To date there have been no reports of an important interaction in humans between warfarin and clopidogrel. I have been on Coumadin for 18 years due to Lupus Anticoagulant (Antiphospholipid Syndrome) and several DVTs. In 2005 had MI with occlusion of the LAD artery and had drug stent inserted and I am still on plavix. My doc has debated when to take me off the Plavix safely....what are the recent studies about this dilemma? thanks so much!

You should contact your caregiver for advice regarding your medication as they would have your medical history, general health, etc. There is a noted drug interaction with Viagra and warfarin in certain patients. In patients who have pulmonary hypertension, there is an increased risk of bleeding when taking these medications together, etc..

There is no interaction between Alli (Orlistat) and oral contraceptive pills. The only listed interactions Orlistat has with other medications is a heart rhythm control medication known as Amiodarone, a thyroid medication known as Levothyroxine, Fat soluble vitamins, and the blood thinner known as Warfarin. Additionally, if you have taken Orlistat and oral contraceptive pills before with no changes the likelihood of the combination having an effect on your cycle this month is very small.
Pradaxa is taken twice a day, shorter life in the body and is cleared from the body quicker than coumadin (warfarin). With warfarin, Vitamin K is used to reverse overanticoagulation in patients, there is no antidote for Pradaxa. Warfarin a lot cheaper than Pradaxa.

According to some studies, fish oil supplements may elevate the international normalised ratio (INR) of people taking warfarin. and may provide additional anticoagulamt effect. Fish oil, an omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid, may affect platelet aggregation and/or vitamin K-dependent coagulation factors. The exact mechanism of interaction is unknown and further tests may need to be done.
She also has uterine fibroids that have been giving her problems, even more so since the warfarin. Between the uterine fibroids and the warfarin, her menses are extremely heavy. During those times I had not yet been diagnosed and was able to go back to life like normal, however after the diagnosis and being on phenytoin and switching to oxcarbazepine i am feeling awful. Dizzy, nauseated, moody, extremely tired, severe headaches that come and go. All i get from my Neurologist is these are side effects that will eventually go away. Because i never know when these symptoms will come on too strong I have missed a lot of days at work during my probation period.
Due to a genetic disorder, I've been taking warfarin for over 6 years and doing fine. My INR is always between 2 - 3. I need to have tooth extraction and implant. Do I have to stop taking Warfarin or can I just continue since my numbers are so good? I read that some people stay on warfarin with no negative problems having a tooth implant.
