The sinus infection does clear up pretty quickly after antibiotics. The hives settle down once medication starts. However heat & sun can reactivate them on and off for a couple of weeks. When I finally got over everything & was going along really well for a couple of months, the sinus infection came back, then the hives. Then I started the medicine again, just like before, and both are clearing up the same way. This is a real thing out there.

6 months ago I had my first attack. I woke up and with in 10 min had hives all over my forearms. I took Benadryl and it went away. The next day I woke up....again about 10 min later I had hives on my forearms...with in 15 min of waking up the hives spread to my chest and I started wheezing. Again took Benadryl and it went away. Morning three I woke up...same thing but worse. Hives all over my arms, neck, face and chest. My lips, eyes and cheeks swelled. So off the ER.

I had a few nights of no hives and I thought everything had resolved itself. But, last night I got another pretty bad episode of hives (rash all over legs and arms, some stomach that looks like a sunburn and was extremely itchy-woke me up.) I took benedryl and used an ice pack and it went away.

Looks like the fungal infection but it could also be a bout or hives that you have. I've had hives that look like that before and I can tell you that the itch drove me crazy. Hey, Heymore, why would you take a powerful antibiotic that is linked with Cdiff infection because it wipes out the good bacteria because you get hives? Hives are an allergic reaction, and since it happens at the dentist's office, number one on the list is latex rubber sensitivity. Have the dentist wear non-latex gloves and avoid latex and see if you still get hives. And did you know that wiping any areas in contact with latex on your skin will deactivate the latex?
g. tingly, needle like prickly sensation in the groin/thigh area, and since than, hives in the buttock area, breakouts of hives on my body, around the waist, spine area...etc. Did I get herpes or did I get a skin infection from the place? All the symptoms I have seem to be herpes but could there be other things which could be causing all this? I get outbreaks alot and have been taking allergy medication to get rid of the hives/itch. I have had a recent bout with hives. This is my first reaction to hives lasting more than a few days. I was worried about it because I had a one night stand in Europe about 6 wks ago. The condom broke and afterward I developed a UTI. (The symptoms were very mild for the UTI so I didn't go to the dr. till about a week after my trip. That means I could have had the UTI for at least a few days before it got treated.) I also a yeast infection and took generic diflucan for this.
Last year I got hives towards the end of a strep infection. This year again I was sick and now i am feeling better but getting hives again. The strep test from the doc was negative.
I am wondering, does this happen to anyone else? I am pretty sure it is not related to food or medicine. It seems to happen as my body is fighting the virus. An allergic reaction to...the virus? If so, why towards the end?

About two weeks after that I started to get hives. Now instead of hives I get like red marks on my skin. The hives literally itch and burn so bad. Zyrtec helps. The hives/welts/marks come and within minutes they are gone. This has been happening for two months now. Would hiv rash do this? I have been to both my doctor and dermatologist who have both said it is chronic hives. Could it really be chronic hives or does this sound like std? Please help. I'm scared.
This suggests that an insect bite, a fungal infection, a bacterial infection may be likely here. This may rule out more generalized disease conditions such as a viral infection. Dermatitis may also be a differential as well as vascular insufficiencies. These are just differentials of course. Applying mildly potent corticosteroid cream like hydrocortisone 1% and moisturizing the area with a light vitamin cream may help.
some people told me that HIVES are not a symptom of primary HIV infection...but when i read some of the websites on google..it says that hives can maybe caused by weaken immune system, and HIV is mentioned in there...i used to be very calm since the last few weeks, not till now when i read that online...i had unprotected sex for about 8 weeks already, but i experienced HIVES all over my body after possible exposures to HIV...please help me everyone....i'm scared now...thank you in advance...
