I had laparoscopic surgery to repair an inguinal hernia. After 4 months, the hernia returned, and so I had a second repair surgery by incision. I'm trying to understand the geometry of the two repairs.
This can be repaired through surgery. Recovery time varies depending on the size of the hernia, the technique used, age and presence of underlying medical condition. There was no bulge, but I told my doctor it felt like a hernia. He gave me an exam and told me that it was a small inguinal hernia. I scheduled the surgery to have it repaired, but while waiting to have that done I would occasionally have this discomfort on the upper-left side of my scrotum. It felt like it was my testicle, and would knock the wind out of me if it brushed against my leg, but when I would feel them there was no pain in my testicles.

1- Go for a good urologist and surgeon using laparoscopic surgery which provides faster wound recovery and leaves no scars, as opposed to regular surgery which takes longer to heal the wound, and leaves a 2-3 inch c-section like scar in your groin area.
2- If money is an issue, get it done at an outside surgery facility not in a hospital, its cheaper, and has a lesser chance of infection... some hernia centers/ OBGYNs/Urologists and such have their own surgery facilities.
ve had a hydrocele surgery at the age of six, left side inguinal hernia surgery at the age of 10, and a right side inguinal hernia surgery at the age of 24. My right testicle have been attached closer to my body since my hydrocele surgery and I can clearly remember how uncomfortable it felt to have such an abnormal position of your testicle. I have not had what I consider a normal, healthy bowel movement since then. Stool is loose, often floats and stains the toilet (leaves streaks after flushing). Most BMs are urgent and occur 3+ times/day. There is sometimes a burning feeling while going and it is often difficult to wipe clean.

I had hernia surgery a year ago, not too long after the surgery i realized that it was back. I didn't think anything about it, but the past month I have had really bad pain, worse pain than when I got it fixed the first time. The doctor just used permanent sutures the first time, is there any way that I could have this surgery without having to have the mesh screen put in this time? Also, my abdominal muscles are separated pretty bad, could I ask the general surgeon about diastasis repair?

I was diagnosed with a indirect inguinal hernia , but mine doesn't go down into my scrotum but goes upward pulling on my testicle cord. When it's out in its full glory, it's the size of a grapefruit and hurts pretty bad. Is this normal?
Bottom line I went into get gallbladder removed now I need OPEN Hernia surgery to repair inguinal hernia. (My internist agrees the gas probably pushed the hernia out. Painful bulge,burns sometimes, but seems to go back in when I sleep and pops out next day.) Can gas cause this and if my surgeon read prior scans (he didnt) what could have been done differently. I am sure I am not the first patient to have suffered from gas-induced hernia.
