I am presently seeing a neurologist and am on nortriptyline 40mg daily and take Imitrex 100mg when I get migraines-I also sometimes take excedrin migraine. . I am really at a loss what to do next. Ialso get very tired and achy before a really bad migraine and feel completely spaced out. For the past two weeks I have had a horrible migraine. It will sometimes go away with treatment but only to return later in the day.

Hi Juniper! First-line acute migraine medications are triptans. There are currently 7 triptans on the market, plus one triptan that is also mixed with an NSAID called Naproxen. I believe that fast acting triptans are the best in most situations because they work the fastest. Fast acting triptans come in orally disintegrating tablets or nasal sprays. I personally use Zomig Nasal Spray and find it works extremely well. I also have found great success with Maxalt-MLTs.

what is the difference between the imitrex injections and pills? Which is more effective and prescribed more?

Is it safe to take Lexapro and Imitrex? There is a warning on the package against this but I thought I would ask the professionals first.

If you suffer from some other types of medical conditions too, Imitrex should not be taken. Do not take Imitrex if you have underlying cardiovascular diseases, if you have uncontrolled hypertension, if you are taking MAO-A antidepressants or and do not take Imitrex if you have severe hepatic impairment.

Enfamil sends you free samples of formula and coupons gerber sends you coupons. Similac is supposed to but I've yet to see them send me stuff.. huggies, pampers, and luvs will send you stuff too!

Similac and Gerber both send out coupons for formulas but Similac actually sent me bottles, coupons for bottles, and sample cans of formula. You don't receive any of the coupons or anything until you are close to your due date. I just googled free baby items and a ton of pages had info on what sites to go to for free items.

Another idea is to go on the diapers websites pampers huggies so on and sign up for coupons. Also if u plan on formula feeding u can get coupons for those too! I used gerber for my daughter and they would send me 5.00 off and so on and as she got older they sent coupons for baby food as well. I know some other baby formula company's also do the coupons if u want something other then gerber.

huggies has a mailing list and does occasionally send out samples, but mostly coupons...pampers sends coupons too!! I know you were asking abt free, but most compenies just send coupons!! It's a bummer, I know..I LOVE free stuff!! Lol..

does either imitrex or maxalt contain caffeine? I was taking Maxalt for migraines and it worked great! Now my insurance has decided I need to try Imitrex before they will approve coverage for the Maxalt. The Imitrex took about 2 hours to have any effect, but eventually my headache subsided. Since then I have had recurring headaches for 4 days.

so there is no reason to become an addict or to crave the medication, but ones body will still become highly dependent on the medication to a point that if you take the body off the medication abruptly you can cause seizures and even death... Imitrex is NOT like that!! Imitrex does not cause any sort of high or euphoria so you cannot become addicted to it, you will not "crave" it when you are not in pain...
