Since you may suffer from what is called Hemiplegic migraine (some doctors refer to this as "complicated migraine") then Imitrex can often be contraindicated. As well as being contraindicated in the case of Hemiplegic migraine, Imitrex is also contraindicated in some other types of migraine headaches as well such as Basilar artery migraine.

Hello, I've had migraines (no aura, just spaciness and pain) for several years now and do well on imitrex. For the past few weeks I've experienced numbness on tongue and lips extending to the whole side of my face. This facial numbness has been going on for about a week. In the past couple of days my left eyelid is twitching and I sometimes have a blurry spot in my left eye. I'm not in any pain but I am uncomfortable and kind of anxious.

Be careful with that chica! It is very addictive. It is a barbituate and if you do become dependent or addicted to it, you have to taper slowly off of it. Quitting cold turkey can be dangerous, and possibly cause seizures. Do some research on it before you even consider taking it. (Always a good idea with any drug. Doctors often neglect to tell you about side effects, etc.) Maybe talk to your doctor about an alternate treatment option. There are a TON out there. Good luck to you.

I have the EXACT same thing. I've tried Imitrex tablets (no help since I threw them up), Imitrex Nasel Spray (once again, no help because I threw it up), Imitrex Injection (have you tried this? I couldn't keep taking because of an allergic reaction). Another good option is Relpax. It is a tablet BUT one of the benifits is that it helps with vomiting also. I did fine on this and I'm a huge vomiter (yuck, lack of a better word). Sure wish I had insurance still...
