x a day.
Avatar f tn Medications such as asthalin, trebutaline, steroids, ipratropium bromide, and chromolyn sodium can be tried. Please consult a doctor immediately. Take care!
757137 tn?1347196453 Side effects are restlessness, irritability and nervousness. Ipratropium blocks the effect of acetylcholine on airways (bronchi) and nasal passages. This is used as an alternative to Albuterol if the side effects are severe with Albuterol. This could also be used in conjunction with Albuterol, to relieve acute flare ups of Asthma. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn I know a lot of people that prefer and use a nebulizer over an inhaler. I prefer the nebulizer. My doctor has me using the neb more than an inhaler. I am to use my inhaler only when I absolutely cannot use my neb or for very minor issues. Personally, I find it is MUCH more effective. The nebulizer produces a much finer mist than what comes out of an inhaler enabling it to get deeper into the lungs.
Avatar m tn nasal sprays (dymista, Ipratropium Bromide), singulair, sudafed, benedryl, various antibiotics. My pcp said I had a sinus infection, but my ent says that's bs and I'm just overcongested. I just want my life back. I'd like to go to bed without fearing the awful feeling that morning brings.
889551 tn?1416184483 Lexi will be 9 months on the 9th and we just found out that she has asthma. I had it as a child and so did my brother. DH's brother and his daughter also had/have it. It was something that we had kept an eye out for because her pediatrician said that she was at increased risk to develop it. We had to special order a chamber/mask for her inhaler (flovent) because the pharmacies don't stock them.
Avatar n tn He prescribed Albuterol, ipratropium bromide, antibiotics, and an expectorant and cough supressant. He also sent me to the hospital for a chest-xray and blood tests. Ten days later I went back to see him for a followup and my breathing was much better after the Nebulizer use, but I was still having random chest pains. The chest x-ray showed borderline hyperinflation and my doctor explained to me this meant COPD.
1154802 tn?1266485720 If by inhaler you mean the dose measured albuterol, I would say use albuterol in a nebulizer instead. The reason I prefer the nebulizer is that you can use as little as you need since it is not measured. I have a small portable nebulizer (slightly bigger than a cell phone) which I take everywhere with me. As far as effictiveness is concerned, albuterol is albuterol no matter how you take it. I got off the inhaled steroids because they were killing me (literally).
Avatar n tn There is a small possibility that you are allergic to the ipratropium bromide (Atrovent), which is one of the two components of Combivent. The other component is albuterol. Strange as it may seem, ipratropium bromide is made from PEANUTS, one of the foods that almost every asthmatic is allergic to. I am allergic to peanuts, but my combivent helps my asthma. No asthma medication will give long-lasting relief, if you are still exposing yourself to the trigger or triggers that are making you sick.
Avatar f tn I cough a lot anymore to the point I can hardly breath. I am on inhalers, steroids, antibiotics and a nebulizer. The nebulizer helps most of all back can only take it 4 times a day. Should I be worried?
Avatar f tn Phill, the nebulizer just delivers the albuterol in a better form, doesn't it? It's still albuterol? If your doc knows you're on that, it sounds like it would probably be safe to take. Do you have an after hours nurse you could call to confirm that? If you can't get your breathing under control and you feel like you can't catch your breath it's an emergency situation - you can always go to the ER and they will treat you right away. Best wishes with it.
Avatar n tn My son is taking albuterol through the nebulizer. He is having nose bleeds Is this common?
Avatar f tn My OB is perfectly fine with me using my nebulizer and inhaler, but always ask your OB. If you can't breathe, neither can your baby.
Avatar n tn s possible to have bronchitis and not cough at all). He ordered a chest x-ray, blood tests, and prescribed Amoxicillin/Clav and nebulizer treatments 4x day with Albuterol + Ipratropium bromide. When I returned 10 days later, my shortness of breath was much better, but I still had the occasional chest pain. He said the x-ray showed "borderline hyperinflation of the lungs" and said this indicated the onset of COPD (never been diagnosed with asthma, but never seen a pulmonologist).
