imitrex and lexapro drug interaction

Is it safe to take Lexapro and Imitrex? There is a warning on the package against this but I thought I would ask the professionals first.

Bedtime medications: Seroquel 25 mg, Lexapro 20 mg, Lithium 150 mg, Tylenol 500mg, Colace 100 mg, Senna 2 tabs, Flexeril 10mg. Family member is experiencing hallucinations. Is there a drug interaction here?

I take Toprol for high blood pressure and I checked some drug interaction websites and they advise that Paxil and Toprol can have some kind of interaction with your heart so I'm thinking I have to use a different anxiety/anti-depressant medication or else switch my high blood pressure medication. Ziac is for high blood pressure and I doubt you have this at 20! Do you know why it was given to you? Imitrex is for migraines, do you get migraine headaches? Lexapro is used to treat anxiety and obcessive compulsive disorders (OCD). This is where one keeps doing something repeatedly, like handwashing, cleaning, checking locks, etc. People with OCD often have ADHD as well. Lexapro can calm you and help you concentrate, but it doesn't sound like it's working for you.

I am so glad that you asked about imitrex! I take a triptan, like imitrex, and personally I think that triptans are the best treatment for acute migraines, and they are also the most prescribed medication for acute migraines.

It actually should be the pharmacy that would deny you filling it if they see a contraindication, whether it has to do with a drug allergy they are concerned might have implications for you taking Lexapro (ie a related drug), a drug interaction, you are taking other medication that would be vying for the same receptors in your body, or if it would be harmful for you to take with a medical condition you have.

Oh, something you might want to hear about: Nurse finally figured out today that my Lexapro interacts with my interferon and crashes platelets even worse. I took Celexa for a little while, platelets dropped. Started taking it again and they really dropped. Stopped it, went up. Started Lexapro and they dropped. Went to half dose and they went up. I mentioned interaction to the nurse long ago. Celexa & Lexapro are almost the same drug.

I went to pick up my Tramadol for the pharmacy and they said they would not fill because of drug ineractions with the lexapro and said the Dr. would have to sign off on the refill, which she did. The fact that the pharmacy said there were drug ineractions I thought I would quit taking and the fatique has taken over so bad I was unable to work. does either imitrex or maxalt contain caffeine? I was taking Maxalt for migraines and it worked great! Now my insurance has decided I need to try Imitrex before they will approve coverage for the Maxalt. The Imitrex took about 2 hours to have any effect, but eventually my headache subsided. Since then I have had recurring headaches for 4 days.

i am currently on 60 mgs of methadone a day and 1.5 mgs of klonopin, trying to wean down to nothing. i was at 4mgs of klonopin a day and 4 mgs of lorazepam a night. now im down to 1.5 mgs of clonazepama dn 23mgs of lorazepam. i dont ever have any problems with the two but i personally know ppl who have died from benzo and methadone combos.

I've followed this research, and from what I've learned the drug interaction of Plavix and PPI's (proton pump inhibitors) is not not that strong. I doubted the report from the start as I took Plavix and PPI's and my blood was as thin as tea, I bruised very, very easily, and the blood tests to determine my clotting factor wasn't changed by taking the two drugs.

anything that is a stimulant is also causes increased agitation...and if you are trying to become more peaceful and less agitated, then they are not good for you.

All you need to do is google drug interactions. There are a few really good sites that you punch in your meds and it warns you of the interactions. Every drug has side effects.

d Google Lexapro and look at drug interaction precautions. Also, how are the drugs working for you? If they seem to be causing more problems than they fix, definitely talk to your doc.
