Common Questions and Answers about Infection of gallbladder

infection

Avatar n tn The physician there didnt mention much but suggested that I have gallbladder viral infection. No gallstones appear. My question is: Could I have any type of Hepatitis related to Gallbladder?? I've had a passing fever last week for one day. I also have very dark urine, all day long fatigue and a yellow skin for 2 days. Thank you.
Avatar m tn When your duct is blocked the bile cannot enter the small intestines from the gallbladder to emulsify the fatty foods consumed, bacteria can start growing leading to infection. If your gallbladder ruptures it will lead to peritonitis which is a medical emergency that only a surgical intervention with a lengthy hospital stay will fix. U feel SO much better after having surgery , i know u do. fell Let us know how it goes.
Avatar n tn They still found some leucocytes in her urine so they prescribed Levaquin, but said the extreme pain appeared to be her gallbladder. They did an Abodominal CT Scan and an Ultrasound of her gallbladder, liver and pancreas, which were normal. They then did a HIDA Scan which showed a function of 9% and referred us to a surgeon who asked if she had pain or nausea when they injected her during the scan.
Avatar f tn a mass was found on the top portion of my pancreas also my gallbladder was inlarge. was admitted to hospital for a scope to findout what the mass was for a byobsy. was told they couldn't reach the mass they did nothing else for the mass. instead they tested gallbladder the surgean said he really didn't think my pain was cause by the gallbladder but my doctor had him remove it. that was 2 years ago.
Avatar f tn The newer symptoms of sweating and nausea could suggest you might be having problems with your gallbladder but it can be difficult to tell since symptoms of acid reflux and those of gallbladder issues can often be similar.
Avatar n tn Hi jewel, From reading yours as well as others, along with my own symptoms, it sounds like you may have some type of gallbladder problem. If you have pain in your right side just around the bottom of your rib cage, it may be your gallbladder.

1449510 tn?1407160429 ve had an unknown digestive disorder for 5 years already, tons of food give me diarrhea. If it is gallbladder, the cause of my digestive problems, maybe having it removed would make my digestive problems go away? But I also know people can have more complications after gallbladder removal. And mostly just want to know if this pain seems right. Is this pain gallbladder related?
16465326 tn?1448202692 I was initially diagnosed with gallbladder disease about ten years ago via ultrasound and CT scans (gallbladder full of small stones). I was given a HIDA scan at the time which at the time indicated that my gallbladder was functioning properly and was advised to not have my gallbladder removed. Fast forward to today and I'm in a world of hurt. I was scheduled to have my gallbladder removed a number of months ago. I was having some typical gallbladder attack symptoms on my right side.
Avatar f tn you could ask to be checked for H-pylori also. it is a bacterial infection that can kind of mimic a heart attack. antibiotics will take care of it, if that is what it is. Hope this helps you.
Avatar n tn Is it urgent? Could it rupture or cause infection in the meantime? Would I be able to keep my gallbladder and cut out certain foods from my diet? Am I harming myself of putting myself in danger by putting this off? thanks for any information.
Avatar f tn Bad gallbladder can turn into Cholecystitis, which is inflammation of gallbladder, which is a lot more painful and dangerous, then just gallbladder stones, infection that can spread and cause death. iI caught, open surgery is in order, Laparoscopy won't do.
Avatar n tn i am only 6 weeks pregnant and i went too urgent care and found out i had a gallbladder attack. how can i prevent this from happening again? and is it dangerous for the baby?
Avatar n tn I wish I had an answer for you, but I'm actually going through the exact same thing. The positive Murphy's Sign almost always means some sort of gallbladder issue. It could also be your liver or digestive system since they are so close in proximity. They have probably already ruled all these out, but you could try asking about: -kidney stones -IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) -liver problems -kidney infection I would stick to your gut. You know what the pain feels like.
Avatar n tn Remember one thing: if your body is fighting off some kind of an infection, especially one that has made its way down to your digestive system, your stomach's going to produce a ton of acid to try and burn out the infection. It's an immunological self defense mechanism. However if there really is something attacking, then maybe you can see about having that checked. (Have you had a flu or the such lately? That might be an indicator.
Avatar f tn Cholecystitis is the medical name for inflammation of the gallbladder. Cholecystitis is most often the result of an obstruction within a duct in the gallbladder. Gallstones (cholelithiasis) are the most common cause of obstruction within the gallbladder. Left untreated, the inflammation may lead to infection. Other less common causes of cholecystitis include infection, injury and tumors. Inflammation of the gallbladder is a common disease in the United States.
Avatar f tn I had my gallbladder removed three weeks ago (laparoscopic) and I now have an infection at the surgical site. I saw my surgeon yesterday, which is when I noticed some drainage and pain, but no fever. He was unable to find an opening, despite prodding around with a cotton swab for several minutes. So, he's instructed me to put iodine on the area a couple of times a day and to cover it with gauze.
Avatar f tn I had recently gone to a gastroenterologist with some concerns about my stomach. I'm a very healthy eater, vegetarian, minimal cheese, gluten intolerant, and still having lots of trouble digesting food. Constant bloating, reflux and indigestion. The dr ordered an ultrasound of the abdomen.
Avatar f tn theres a lot of stuff in there, leaving you many possibilities. kidney stones, infection, bowel problems, ulcers, gallbladder, etc, etc, etc. also, a kidney infection doesnt usually show up when checking for bladder infection, but it can work down to the bladder. but theres many possibilities, so get to a dr, get bloodwork done, checking a broad spectrum of things. see if anything comes up and go from there.
Avatar f tn I have just recently been diagnosed with thickened gallbladder walls, infection, but no stones. And that my gallbladder is not working. Is it possible to reverse this condition?
Avatar n tn I had a specterodomy performed but now everything is happening again My bile duct is dialated 9-10mm and I have sludge in my gallbladder again. I read that there is a likelyhood of cancer present in the bile duct causing the dialation. I also have gastroparisis with 80% paralalysis. I am not a diabetic. Has nayone heard of this? My new gastrointerologist said I need to have my gallbladder removed. I do have chills and severe night sweat everynight.
Avatar f tn I had no ulcers and no bacterial infection. He also mentioned that I had a lot of bile in my stomach. But nothing was done about that. I got pantoprazole after that procedure. But no instructions were given on how to proceed after that. After the pantoprazole was finished i was fine for about 2-3 months (feb 2016 to may 2016). But then the symptoms came back. Not the sharp pain but discomfort. So I started taking zantac again. As soon as it got better I reduced the dosis to no medicine.

Avatar n tn This may be a indication of a gallbladder irritation, or an infection. Your gallbladder secreets the bile produced by your body. You can even thinks of food and it will start to process the bile fluid your body produces, It act as a "valve" if you will, that helps in the digestion process. Get this checked with you physician.
Avatar f tn I went to the doctor for the findings of an enlarged gallbladder and vertigo. (I went to a different ER due to all the dizziness a week prior to the doc. While there, I mentioned my side was sore but the pain seems to have spread to higher up. They did an ultrasound focusing on my liver where they found my enlarged gallbladder.) Still negative for a kidney infection but the doc was shocked by how high the sugar in urine was at the first ER. (Nobody told me at the ER.
Avatar f tn If the stone is placed in the neck of the gall bladder, it can cause retention of bile, with stasis and consequent infection. So, the best option would be to have an elective gallbladder removal irrespective of size. So, please discuss with your doctor about this option. Regards.
