Avatar f tn It is very hot where I live. I was wondering if I take my baby outside after a feeding can cause a upset stomach? It seems like she spits up more when being out in the heat. She is 4.5 months old and has to take Zantac and Levison drops for GERD.
Avatar n tn Your baby is little and night time feeding is very common at 3 months. My other son that had no feeding/weight issues would feed during the night at least once until about 10 months as well. I am just going to say that you may be tired -------- really tired========== but this period of time will pass and your life will go back to normal. My son that ate every 1.5 to 2.5 hours did not start sleeping through the night until 16 months.
Avatar f tn To help you with the reflux (if he has it), it is important that the position of feeding is above 45 degrees or more, almost sitting up. Never lay him on his back when he is feeding or right after you are finished with feeding because the acid from the stomach goes into the esophagus and causes pain, plus vomiting. Wait about ½ hour after feeding before laying him down. Raise the head of his crib to a 45-degree angle too so he is not flat on his back. Hoped this helped you.

With my second he came in immediately after birth and.
Avatar n tn she went consistently taking 60 ml a feeding and did it 6 of 8 feeding..then abruptly @ day 11 she began to vomit 3 feedings up in a row..they then put her under a battery of test for lower gi upper gi AND find nothing except she had poop not impacted in her but plenty to say hmm..the gastroentonolist recommends more frequent feedings @ smaller amounts..they now start the process over again...well lets start her with 20ml blah blah blah..
1696352 tn?1318532367 they should avoid breastfeeding altogether because the risk of HIV transmission far outweighs the risks associated with replacement feeding. Replacement (sometimes known as formula) feeding is the only infant feeding method that does not expose an infant to HIV and in regions of the world where clean water and facilities are available; it is usually promoted as the only option.
5835213 tn?1375136151 She throws up digested food. I'm feeding her Blue Buffalo Basics (salmon). She usually eats it all at once, sometimes she waits, but we haven't noticed a big difference.
Avatar f tn I'm all about breast feeding and plan to do it as long as I can. My first and only kid is 14 years old and I had to start giving her formula at 6 months cause I couldn't produce enough milk but it's been so long and formulas have changed. So my question is if I can't breast feed until the age of one, what formulas would you mommies recommend I use?
Avatar n tn My concern is driven from a very high fever and all over body rash (torso, feet, face and hands) that my still breast feeding infant has. I feel sick that i may be responsible. Can you please answer my final question. My sincere apologies and thanks.
Avatar n tn Suggest changing his diaper when he falls asleep after feeding 7-8 minutes. That will wake him up enough to feed again hopefully for 7-8 minutes more so he is feeding every 2-3 hours instead of every hour. To supplement the breast milk with infant formula, suggest mixing them. Try mixing ¾ breast milk and ¼ infant formulas at first. If he does accept it, then after a week or so, try doing a bottle mix of ½ breast milk, and ½ formulas.
Avatar m tn Herpes CAN be passed to an infant during breast feeding if the mother has an actively shedding lesion within reach of the baby. What I mean is that if there is a sore on or near the nipple that can come in contact with the baby, it can be transmitted. If you have a sore on your face and the baby reaches up and touches it, it can be transmitted. If you have sores on your lower body and there is skin-to-skin contact in that area, the baby can be infected.

Avatar f tn Is it normal that im past my first trimester & I still throw up A LOT? Is their anything I can do?
Avatar f tn I know spitting up is completely normal for newborns but my 2 week old seems to throw up after almost every feeding. I breast feed, by the way. Its not just a little spit up, it looks like almost the whole feeding. Could this be because of my milk isn't settling right or what? I did call the pediatrician but won't have an appointment until next week and I'm worried something could be wrong.

Avatar m tn He sometimes will throw up after eating his food if he doesnt chew it enough. Any way tonight I came home from work and he had throw at least 4 diff. times in diff spots. It is brown and liquid like and doesnt seem to have food mixed in with it. Also he usually hops in bed with me but has been sitting by the door to go outside which is unusual. I have also noticed a lump or pouch type thing in his lower abdomen which I made an apt. for at the vet to have checked.

Avatar m tn Here are a few suggestions to help with acid reflux. The feeding position is important and should be almost a sitting up position when feeding him. Burp him well. Never lay him down on his back right after eating and wait ½ hour to 1 hour after feeding because the acid from the stomach goes into the esophagus and causes pain. Raise the head of his crib to a 45-degree angle too so he are not flat on his back. Feeding him 5-6+ times day does help.
Avatar f tn From what I know, cows milk does not have that many vitamins and minerals to fit the needs of an infant and juice certainly does not. I'm very surprised that they said it was ok for you to give her cows milk. In my opinion it would be much more nutritious for you to to give only formula and water or breastmilk (you can even pump) and water.
Avatar f tn m gonna feel defeated and give up or something. I reeeally want to breastfeed! It has so many benefits and is a lot cheaper than formula. But I can't even lightly pinch my nipples right now without them hurting like crazy so how's it gonna feel when an infant is attatching incorrectly? I'm nervous!

Avatar m tn Hello, My cat has been throwing up a brown very watery liquid for the past few days. He will go maybe a whole day and not throw up at all but then overnight we find that he's thrown up 4 or 5 times. He still drinks his water and eats his food and seems his normal self but i'm worried there might be something else wrong. Oh, this morning in his vomit was a lot of little white pecks maybe a little larger than grains of salt or sugar. Thnx any help would be appreciated.
Avatar n tn He said the heart was lifted because of fat. After the antibiotics she continued to throw up once or twice a week so we took her back and got another round of antibitiotics. She is done that now and continues to throw up. We have spent more than $1000 already and can not afford to continue to take her for expensive tests with no results. Any suggestions?
