1205562 tn?1554747006 I recently heard that drinking one dark beer a day can really help increase your milk supply because of the yeast in the beer. I was skeptical so I researched it a little. And turns out, that yes, it's true!! Beer is second to napping for increasing milk supply!!! So for those of you who like a dark beer... drink up!! :-) My friend has twins and all the nurses told her to drink a beer every day for increased milk supply. Just a bit of information that I thought I'd share.

Avatar f tn I've heard it not good cus the milk will have the beer but I've also heard it helps with producing more milk so im not sure ... but I will definitely have a cold beer asap. I will just not breastfeed my baby that day.
Avatar f tn it wont hurt your baby if you wait 12 hours to feed I believe it is.. Beer is actually not that bad for your baby or your body... it will help with milk production.
4437866 tn?1388119624 But they seem more satisfied with bottle feeding than they do latched on my breast. Im bad at explaining so beae with me. The beer i wont try unless its ok with dr. 7055678 tn?1394847153 Studies do show that beer can raise the levels ofprolactin, a hormone responsible for milk production. However, since beer is made from barley and hops, the reason some women report an increase in their milk supply after drinking beer is most likely a result of these two known galactagogues as opposed to the alcohol. The alcohol itself will not help you to make more breast milk.
Avatar f tn t true anymore. If you feel sober, your milk is sober. One beer will not affect you/milk/baby. In fact they say if you, drink an occasional dark beer, the yeast will help increase your milk supply.
151928 tn?1275707337 I drank beer and it was dark beer. I had read that it increased milk flow. I only had one a week but my milk did increase. Not sure if it was the beer. I waited the two hours to pump or feed again.
Avatar f tn I drink a lot of milk a day because I'm going to be breast feeding and I heard drinking milk and eating cheese helps. How healthy is it to drink milk while pregnant? How much does the baby get from it and also I'm a huge coffee drinker lol I'm 37 weeks pregnant. Is it okay to drink coffee now or while breast feeding?
1080032 tn?1326414386 After pumping can I leave my breast milk sitting out if my daughter will be eating 2hrs later? I don't have a bottle Warner so I would hate to put it in the fridge.
7473580 tn?1398228610 Oatmeal is awesome in helping produce more milk!! Also try Taking fenugreek capsules with another herb called blessed thisle. Both in capsules 3/5 times daily. There is also a great tea to add to those remedies, it's called Mother's Milk, it's awesome and very successful in helping increase milk supply (healthy lactation). You can find these online, in your local herb shop and some local grocery stores may carry them as well!! Congratulations mama!!

7552771 tn?1469929649 I had 80ml sorry I don't know how to convert that lol
Avatar f tn My baby's 6 weeks old now and I just started breast feeding. I can't produce milk at all at the moment does this mean that aI should stop because it's to late to start breast feeding now? I try to pump it as much as I can and I can only get a few drops from it. I tried giving it to my baby to be he doesn't want to suck it because he's used to the bottle now what can I do.
Avatar f tn Pump and dump is not gonna help and the teat strips are a waste of money. Alcohol metabolizes through your breast milk at the same rate that it metabolizes in your blood. Meaning if you have one drink, regardless of how much you pump and dump it'll still take about an hour for your body to fully metabolize the alcohol. With that being said the concentration of alcohol in your breast milk also reflects that of your blood.
Avatar f tn Regarding Breast Feeding also i dont know what to eat to increase my milk flow as currently my baby is on breastmilk plus bottle milk both. If he breast feeds me it takes around an hour or 1-1/2 hour to satisfy his hunger which sometimes results in back ache of mine so 2-3times i give him powder milk. I want him to just breast feed and no powder milk. Can anyone advicd how can i increase my milk flow? Though dr has prescribed lactation tablet 3times a day.
Avatar f tn If you pump you will be able to provide her with breast milk even while she is at the sitters.
Avatar f tn When first starting out it is important to put baby to breast there are hormones that help with milk production and let down and baby helps with that. A pump does not give the mothering instinct like baby. It is also important to relax and not be stressed because that will hinder let down and production.
6079706 tn?1427123162 Did you try mothers milk with the other babies? It's supposed to help you produce more milk. I also plan to breast feed, never have but I've heard good things from friends about mothers milk!
Avatar f tn I heard that its full of fibre and really good for mum and baby for that...
Avatar f tn m not really a drinker, but I might have a beer to help produce breast milk. I have a hormonal issue that can reduce how much comes in.
Avatar f tn What are natural ways to increase your breast milk supply? I'm skeptical of trying medicine, are there natural ways that has actually worked for you? I would like to hear 1st head experience. Thanks.
4838161 tn?1369531346 A stout beer can actually help with milk production. I had a lactation consultant recomend it to me. But most of the alcohol will metabolise out of your system within that three hours.
4332997 tn?1358728615 The way I switched my son from breast milk to formula was I began mixing my breast milk with formula. For example, 1oz formula to 4oz breast milk to start off. Then slowly went increasing the amount of formula each week.
4043310 tn?1355912647 I was told that you actually can but there is a certain way to do it, you can pump a good supply of breast milk before you decide to have a drink and after drinking you should not feed your baby milk from your breast for at least 2hrs after drinking to allow the alcohol to get out of your system. If having a beer is something that you must do try to keep it at a minimum and on occasion is best but of course none at all is better.
