Thank you so much. I tried calling a neuro, but I need a doctor's referal to go to one. The doctor I've been to just listened to me for about 5 minutes and gave me imitrex...and only 6 of them. I'm not sure if he will let me go to a neurologist or not, I have to go back and see him in two weeks, but thanks so much for your response, you're the first that ididn't actually tell me there wasn't anything to treat it.

I have had 2 sets of TSH and T3 T4 tests in the last 6 months. The TSH is 0.32, and the T3, and T4 are said to be normal. I have insomnia, feel like my skin is crawling, increased anxiety, irritability, my joints and muscles ache, I am exhausted the majority of the time. Something is just not right. There are times that I feel tingling in my arms and legs.I am having trouble focusing and concentrating at my job, and with simple things at home. I have suffered with migraines for over 20 years.

does either imitrex or maxalt contain caffeine? I was taking Maxalt for migraines and it worked great! Now my insurance has decided I need to try Imitrex before they will approve coverage for the Maxalt. The Imitrex took about 2 hours to have any effect, but eventually my headache subsided. Since then I have had recurring headaches for 4 days.

I am so glad that you asked about imitrex! I take a triptan, like imitrex, and personally I think that triptans are the best treatment for acute migraines, and they are also the most prescribed medication for acute migraines.

s experience with the imitrex has been - good or bad - and if they have any other tips of things I can try (non-medicinal) to reduce the pain, etc., of the migraines. Fortunately, (knock on wood), I haven't had a migraine since I saw my doc on thursday, so I haven't tried the imitrex yet. I have been put on everything from narcotics (which I refuse and hate) to Beta Blockers. (Which Do help) Currently on Propanol. But my very FIRST and ONLY time using Imitrex Oral Capsule. I took the medication and I was sitting in my reclining chair and in about 15 mins I became paralyzed for 2.5-3 hours. I had no other medications in my system. I DO NOT use drugs or drink alcohol. Only Imitrex. My husband honestly thought I was joking. I could not lift my head.

Advil is not migraine medication and can cause problems by making headaches worse. Imitrex is migraine medication that is specifically for migraine and it will stop a migraine. Most migraines do not come with aura. Take that into consideration when you get a headache that feels exactly like your regular migraine just without an aura. That means you are having a migraine. You don't need an aura to have a migraine. Take your migraine medication for a migraine.

When I looked it up it said that certain anti-depressants and tramadol can have bad interactions like those. Another one is imitrex and paxil. They gave me imitrex when I was hospitalized with migraines and was taking paxil. My heart rate plunged to 33 bpm and my blood pressure went to 170/100. My husband was freaking out and googled imitrex on his phone while the nurse had been putting it in my IV, so he told them right away. "Those meds interact!

Ask your doctor for Imitrex 100mg, is not narcotic, non addictive and it takes away your migraine right away. I'm also a migraine surferer and have tried a lot of medications and Imitrex works wonders.

Imitrex is also not the only triptan on the market, there are quite a few. If you do end up using the Imitrex and you feel you have an adverse reaction to it, one that is not life-threatening but one that you do not enjoy... there are still other triptans to try.

I have suffered exploding head syndrome (also known as migraines) for many, many years. I found that Imitrex didn't work and when they were severe would have to go to the hospital and be shot full of demerol and vistaril (an antihistamine that made me sleep). It was not until I could sleep would they go away. That sometimes was several rounds from bounceback migraines and I'd be in the ER for days (happened about 4 - 6 months ago).

m not sure if my body had simply grown tolerant being on the same dose dly for 5-6 yrs or if it was because of the increased demands my body had to go through this past year, but I made the difficult decision to increase my oxycontin to 50mg three times dly. I have also been on fioricet and imitrex PRN for my many headaches and migraines. I take paxil 25 cr now and it is working pretty good. My doc upped me to 37.5 and I noticed no difference either so went back down to 25 without a problem. I think as long as you are taking paxil going down on dose is not an issue, it's if you go off all at once but my son who is 14 and has just developed panic attacks was put on zoloft 50 mgs and it has helped him. I took zoloft first but gave me gastro problems so doc wanted me to switch.

so there is no reason to become an addict or to crave the medication, but ones body will still become highly dependent on the medication to a point that if you take the body off the medication abruptly you can cause seizures and even death... Imitrex is NOT like that!! Imitrex does not cause any sort of high or euphoria so you cannot become addicted to it, you will not "crave" it when you are not in pain...

What about Aleve, indomethacin, and the triptans (Zomig, Imitrex, Maxalt, Relpax) in the event that I do end up getting a migraine during this time? I was told I could take tylenol, not that it would dent one of my headaches. I asked the audiologists office but apparently they forgot to ask and now the audiologist is out of town. I just found this, and I wanted to make a comment on the chance there are anxiety sufferers who are also being treated for breast cancer. It make be a well know issue now, but when my wife began Tamoxifen treatment following her breast cancer surgery and radiation, I saw an article on TV regarding drug interaction between Paxil and Tamoxifen. We immediately mentioned it to my wife's oncologist, and he initially dismissed it and told my wife to continue to take the two drugs as prescribed.

What happens if i find out im pregnant and am on Paxil? I hear that it is very bad to be on Paxil especially during the first trimester. I definately want to come off of it-but i cant do it cold turkey being that the withdrawal symptoms are pretty bad. If, in the past, i missed a dose-I would begin feeling very dizzy and nauseaus. Im sure this affect or worse wouldnt be good for the baby either. If I ween myself off slowly-im still taking Paxil in my system during the first trimester.

He has never suffered from anxiety before. His shrink upped the Paxil to 20mg and gave him a low dose of xanax (0.25mg and later 0.5mg) to take as needed. He also takes clonozapan as needed, but both these drugs make him fuzzy or put him to sleep, so he can't function/work when he takes them. The past week has been horrendous. He wakes up terrified! Sweating, heart racing, crying, and terrified to leave the house.

Hello. Does anyone in this group take Paxil and crave alcohol? I do and never did before....I told my Dr. and he said Paxil doesn't cause alcohol cravings. He also wants to keep me on Paxil..I just want off it..

I don't know if it's Paxil or the seizures. I didn't start having seizures until I was on Paxil for a little while, and I didn't have short term memory loss until after I started taking Paxil. It all correlates to the same time. I'm concerned because I have read other people having the same complaint about it. I am seeing a doctor this coming Monday, though, to find out for sure. I shouldn't have to be 22 years old with a worse memory than my grandmother.
