I always have a visual aura and then I lose vision in my left eye. I have tried imitrex, zomig and I am currently on topomax. June 2006 I had sudden left sided weakness. my arm and leg. I felt rather confused a little disoriented, but that didn't last long. the weakness has persisted. I have had about six MRI done. Mostly normal I have a small Arnold-Chiari variant. I work full time at the local hospital. I work closely with many doctors, they all can't give ma any definite answers.

hi sorry you are having the headaches...i used to get them as well....luckily i haven't had one in a long time....i've read that Imitrex isn't a narcotic so maybe ask about that?? i don't know anything about it, never taken it but a friend of mine did....and when i had them, i took Excedrin Migraine..otc...it seemed to help. hope you feel better soon!!

t get imitrex tablets, get the imitrex or generic nasal spray or imitrex or generic injection OR treximex tablets but NOT imitrex tablets. - Zolmitriptan. brand name Zomig. this is what i use. so there is no reason to become an addict or to crave the medication, but ones body will still become highly dependent on the medication to a point that if you take the body off the medication abruptly you can cause seizures and even death... Imitrex is NOT like that!! Imitrex does not cause any sort of high or euphoria so you cannot become addicted to it, you will not "crave" it when you are not in pain...

I am pretty loyal to Imitrex. But always at max dose of 200mg. There is a new drug from makers of Imitrex called Trixamet. It is Imitrex plus an NSAID. I got a sample from my doc. I loved it. Trixamet is supposed to be covered by any insurance that takes Imitrex, but mine doesn't cover it. Maybe yours will. Hope I helped.

Hello. I've been suffering from sever migraines for years but recently they have gotten worse.. For a week now I've had a constant pain. Ive tried imitrex and that hadn't help. I took a pain med n it help for a little while. But the pain is back ten fold. Is that because of the pain med.? Any suggestions on migraine medications?

I used to get so many migraines and I was taking imitrex injections. When I moved the migraines got worse from stress and I started taking the imitrex daily, sometimes even multiple times a day. After about 3 months of this I started getting heart palpitations. They got so bad that I stopped taking my imitrex (cold turkey) on the whim that it was causing them. I have been put on everything from narcotics (which I refuse and hate) to Beta Blockers. (Which Do help) Currently on Propanol. But my very FIRST and ONLY time using Imitrex Oral Capsule. I use the Imitrex nasal spray and it gets rid of my headaches with no euphoria or narcotic "haze".
