imitrex

Avatar f tn does either imitrex or maxalt contain caffeine? I was taking Maxalt for migraines and it worked great! Now my insurance has decided I need to try Imitrex before they will approve coverage for the Maxalt. The Imitrex took about 2 hours to have any effect, but eventually my headache subsided. Since then I have had recurring headaches for 4 days.
Avatar m tn I am so glad that you asked about imitrex! I take a triptan, like imitrex, and personally I think that triptans are the best treatment for acute migraines, and they are also the most prescribed medication for acute migraines.
Avatar f tn s experience with the imitrex has been - good or bad - and if they have any other tips of things I can try (non-medicinal) to reduce the pain, etc., of the migraines. Fortunately, (knock on wood), I haven't had a migraine since I saw my doc on thursday, so I haven't tried the imitrex yet. I'm always leary/hesitant about ANY new medication, so would definitely appreciate any advice about this med that anyone might have. Thanks so much!
Avatar f tn Bern sneezing like crazy past few days and both of my girls have colds. My mom gave me imitrex. Worked wonders. (And my mom said my blood pressure is normally low. Unless i get worked up.) I need positive energy please!
Avatar n tn thanx and i know exactly what you mean by the energy and motivation and it does take a little bit to get back to normal i would suggest taking some vitamins a good multivitamin i used the centrum energy and vit c and a good bit more but i wont name all of them but a good multivitamin in my mind is a must and for the energy i found that those little 5 hour power shots worked pretty good and they have the L-tyrosine in them that is mentioned in the thomas recipe to but if you do try them def dont
Avatar n tn I have been put on everything from narcotics (which I refuse and hate) to Beta Blockers. (Which Do help) Currently on Propanol. But my very FIRST and ONLY time using Imitrex Oral Capsule. I took the medication and I was sitting in my reclining chair and in about 15 mins I became paralyzed for 2.5-3 hours. I had no other medications in my system. I DO NOT use drugs or drink alcohol. Only Imitrex. My husband honestly thought I was joking. I could not lift my head.
Avatar f tn Is it safe to take sudafed while youre pregnant? Im 22 weeks and I just want to make sure its not going to hurt my little girl?
Avatar f tn My dr. ok just plain Sudafed.
Avatar f tn I've been sick off and on a lot with my sinuses my ob told me to take sudafed so I'm taking the nasal decongestant sudafed that the pharmacy said was safe. My concern is I haven't heard good things about taking it anyone else taking it and everything turned out ok with their baby? 29weeks tomorrow also.
Avatar f tn I am a 13 year old girl and I have been taking sudafed for 4 days now and OI was just awoken shaking uncontrollably could this be why? This discussion is related to shaking at night when I wake up in the middle of the night.
Avatar f tn Im 6 months and I am so congested and have ear ache, is it safe to take sudafed????
Avatar f tn So my Dr told me to take Sudafed for this head cold. However, they were adamant that I make sure I get the kind we have to sign for and not the OTC one. I was wondering why because I know the one we sign for has the stuff that people use to make meth but the OTC stuff does not. So what is the difference?
1051752 tn?1253833456 Advil is not migraine medication and can cause problems by making headaches worse. Imitrex is migraine medication that is specifically for migraine and it will stop a migraine. Most migraines do not come with aura. Take that into consideration when you get a headache that feels exactly like your regular migraine just without an aura. That means you are having a migraine. You don't need an aura to have a migraine. Take your migraine medication for a migraine.
221913 tn?1372276661 I sure understand what you going through with the migrains This week I had 4 its the worse I cant talk, see, nausea and the pain feels like my head is about to pop. I take Imitrex 50 mg works so fast for me, I also tie a scarf to help with pressure from the migrain.Maybe you should ask your dr for MRI of head . Just to be on the safe side. BE STRONG YOU COULD DO IT. Cierra hope you feel better.
Avatar n tn Ask your doctor for Imitrex 100mg, is not narcotic, non addictive and it takes away your migraine right away. I'm also a migraine surferer and have tried a lot of medications and Imitrex works wonders.
Avatar f tn Well a few days ago I started having flu like symptoms so I look at the paper and it basically says Sudafed for colds and Tylenol for pain or fever, but no Ibuprofen. I start taking the Sudafed for a few days, doesn't really help.. Only for the body aches. Well last night I had a fever of 101.4 so I decided to go to the ER just to be safe. Turns out I don't have the flu, just a really bad viral infection. They ask me what I've been taking and I said Sudafed.
Avatar f tn lots of fluids, rest, and if okay by ur dr its usually safe to take benadryl and then I was told regular sudafed or Robitussin...hope u feel better...
1046692 tn?1255391835 Is it safe to take Lexapro and Imitrex? There is a warning on the package against this but I thought I would ask the professionals first.
1056589 tn?1273747102 Imitrex is also not the only triptan on the market, there are quite a few. If you do end up using the Imitrex and you feel you have an adverse reaction to it, one that is not life-threatening but one that you do not enjoy... there are still other triptans to try.
Avatar f tn I find that I have to space them out by many hours or I get very jittery if take as an example Sudafed and my Synthroid together ... I make a judgment call and usually take the Sudafed in the AM and then do the Synthroid much later ... together they make me very anxiety ridden for hours.
Avatar f tn Tylenol cold and sudafed are on my safe list of medications to take for a cold that my doctor gave me.
Avatar n tn m so glad i got a response, well lets see, this headache thing is just random, smtimes it can go on for days smtimes just an hr, its usually the right side of my head and usually a hammering kind of pain accompanied with nausea and a sensitivity to light n sound. or most of the time i just wake up with a really heavy head. i've had an EEG if thats what they call it n a head scan, everything appeared normal, i really wanna know whats going on.
1079216 tn?1258200805 Usually the bioavailability of a nasal spray will be higher than the bioavailability of a oral tablet, such as with the triptan Zomig, where the bioavailability of the oral tablets is 40% and the bioavailability of the nasal spray is 102% (when the bioavailability is higher than 100% it means that the medication by that route works better then it would by intravenous injection), although this sort of increase between oral administration and nasal administration is not the case with Imitrex.
979080 tn?1323433639 I have suffered exploding head syndrome (also known as migraines) for many, many years. I found that Imitrex didn't work and when they were severe would have to go to the hospital and be shot full of demerol and vistaril (an antihistamine that made me sleep). It was not until I could sleep would they go away. That sometimes was several rounds from bounceback migraines and I'd be in the ER for days (happened about 4 - 6 months ago).
Avatar f tn m not sure if my body had simply grown tolerant being on the same dose dly for 5-6 yrs or if it was because of the increased demands my body had to go through this past year, but I made the difficult decision to increase my oxycontin to 50mg three times dly. I have also been on fioricet and imitrex PRN for my many headaches and migraines. I suspect that my headaches have increased in frequency and intensity to the point that I have them daily because of all the meds I take.
Avatar f tn I would call and make an appt with your primary, they know what you can and can't take while pregnant. Good luck and feel better soon!!
