741877 tn?1265950200 this is also another reason why I thought my milk supply is dwindling... I did notice that after a nice warm shower my right breast is leaking milk.. I guess this is a good sign that there's still some milk there??
Avatar m tn For women breastfeeding, fenugreek seeds are used to help increase milk supply. Taking Fenugreek at the required amounts helps to increase breast milk, the only real side effect may be that their skin has a maple syrup smell. Fenugreek has been found to increase a women’s milk supply within 24-72 hours of taking the supplement. Once obtaining the results wanted, most women can decrease the amount of Fenugreek needed and stop all together.
Avatar f tn Can wearing a sports bra to bed hurt my milk supply?!!!! They are so comfy to wear to bed!!!
327668 tn?1224792350 Mothers around the world have been using it obscurely as a natural way to increase breast milk, mothers produce copious amounts of highly nutritious milk for their infants. The term given an herb or food that increases the flow or production of breast milk is galactogogue. Moringa has been clinically proven to increase the production of breast milk whether it is consumed before or after the birth of a baby.
2121625 tn?1350484749 def dont suppliment, it will be a growth spurt, just put him to breast as often as he wants and your milk supply will increase to his demands, also you shouldnt feel engorged anymore as your milk supply will be regulated by how much your bub is having :)
Avatar n tn I've heard that breastfeeding regularly works better than the pump to improve supply. It's still early, keep trying. Your milk supply should kick in soon. Some women also take a supplement called milky which supposedly helps.
Avatar f tn Putting the baby to breast as much as possible is one of the best ways. When you supplement it lowers your milk supply and shouldnt be advised.
Avatar f tn Experts say that newborns typically have growth spurts at six days, three weeks, three months, and six months. Right before a growth spurt comes cluster feeding. So if it seems like your kiddo is always hungry, he's probably trying to increase your milk supply. Nurse on demand and your supply grows how it should. Supplement with formula and your supply may never catch up. As long as baby is gaining weight and having enough wet and soiled diapers a day, you do NOT need to give him formula.
Avatar f tn s needs do, you supplement and your possibly losing that great supply. Your body will make all the breast milk your baby will need but continue to exclusively breastfeeding!! I am expecting my 7th, first four were breastfed up to 6 months, I then pumped and introduced a bottles of breast milk due to new work schedules, my other two a breast fed, over 12 months. I just weaned my 14 month old, as a matter of fact!! I am due in October!! Any more questions, here and open to help!!??
Avatar f tn t the right forum but I feel more comfortable asking questions here...I had my daughter on the 9th and at first I had a really good milk supply where my breast would become engorged every two hours if I didn't pump or feed regularly....and I was pumping 2/3 ounces from each breast every time.....now I can hardly get an half an ounce :(....I try to have my daughter on my breast every two hours but it seems like she gets so irritated because nothing is coming out....
Avatar f tn stay hydrated and eat well, depriving yourself of good nutrician and hydration can make ur supply go down, breastfeeding exclusively and on demand for the first 2 weeks to a month so your body will establish a supply(do not supplement during this time, as long is baby is gaining weight and having plenty of wet/poor diapers there is no need for it), continue to take your prenatal, and this is most important in my opinion make sure your baby latches onto the breast properly.
898043 tn?1262496985 I would ask for help at the herbal supplement store--there are things you can take to increase milk supply (mother's milk tea, fennugreek i think are 2)but i don't know if it works after you stop producing milk. Also contact your local hospital about a breastfeeding support group--the instructor might know something that'll work. Good Luck--I really hope it works.
Avatar f tn I breast fed my daughter and I always had extra to put in the fridge. I just had to pump at the time she usually had to feed and I kept producing alot of milk.
Avatar f tn I don't know how to increase your milk supply but absolutely do not let them Give your baby a bottle at the hospital. That was my mistake with my first. I thought he was gonna starve cause my milk had not came in and he wouldn't latch on right. Well after he ate from a bottle that was it he was not gonna work for it. He would scream and scream when I'd try to breast feed.
Avatar f tn Baby needs to be physically latched on to your breast and drinking in order for you to produce milk. I also agree with Lanny_Licorice fenugreek capsules work to increase milk supply and in South America (where I'm from) my grandma and aunts always said eating and/or drinking oatmeal everyday or several times a day wether it be cooked or in a drink also increases milk supply.
Avatar f tn Then she will continue to suck and get breast milk. Pumping helps to increase milk supply and you could pump and feed while you transition.
7913021 tn?1418048620 Anyone ever take it or do you suggest another breast milk/pumping supplement that will help your milk come in?
Avatar f tn Be careful if you supplement formula on top of breast milk because if you feed them too much and they will get sick and it can stretch out their tummy! I am sure you are doing great and providing the right amount of milk for your little one - are you counting diapers to see if the baby is having enough wet ? That is a great way to tell that they are getting enough to eat.
7656727 tn?1404157447 So I finally got a pump today to get all my milk out and now it looks like I wont be making as much milk. Is there anything I can take to increase my milk supply?? Any recommendations would be highly appreciated. Thank you!
136689 tn?1419580447 Hey ladies just wondering if there is anyway to increase milk supply besides pumping, I'm not feeling that full feeling anymore and blayde seems to have to suck a bit more than usual to stimulate me to let down, and i usually can get 150mls out of both breast after feeding but today could only get 50mls.
7801868 tn?1395885718 I want to start pumping more often to increase my supply so that way if i go somewhere i have milk put aside. Tonight i plan on having a few drinks and already have enough milk pumped for that. I find i dont get much when i pump, maybe 3 oz total from both boobs. I almost exclusively bf. How can i increase the amount im pumping? Any tips to help with pumping? Best times to pump?
Avatar f tn The best way to increase your milk supply is getting the baby to latch more often, and switch between breasts after 15-20 minutes of feeding, if she's falling asleep try to take her onsie off so she's stimulated, and awake, in a bright room, and doesn't fall asleep quickly.
362119 tn?1223137936 Prolactin levels are at their peak between about 1am-5am so try and get at least one session in during this time frame to help increase your milk supply. Breast massage before and during pumping/nursing will also help increase your milk supply.
Avatar f tn Now that my son is up to 35cc of milk in a bottle plus 15-20 minutes breast feeding every 3 hours, my milk supply has plummeted. I thought the more he fed and the more I pumped the more milk I would produce. But it's the opposite. Now I'm barely making 20-25cc each time I pump. It's stressing me out. I don't want to put my son on formula but if I can't make enough milk to sustain his growth I don't have a choice.
Avatar f tn Definitley pump in the beginning, it helps bring your milk in. As well as increase your supply, plus it doesn't hurt having that extra milk stored for later. Try eating oatmeal cookies, smoothies whatever. Also certain ale's help increase your supply like one beer a week. Drink a ton of water! The more nipple stimulation/pumping the better. And if for some reason your milk doesn't come in this tim5w. Dont be too hard on yourself, at least you tried!
Avatar f tn My son is 3 wks I'm currently breastfeeding, but i feel as if my milk supply is decreasing.. I use a nipple shield and he'll feed for 10 min. On one breast and get super fussy, once i take him off I'll notice that there isn't any milk in the shield. Which to my opinion he ran out of milk in that breast so he got fussy. I'll move him to the next and same thing.. When i pump he'll eat anywhere from 4-6 oz. That's if i can get that much out.
