hi sorry you are having the headaches...i used to get them as well....luckily i haven't had one in a long time....i've read that Imitrex isn't a narcotic so maybe ask about that?? i don't know anything about it, never taken it but a friend of mine did....and when i had them, i took Excedrin Migraine..otc...it seemed to help. hope you feel better soon!!

Be careful with that chica! It is very addictive. It is a barbituate and if you do become dependent or addicted to it, you have to taper slowly off of it. Quitting cold turkey can be dangerous, and possibly cause seizures. Do some research on it before you even consider taking it. (Always a good idea with any drug. Doctors often neglect to tell you about side effects, etc.) Maybe talk to your doctor about an alternate treatment option. There are a TON out there. Good luck to you.

Anyway, I am taking Imitrex for my migraines. Well, I had problem with script to fill Imitrex medicine couple years ago.... it only supplys 9 and only covers one any type of migraine medication PER month. When I ran out of it, I asked my doctor to give me script for more Imitrex and I dropped script off at Walgreens then few minutes later, pharmacist told me that insurance was not covering that...

I am not sure if I had them due to detox or not, because i have had them off and on since i was 16...The only medicine that works for me is imitrex...It is non-narcotic..Also i use phenegan so i don't throw it up...I hope you get something to help!!

It's the one thing that almost always works on my migraines, so I really NEVER have an excuse to take any pain meds. Harvey: Thanks for your encouragement. I'd like to encourage you, also!
