I buy a couple meds from Canadadrugsonline.com to get a price I can afford. I looked up both the Imitrex and the Relpax and was horrified they are so expensive even in Canada. So I know for certain I can't get the here in US. I took Imitrex several years back before I lost my health coverage and seem to remember it did not agree with me, but again, I'll talk with my doctor. I am so glad that you asked about imitrex! I take a triptan, like imitrex, and personally I think that triptans are the best treatment for acute migraines, and they are also the most prescribed medication for acute migraines.

Im now on Butorphanol spray, demerol, ativan and sleeping pills, all for pain management, ,i have also been on preventatives for years,i have not worked for 20 yrs from my intense migraines. Although Imitrex im sure works for alot of people which is great if your body reacts well to it, unfortunately for me it didnt. Wishing you well in your journey.

Hello, Oh my goodness do I ever have hormone headaches. I even notice vauge head discomfort with ovulation some months. Imitrex tablets and the Imitrex injectable pen have completely helped me. I hardly ever need the pen and can usually get away with only half of an Imitrex tab. Hormone headaches are definitely for real, get yourself some pain relief and enjoy feeling better. Take care.

Hello. I'm a 23 y.o. female in good health. I do suffer from GAD and have a hx of migraines/tension headaches. For the past few months I have been under a lot of stress and I have noticed an increase in migraines ( going from once or twice a month to once or twice a week). I went to my doctor and she told me that the migraines were due to stress and prescribed a muscle relaxer and Imitrex. The migraines have reduced since then.

I too am experiencing headaches from wearing glasses. I need to use the computer many hours a day. I have astigmatism. The glasses do what they're supposed to bu they give me a headache. I sometimes switch to lesser strength readers to give my eyes a rest...but really doesn't stop the headaches. The headaches are bad and sometimes carry over into the following day..can only be relieved by imitrex. The optometrists I've seen have been no help.

Is it safe to take Lexapro and Imitrex? There is a warning on the package against this but I thought I would ask the professionals first.

I am a 50 yr old male in decent but not great shape. I like to play tennis in the summer but one of the drawbacks is a migraine after playing in the sun/heat/humidity. I have since realized that I've gotten sick from prolonged exertion to the sun/heat since I was a kid & played little league. does either imitrex or maxalt contain caffeine? I was taking Maxalt for migraines and it worked great! Now my insurance has decided I need to try Imitrex before they will approve coverage for the Maxalt. The Imitrex took about 2 hours to have any effect, but eventually my headache subsided. Since then I have had recurring headaches for 4 days.

I have been suffering from migranes for 25 years now and have been using Imitrex successfully to relieve the attacks (usually several times a monthy, primarily around the time of my menstrual period). in the past year, i have been suffering EVERY day (for weeks now) and have had to take IMITREX every day to relieve the pain.

I am pretty loyal to Imitrex. But always at max dose of 200mg. There is a new drug from makers of Imitrex called Trixamet. It is Imitrex plus an NSAID. I got a sample from my doc. I loved it. Trixamet is supposed to be covered by any insurance that takes Imitrex, but mine doesn't cover it. Maybe yours will. Hope I helped.

I switched to sumatriptan tablets from injections because my insurance would no longer provide coverage. I have found that the tablets work as well as the injections. HOWEVER, the tablets take an hour to work as compared with fifteen minutes for the injection. I get a migraine every day, and as soon as I feel it coming on, I take a sumatriptan tablet. As you might guess, I too have been wondering if I am dependent on the medication! I would like to hear from others who use it as often as I do.

Hello. I've been suffering from sever migraines for years but recently they have gotten worse.. For a week now I've had a constant pain. Ive tried imitrex and that hadn't help. I took a pain med n it help for a little while. But the pain is back ten fold. Is that because of the pain med.? Any suggestions on migraine medications?

I have tried numerous medications. (Amerge, Imitrex, Toradol, Fioricet, Maxalt, Indocin, Lithium, Imitrex Injections, Vicodin, Perocet.. I beleive there is a few others I just can't think of them at this time) I am now being treated with Zonegran, Depakote. The Zonegran was working for a little while but I have seemed to reach a plateau. I have not been migraine free at all since November, but there have been times where my migraines have been less painful.

I used to get so many migraines and I was taking imitrex injections. When I moved the migraines got worse from stress and I started taking the imitrex daily, sometimes even multiple times a day. After about 3 months of this I started getting heart palpitations. They got so bad that I stopped taking my imitrex (cold turkey) on the whim that it was causing them. The palpitations started getting worse, but I had now talked myself into having a fear of imitrex (that it would kill me).

(although i have used all of them at some point) don't get the tablets... like imitrex, the tablets don't work. But, the nasal spray DOES work incredibly well and this is what is usually prescribed anyway. - Almotriptan. brand name Axert. a very powerful triptan tablet.
