Avatar n tn I run alot. And when I run I get this sharp pain in my left knee, it kinda feels like It needs to crack, but it never does. Then when I put alot of weight onto my left leg my knee will start to hurt again. Is this serious? Or should I jus ignore it for now?
Avatar f tn The commonest cause of pain in the calf is DVT or deep vein thrombosis and clots and post exercise. Pain in the calf area can also be due to pinched spinal nerves in the lumbo-sacral area or a pinched nerve at the knee joint. A nerve conduction study should be done. A MRI of the lumbar spine should also be able to throw some light. A deep vein thrombophlebitis or intermittent claudication (spontaneous spasm and relaxation of arteries) can also cause similar symptoms.
Avatar f tn And now I can just be standing there and my knee feels like it is really loose and feels like I hyperextended in, the knee pushes back. How ling should I wait to go to the doctor or should I continue to try and heal it myself.
Avatar n tn Alright, I have this pain in my right side of my hip. The pain isn't really in my hip but it's a shooting pain from my hip to my knee. I only have the pain when I take weight off my right leg for about a minute or more or when I put all my weight on my right leg for about a minute or more. First it started off every once in a while, but now after a month the pain is every time I put/ take the weight off my right leg. It is not from my sciatic nerve.
Avatar m tn The diseased and thrombosed arteries go in spasm while walking or exercising, due to increased blood demand, there is reduced oxygen in muscles, and hence pain. Pain in the calf area can also be due to pinched spinal nerves in the lumbo-sacral area or a pinched nerve at the knee joint. A nerve conduction study should be done. A MRI of the lumbar spine should also be able to throw some light.
Avatar n tn I also noticed intermittent pain on top of my right knee. Again, there is no injury there and it is not joint pain. I am male, 50 yrs of age. This discussion is related to Heat Sensation Lower back area.
Avatar n tn I also have numbness and intermittent tingling on my right side running from my buttocks down to just below my right knee on the outer side of my leg. There is no pain, just numbness. My nurologist does not know what has caused the condition. Viagra / Cialis helps with an erection some of the time, but I can not maintain it to ejaculation. I can ejaculate by masterbating, but can only get a strong erection about 30% of the time. Morning erections are usually strong and lasting however.
Avatar m tn The other leg is perfectly fine in those positions, suffering from neither the stiffness nor the pain in those positions. There is never any swelling in the problem knee. I have some crepitis in both knees but have had this for 10 years with no pain (basically some crackling noise when going up stairs).
Avatar n tn The pain in the knee from staightening it out has returned. Has anyone else experienced this problem? What did you do for it? I love to train but I don't want to do any perminate damage. Suggestions? Thank you in advance.
Avatar f tn The numbness has eased up (for now) and I more frequently will experience intermittent quck, but intense pain in my toes/bottom of foot and other areas of my leg, left hand, upper chest and back. Muscle stiffness all up and down my left side. Intermittent pain and "weakness" around left knee/ankle and left hand/wrist. I typically feel just fine when I first wake up in the AM, and my symptoms creep up on me as the day goes on. I get fatigued very easily.
Avatar m tn sudden knee pain during pt and continued pain interior medial aspect. medic took xrays - all ok. Soft tissue issues. therapist can feel the popping of (muscle, ligament, tendon???) during flexion and extension. It feels like something has to pop over something else for leg to straighten. It hurts when it does. Occurs during weight-beating and non weight bearing. Therapist says muscle may be increasing in bulk but not stretching out causing other soft tissues??? to have to pop over them.
Avatar f tn Your child is not doing this as a joke nor does she have conscious control of it. The condition is called intermittent exotropia sometimes ingraciously called intermittent "wall-eyes". Ask your pediatrician to refer you to an ophthalmologist. This will require observation for the next 15 years or so to determine if glasses, patching, exercise, or surgery is indicated.
Avatar m tn It is now 5 weeks since i had a total knee replacement in my right leg, although i am getting reasonable flexibility about 110 degrees, and have just started walking tentatively without crutches i am still experiencing considerable pain but am grinding my teeth and sticking to my physio, my main concern is about a week ago i developed a click or clunk in the replaced joint at first it was intermittent but it is now every step, it is not a audible click/clunk more of the same feeling you get when
Avatar f tn once over it, and he said that he thought it was 1 of 2 things, either my knee cap was messed up or down in my knee was, My question is this, what will happen if I don't go to a doctor ( he told me some kind to go to but i forgot, and I currently have no insurance), and does anyone know what it could possibly be and what kind of doctor I need to see?
Avatar f tn Hi, About two years ago, I took a bad fall on a log over a creek in Alaska. I went down hard (I'm fat) and the outside of my left leg took the brunt of it. Since then, I have had intermittent severe pain behind the knee that hits and is gone in a flash. There is no warning when it's going to happen. I reach out blindly to grab something near me when the pain hits because it does cause me to feel as if I am about to stumble but I have never fallen from this.
Avatar n tn Dr> I have been having pain in both knees for several years now and I finally got around to getting x rays done. I need your help translating the results. I'm very concerned. Here are the results: IMPRESSION: 1.) Minor degenerative changes to left knee with trace effusion. 2.) Probable small cartilage lesion or infarct within distal left femur. 3.) Small intra-articular body adjacent to the medial facet of the patella. 4.) Degenerative changes to right knee.
Avatar m tn The pain initially began while I was hiking. I experienced intermittent sharp pains in my left knee that did not occur as a result of trauma. Then it became stiff and swollen. Unfortunately, I had to 3 miles back to the car, which really exacerbated the knee. After several weeks the pain subsided to the point that I could walk within a range of a quarter mile before I experienced more pain. After some more time passed I could walk about .5 to 1 miles.
Avatar n tn On February 23, 2009 I had surgery on my right knee, now four months later i am experiencing swelling of my left ankle with pain and redness which is moving up my leg to the lower part of my shin. What is causing this.
Avatar m tn There is an intense pain that occurs called retrosternal pain (pain in the middle of chest) and even in the upper back from the disorder. I actually choke and gag when I eat and at other times am fine. This is because the esophagus is moving and sometimes has stronger effects from the vessel that is compressing it. I suggest you get a second opinion and consult a cardiothoracic sugeon. I can say that anxiety is associated with this, but many times not so much mental but physical.
Avatar m tn I felt no discomfort then, but each day afterward for about a week I felt first pain on the lateral side of the knee, then the pain moved to the medial side of the knee, now the only discomfort is on the posterior portion of the knee in the soft tissue with my leg straight as I walk. It was bad enough last week that I was limping, (almost ready for a cane) but it was intermittent. What happened to my knee and what should I do to heal it and for how long?
