Index finger pinky

Common Questions and Answers about Index finger pinky

finger

Avatar n tn My fingers actually slope down -- index finger is the longest, followed by middle finger and ring finger, with my pinky being the shortest. I only have knuckles on my thumb and index finger, which explains why the other three fingers on each hand are shorter. I always figured that my hands were going to be too big for my body (I'm pretty petite), and maybe this was my body's way of correcting that.
Avatar m tn I took a puck off of my right index finger and didn't really notice any immediate pain. Over the next couple days I noticed that I couldn't form a fist because my finger was very swollen and hurt to bend that far. Upon further observation I noticed that my first finger knuckle had become very wide, but the rest of my finger remained regular size. It is also very sensitive to touch.
Avatar f tn For the problem you mentioned that your finger is pointing towards the pinky finger, there are some options like putting a brace to maintain the normal position. After a while, this brace can be removed. Again, my advise is that you see a local physiotherapist to discuss your situation, and don't try any of the above suggestions on your own. In case you wish to ask me anything further, feel free to reply on this thread. Hope this helps.
Avatar m tn Around 2 months ago, I noticed a sort of raised lump/bump on my right index finger (middle knuckle area).. At first I thought it may have been a spot or blister or something, but when i tried to burst it with a pin, it was just skin.. raised bump/lump with no fluids, just skin... Anyway, I went to the docs, he said it was probably a wart.. He wouldnt freeze it off for me so I got some over the counter stuff..
Avatar n tn s falling asleep but not my entire hand, it would be selectively And randomly my fingers. For exp my index and middle finger would feel numb and slightly painfully, thwn 15 minutes later my pinky And middle then my thumb and ring finger theny ringer and pinky. This would also be accompanied by small sharp numb but semi painful spots around my elbow.
Avatar m tn Ever now and then, some days more than others I get a sharp burring sensation in my left pinky, or index finger that comes and goes quickly but is painful enough to make me stop what I am doing and if I am holding something I would either let go or drop it. I'm thinking arthritis but am not sure.
Avatar m tn I have had it on my left pinky, my left ring finger, and last night to my right middele finger. Does anyone know what is causing this?
Avatar f tn The locking progresses in severity from my index finger to my pinkie, with the pinkie finger locking the tightest. I know that trigger finger usually locks the knocking knuckles, but I've never heard of someones base knuckles locking up. Anyone else have this problem? Just as a side note, I had knee surgery a year and a half ago. My knee cap dislocated, and when I collapsed onto my knee, somehow a piece of my femur chipped off.
1625195 tn?1332178662 There is little to no numbness. The ring finger is the same as well. But my middle finger, index finger and thumb are definitely numb and slightly swollen. My index finger, though, is the only finger experiencing some pain along with the numbness and swelling. Things to note: I did not bang my elbow on anything.
Avatar m tn A few weeks later, I noticed I could feel a nerve fairly easy between my thumb and index finger. Here recently I've had a lot of headaches, muscle twitching and aching pain in my left arm/hand. I've noticed that my pinky finger can move but seems to move like I was double jointed or something. I seem to have a stiff neck every now and then but I feel like I've always had that. When I hold a cup or a glass of something in my left hand I shake really bad.
Avatar f tn Lately i have had numbness in my thumb, index finger, midfle finger, ring finger and pinky finger as well as pain in this fingers. My wrist, forearm, and elbow gets pain in it. I also get pain when i grip something too long. I also have a hard time laying in bed typing. Is this tendons, ligaments, nerve, inflammation?
Avatar n tn If I try to make a fist, my ring finger will not bend to the palm, my pinky finger does not bend. Pinky finger isn't injured. The middle finger (not injured either) will bend but the joint closest to the nail will not curl under. Thumb and Index are fine. I was wondering if there is an injury to one finger can it affect the other fingers beside it?
Avatar f tn The last month my finger pain has really gotten bad and has now started in on my right hand too - and that started with a bout of SHARP pain in the pinky finger joint but is now in the middle, ring, pinky on that hand too - still worse on the left. what gives?
Avatar f tn Often, thyroid problems can cause carpal tunnel syndrome, which causes pain, burning and numbness in the thumb and fingers. With CTS, the thumb, index, and middle fingers are affected. Also, the ring finger can be affected all around, but often it's just the side of the ring finger closest to the middle finger that is affected. The pinky is not affected at all. I agree with Barb that more background information would be very helpful.
1493284 tn?1294875712 Last night I noticed I couldn't straighten my right pinky finger all the way-- it stayed stubbornly curved. The day before I'd woken up with both hands numb/achy to up the arms, and they'd remained thus all day, but yesterday they were fine. Good times!
Avatar m tn I worked hard for a couple months doing some exercises I found online trying not to fail my classes and make money. I regained much of my mobility however my index finger (the finger with the knuckle I broke) won't bend down all the way its now been 6 months since the break. this has made hitting the bag and future self defense a bit more tricky when throwing a punch my index finger hits first and makes it bend causing extreme pain which would be impractical in a self defense scenario.
Avatar n tn i have the same thing on my hand right under my pinky finger, exact same discription. and i have no idea what it is, but it itches and burns so badly takes every thing i got not to scratch at it. whats worse is the skin around it starting to peal and make my skin thin and sensitve, and now my skin is cracking and it hurts really bad. what is this and how do you treat it, nothing is working that i have tryed.
Avatar m tn I noticed over the weekend I have what looks like a few brown spots on my fingers. I wouldn't call it a rash necessarily because it's not raised or itchy, it literally looks like smeared chocolate that hadn't been fully washed off. I have three spots on my index finger and one dot on my pinky. Could this be std related? I had oral sex almost 2 weeks ago with other male. Since I haven't had any symptoms but my throat feeling sore in the mornings and recently these brown spots.
Avatar n tn If the numbness you describe is occurring in the pinky and ring finger, a similar type of condition you may be experiencing is The numbness/tingling in the pinky finger your husband is experiencing is ulnar nerve entrapment. As the ulnar nerve travels down the arm, there are a few areas in particular that it can become entrapped. One common place for this to happen is at the elbow and when this occurs, a "cubital tunnel syndrome" may result. As the nerve travels towards the hand.
Avatar f tn Well in basketball I got pushed, fell on my right hand (hand I write with) and I cannot put any pressure nor weight on it. There is NO way I can bend it. Along with that, my knuckle under my pinky is swollen and won't more either. My pinky is veryyy swollen. I can also see a done randomly sticking out on my knuckle. Did I brake my knuckle? What should I do!!!?
Avatar n tn my mom has had visible hard lump growing on her pinky finger the past month. it is about 1cm long and protrudes from the inner portion of her pinky slightly above the main joint where the finger bents (not the joint by the nail). it is painless and i went online and searched and searched and i'm pretty sure it is a giant-cell tumor, which is supposed to be benign. my question is, do you think she should get it removed or just let it be.
422104 tn?1209763904 m having is sudden numbness in my index finger and thumb, left and right hand at different times. Happened again about 10 min ago, this is the 4th time. My fingers turn white. For those of you that have numbess does this sound familiar? My concern is that it could be a circulatory problem because they turn white. My 2nd MRI came back same as the one from 06', 3 lesions. The EMG and VEP came back normal. Haven't heard from the doc yet for his dx.
Avatar f tn I have been having extreme burning sensation down my right pinky finger and middle knuckle and wrist an terrible aching pain to go along with it in my right hand wrist and fore arm .. What is this? It is terrible!
Avatar n tn It started off with just twitching in my right thumb/index finger, now over the last few weeks the twitching has spread throughout my body and in my face as well at times. I've recently gotten a fever as well although I don't feel nauseous, I feel weak and achey along with these twitches I've become pretty concerned at this point. I've also noticed some head pressure when I do certain activities that require labor. I'm just wondering what this could be?
