Avatar f tn t be too bad, my husband just had surgery for an inguinal hernia two weeks ago and he is back to work and everything already....wish you luck, congrats on the pregnancy.
Avatar f tn In inguinal hernia sometimes prophylactic neurectomy of the inguinal nerve is done to prevent post op pain. Recent studies have indicated that neurectomy results in pain relief in about 72% cases. Postop complications are also very less. You can consider this option after discussing with your treating doctor. Take care!
5829074 tn?1375034908 One other - possibly unrelated to this pain - is that I have an inguinal hernia. Apparently this happened 6 months prior to the surgery and went undiagnosed, as I thought it (the bulge) was just related to my suprapubic catheter. I never had scrotal/testicle pain until after the surgery though. I'd be grateful for any thoughts on this. Thanks!
Avatar m tn INGUINAL ULTRASOUND a hernia measuring 2.6cm x 1.2cm in diameter is present in the left inguinal region. The hernia contains omental fat. The hernia does not extend into the left scrotal sac. No other abnormality is noted. IMPRESSION Left inguinal hernia. SCROTAL ULTRASOUND Both testes are normal in size and internal architecture, The right epididymis is normal. A 6.4 mm cyst is present in the head of the left epididymis. There is no evidence of the hydrocele. Dilated veins measuring up to 3.
Avatar m tn ve had a hydrocele surgery at the age of six, left side inguinal hernia surgery at the age of 10, and a right side inguinal hernia surgery at the age of 24. My right testicle have been attached closer to my body since my hydrocele surgery and I can clearly remember how uncomfortable it felt to have such an abnormal position of your testicle. After 20 years, I still feel some discomforting pains (on my right testicle) when exercising.
Avatar n tn Im going to see my doctor tomorrow, but I think I may have Inguinal hernia. What is the recovery time for it? does it go away completely?
Avatar f tn I had hernia surgery a year ago, not too long after the surgery i realized that it was back. I didn't think anything about it, but the past month I have had really bad pain, worse pain than when I got it fixed the first time. The doctor just used permanent sutures the first time, is there any way that I could have this surgery without having to have the mesh screen put in this time? Also, my abdominal muscles are separated pretty bad, could I ask the general surgeon about diastasis repair?
1257808 tn?1322762215 I had an inguinal hernia. Got out of surgery around 14 days ago. I had an open mesh repair. I have documented my surgery and recovery here: www.myhernia.co.
Avatar m tn Surgery is the only treatment and cure for inguinal hernias. The surgery is best performed as an elective surgery with all the adequate precautions, to prevent recurrence. As we do not maintain a directory of doctors in this forum, we cannot recommend any specialists. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn I desperate need help for my 11 year old son. He is having pain in his groin area onset for about 6 years now. The pain is increasing. I took him to several physicians and nobody knows what's causing it. It all started when he was a baby, he had a little mass in his inguinal area and I took him to a urologist he said was nothing and would disappear. It never disappeared. I kept seeing the mass and he started to have pain in his inguinal area, near the femoral area.
Avatar n tn If there are complications, such as the presence of an inguinal hernia, an incision is made in the groin area. This approach allows the doctor to repair the hernia or other complicating factors at the same time as correcting the hydrocele. Some surgeons use a minimally invasive laparoscopic approach to repair a hydrocele.
Avatar f tn Yes, I think a hernia can go into the scrotum. Hernia pain can also come and go. https://www.urologyhealth.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with a indirect inguinal hernia , but mine doesn't go down into my scrotum but goes upward pulling on my testicle cord. When it's out in its full glory, it's the size of a grapefruit and hurts pretty bad. Is this normal?
Avatar m tn Bottom line I went into get gallbladder removed now I need OPEN Hernia surgery to repair inguinal hernia. (My internist agrees the gas probably pushed the hernia out. Painful bulge, burns sometimes, but seems to go back in when I sleep and pops out next day.) Can gas cause this and if my surgeon read prior scans (he didnt) what could have been done differently. I am sure I am not the first patient to have suffered from gas-induced hernia.
Avatar n tn I got operation on 11/30/2011 for multiple inguinal hernia. Bilateral scope surgery. I had this hernia for over 15 years. As of right now I feel tenderness and throbing in my left scrotum. "the same EXACT pain i had when I had my hernia" I was constipated for about 4 days. after 4 days I was ok using restroom. I have to use it now however I have pain in scrotum and scared to use any muscles cause it feels like something will bust out of my testicles if I try pushing. Please help.
Avatar f tn So I had a inguinal hernia repair about 2weeks ago on my left side and everything has been going good I hope I’m just a really worried person on account that I try not to do much ...
Avatar m tn After an inguinal hernia repair ~1 year ago, I am still experiencing erectile dysfunction and weak ejaculation. No issues whatsoever prior to surgery but issues immediately after. In the surgery report it said they had to sacrifice the genitofemoral and ilioinguinal nerve branches due to severe adhesion to the hernia. Post-operation I have not since had "morning wood" and have experienced somewhat of a decrease in size (both flaccid and erect).
Avatar f tn I had a left inguinal hernia surgery with mesh 15 months ago. After the surgery everything was ok. But after 10 months i experienced neuropatic groin pain just before and during ejaculation. This happened every ejaculation. Burning sensetion in the groin area contuniues 10 hours. It turned to chronic pain. If no ejqculation takes places, no pain. I read several papers about subject. The complication is dsyejaculation. Dr. Robert Bendavit first recognize this in 1992.
Avatar m tn In August I had a second traditional open surgery for the same hernia...During the winter it also failed..I am wondering whether to try surgery again with all the misery and difficulty or try to live with it with a truss..The surgeon insists that this has not happened in 500 such operations and that additional surgery will require considerably more work and methods due to all the mesh involved. I am very active and need input...Please offer suggestions....
Avatar m tn I had laparoscopic surgery to repair an inguinal hernia. After 4 months, the hernia returned, and so I had a second repair surgery by incision. Now, 10 months after the second operation, I'm having some odd "tearing" pains and tenderness under the incision site, and down toward my groin. I'm trying to understand the geometry of the two repairs.
Avatar m tn Several weeks ago I noticed a soft movable lump in my right groin area. I have a history of a right inguinal hernia which was repaired appx. 27 years ago. My physician thought it not to be a recurring hernia but rather a enlarged lymph node and placed me on antibiotics and ordered a Ultrasound of the right groin. The ultrasound suggested it to be a complex cyst.
Avatar n tn Hey I also had a inguinal hernia, I believe my car accident caused this. The problem was I am female so everyone thought it was an ovarian cyst and I actually had laproscopy only to have the bump come back in a month. Turns out he cut the hernia open. Even with ultrasounds and ct scans they couldnt see it because you have to lay on your back. Finally after 9 years of pain I had surgery and it was so worth it. You will have pain till you heal.
Avatar f tn Any hernia above this ligament is an inguinal hernia and the ones below are referred to as femoral hernias. If the hernia is reducible and if there is no inflammation or strangulation of the bowel, surgery is usually elective. If the above symptoms are there, then an emergency surgery may be mandatory. If at the ER they have ruled out complications due to the hernia, the pain could be due to other causes like renal colic or pelvic inflammatory diseases. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn I had open mesh left inguinal hernia surgery 8 days ago. My testicles have been dark purple ever since, but seem like they may FINALLY be beginning to improve a bit. I haven't had much testicular swelling, just tender and sensitive, but my left spermatic cord seems to be a bit swollen, and my testicles seem to be hanging in sort of a strange way.
Avatar n tn It's been 20 days since the Inguinal hernia surgery, but the hernia still feels like a water ball (As much as a testicle) on the side of the testicle. My doctor said it will go away in few weeks. Will it take longer to heal? This is a problem for me. Please explain to me?
