Avatar n tn I just noticed that I had once a week SVT and when ever i took Lanoxin with full stoamch, SVT stopped after 11 hrs. ( that happened twice ). One time I had SVT and i took Lanoxin on an empty stomach and SVT stopped after an hour. Yesterday, I had SVT again. I took Lanoxin after eating my snacks and the SVT stopped after 6 hrs. My BP was 120/80, after 2 hrs. 100/80..I am 41, female. If my 2D echo with Doppler showed all normal, what is the cause then of these palpitaitons.
Avatar n tn I am 49 years old and was admitted to the hospital in August 2008 with CHF, Cardiomyopathy and an EF of 20%. I went to my GP complaining of occasional missed heart beats... was given an EKG and he noticed a LBBB - onto the cardiologist who performed a nuclear stress test which I failed miserably and was admitted immediately into the hospital. I had NO OTHER SYMPTOMS. First diagnosis was a virus had attacked my heart. Upon further evaluation...
Avatar n tn He currently takes lasix, aldactone and coumadin. Also, I researched Lanoxin and that sounds like it may be a drug suitable for him. Any advice you may have would be great thanks.
329165 tn?1515471990 Went to Cardio for 6 weeks check-up and he prescribed LANOXIN 0,25mg with high starting dosage (had to take 4 tabs the 1st day). It is now 7 days later and still no improvement. My HR is still fast and BP low and I now have extra systoles/irregular HR. Should I stop using LANOXIN and switch to SOTACOR (I used it pre-op). I had Ablation done in Nov. 2007 to treat PSVT. Thank you!

Avatar n tn Is your uncle taking Lanoxin (heart medication)? Lanoxin has shown to increase the pumping strength. My father had a weak heart beat and after being on Lanoxin for about 10 years now, he's heart beat is strong (very strong per taking his pulse). Ask your uncle's doctor about Lanoxin.

She has done pretty well except for the fact it caused conjestive heart failure. last februray her heart defibulator started firing alot because of racing heart. At the same time her platelets dropped dramatically to 1700,white cells are up and her stool turned cream colored. She has had a bone marrow biopsy which was negative for cancer. We still dont have any answers.
967168 tn?1477584489 s been a full week and I feel alot better, still some swelling, but it may take awhile to fully go away - I can live with that. We were in a minor car accident on Friday and I got upset and bam-o pvc's started and haven't stopped - so I took Inderal when we came home and it helped. My question is about is Inderal - I thought it was for migraines? how long typically does it work or last? My bottle says take as needed...
Avatar n tn I wonder if maybe if the sweating is caused by anxiety and Inderal can help with anxiety that would be a way it could help??? Just my thoughts but I really am not to sure.
Avatar n tn I never notice any heartbeat irregularity when standing or with activity but when I have taken the adderall and laid down I frequently get short, episodes of tachycardia, fluttering and/or heart pounding. I never have chest pain or sob and it only lasts approx. 20 seconds. Does laying down/leaning foreward alter the position of the heart so drastically that the electrical system is altered also? How does position affect the heart's electrical system?
Avatar n tn 80 year old woman with hypertension , heart failure, borderline diabetes, history of arrhythmia , thyroid removed, arthritis . Avatar n tn t aggravate tremors and so your feeling of increased head shaking cannot be attributed to Inderal. For a person with an essential tremor, the starting dose of Inderal is 40 mg twice a day. Based on the tremor response and/or Inderal side effects, your healthcare provider may increase or decrease the Inderal dosage. Hence, the dose you are taking is suboptimum and may not be of any benefit in your tremor.
Avatar f tn Your migraine headaches may come back as a result of stopping the Inderal if the Inderal is controlling your migraine headaches. If the migraine headaches do come back and become chronic (more than 15 migraines a month) this would be considered a disability and it would be important that you stayed on the Inderal. If this happens, you may want to consider if it is possible for you to afford to pay for the Inderal out-of-pocket.
Avatar m tn I AGREE WITH eagle Kratom comes with its own vises and is addictive its like playing with fire it may make methadone withdrawals a bit more managable but any narcotic will do that the thing is most of this stuff backfires onse your off it and you wind up in full blown withdrawals from the methadone ......
Avatar f tn If so, what has your experience been. I am going to ask my doctor about it today because it also helps with head aches which I have been having since the heart rate swings started.
Avatar n tn amiodarone is probably one of our strongest AF drugs and it works very well in controling the rhythm. The problem with it is that it has a concerning side-effect profile. It is much worse than digoxin from that stand-point. Patients frequently develop thyroid and liver problems, they also have to have their eyes and lungs checked routinely to rule out further complications. We typically only use it as a last resort drug, or for a short period of time.
Avatar n tn However, if your daughter is 2 months old already and is still having this severe of a problem, it may be better to move forward with surgical closure of the VSD and ASD. You need to speak with your local cardiologist so that you can understand better what is happening with your daughter's heart. If you are not able to get this understanding of her condition, you need to consider getting a second opinion quickly.
1679514 tn?1305240068 You should call your Pharmacist or your Doc... you also don't write about the dosage... I'm a on low dose of Inderal, not more than 15 mg a day but normally only take 2.5 to 5 mg in the morning when my heart race the most... Same for the Ativan, if your dosage is high, that can explain why you feel bad... Benzo meds cause a lot of fatigue and the beta-blocker like the Inderal also.. I'm on Inderal + Klonopin + Xanax (Klonopin and Xanax are like the ativan but stronger...

Avatar f tn Last October I was diagnosed with Idiopathic Dilated Cardiomyopathy with the ejection fraction of 20% ( I am 63 years young). In December I had a Bi-V ICD inserted. Yesterday I had a MUGA test done and my ejection fraction has increased to 46%. Does this mean that my enlarged heart could be reducing in size or just that the ICD and medication is working? I had a lot of stress before my diagnosis and have not worked since.
Avatar n tn They use pacemaker to pace it out (mode switching) or regular my heart rate. Doc tried to prescribe a combination of Flecainide with Lanoxin, or Atenolol, or Verapamil. I can't tolerate them. And finally the Flecainide was not working after a few months. Now I didn't on any med. Yeh, all doctors still asked me to keep exercise, play spot etc. Are your SSS caused by med or actually the Sinus node dysfunction (Lazy heart)?
162069 tn?1224677411 thanks everyone.... to ireneo.. she is actually doing really well.. she has lost weight and is able to walk and ride her bike up to the dollar store (which is one of her favorite things whenever she gets a few bucks) she still has days when she doesn't feel well, she comes home tired some days when it is hot and we are careful not to let her spend too much time in the sun. she still has some issues but we are careful and now that her ef has held for a year we don't panic...
Avatar n tn I was prescribed Inderal for tremors about 15 years ago with the promise that it was not addictive, and no side effects..First of all it is addictive and secondly it causes impotence.
Avatar f tn I didn't have migraines, but I was given a beta blocker (propranolol or Inderal) for high pressure headaches (Pseudotumor). Anyways, my doctor's theory was that it would keep my blood pressure under control, as blood pressure can rise under distress. Side effects I experienced were : fatigue, dizziness, and low blood pressure (as I didn't have high blood pressure to begin with, my blood pressure dipped too low when I didn't really need it).
