973741 tn?1342342773 I do a lot of exercise classes and they are mostly interval types of classes but think I can do this at home, right? If you have any ideas of where to find a peak 8 work out for a mom like me, that would be great. I will work out some of my own and do more research but since you recommended it, was wondering if you had thoughts on best things to do--- things like jump squats for an interval, etc. ??

Avatar n tn When I got to the gym part of my workout routine includes running for 1 hour on the treadmill.I read in Men's Health magazine that doing intervals (for example:run at 6mph for 2 minutes then run at 3mph or rest for 2 minutes) will be more effective in losing weight than if I ran or walked at a steady pace.Is there any truth to this>?
897494 tn?1267476064 I recently started a routine that involves of lifting 10 lb weight 5 sets of 1 90 second reps, followed by 20 min of interval cardio on an eliptical machine, 60-90 sec. running, 60 sec. rest, then I move on to more weights, and leg press, then to the treadmill for another 20 min interval cardio workout, using the same time routine as the eliptical workout.
Avatar n tn m 17 weeks into an exercise program to recover from being pretty deconditioned. Starting out with 10 minute walks, and now I walk 30 minutes or go 20 minutes on my elliptical trainer every day. My resting heart rate has dropped from mid 80s to low 70s, and anxiety or mild exertion doesn't send my heart rate above 100 like it used to. But the last couple weeks, I've noticed that my heart rate has been going up more rapidly on the elliptical trainer.
Avatar f tn Now I am wondering if I should do my evening workout eg. Cardio-12mins, exercise using elliptical machine-20mins or butt workouts-5mins-8mins. I admit I feel so lazy and just tired after work and I always ended in the kitchen for dinner around 5.45-6pm. And I will go to bed by 10pm as I have to wake up at 4.30-5am. I wish to hear anyone's advise regarding my workout routine! Thanks!
Avatar f tn I do Zumba on a daily basis. Dancing is just so much more fun than getting on the treadmill or elliptical.
Avatar f tn When choosing exercise type, light, moderate or vigorous. Is that based on the exercise itself or how many times a week its done. Please let me know.
Avatar n tn I am male, 62, 33 BMI, cholesterol of 120 and LDL of 35 (yes), diagnosed with PVCs, passed a stress test last August, and 3 mos ago retired. I do cardio on an elliptical trainer 30-35 mins five times a week, starting at 140 steps/min and increasing by minute 30 to 190+. My heart rate starts at 78 and moves to 100 in 2-3 mins, but here's the problem: if I push my heart rate to over 120 in less than 10-15 mins, it jumps and registers 190 on the HR meter on the machine.

Avatar f tn I bought an elliptical strider, and am doing the 8 week loose weight program. I am so so tired after using it for 20 minutes that I have to lay down all day. IM 5 foot 8 inches and have put on 10 kilos in 8 weeks. I was 63 kilos now I'm 73 kilos. IM still by no means overweight and carry my weight nicely, so why am I so exhausted mentally, physically, and emotionally afterwards all day.
Avatar n tn For 15 min, followed by fast walking on 4.0 on the tree min for 15 min n bike on hills for 15 min. Then I start my weight training program. From squats free weight smith machine n other leg machines. Military presses, barbell well I do full body work outs. I did drop 10 lbs on my weight when I turned 27 weeks but just incase. But I feel great afterwards. I believe that is the main reason I really don't have major pains.
Avatar f tn I walk on the treadmill for 30 minute, cycle on a stationary bike for 20 minutes and I just added the elliptical machine for 10-20 minutes (depends on how long I walked on the treadmill as to how long I do the elliptical.) Yesterday I did all of the above and attended a yoga class. Not sure how long I will be able to do regular yoga cause some of the moves they do I'm not suppose to do.
1858556 tn?1319811692 my heart rate is between 125 - 130. Should I wait for it to come down before i start on a 30 minute workout on the weight machines the weights? If yes, how far down?
Avatar f tn I am trying to decide on a home exercise machine. I would like either and elliptical or a water rowing machine. I have researched both and tested out ellipticals. Rowing machines are a little harder to find. I know an elliptical will be good for cardio but will it also help build muscle?
