Avatar m tn MY HIV TEST IS NEGATIVE AND VDRL IS ALSO NEGATIVE. I HAD USED IMIQUIMOD FOR 25 DAYS BUT STILL WARTS ARE THERE. WILL THEY CLEAR, WHAT WILL BE THE SYMTOM OF THERE CLEARING, WHAT TEST SHALL I GO FOR TO KNOW WHAT TYPE OF HPV I HAD.
Avatar n tn I have talked to several docs some use cryo but I have not found any that use laser. None even brought up imiquimod which I learned about online and feel that it might be best in my situation. It seems they prescribe whatever they are familiar with. Also a transmission question. Would my partner get the condyloma exactly where my affected skin touched theres? or could it pop up anywhere on them once they have contracted it? Also does my sperm carry the hpv virus?
Avatar f tn I feel it's consuming my daily life and sleep. Should I stick with the imiquimod or just get the surgery?
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with type 6 or 11 HPV last week when my gyno discovered a few warts on the hymen area. I was devestated. He gave me Imiquimod and it seems to be having amazing results except one thing: I'm in so much pain I can't go to the bathroom without crying or screaming. I called the doc and he gave me lidocaine which helps but even putting it on initially is unbearable. What can I do to soothe this pain? Its rattling my nerves and I'm horrified to go to the bathroom.
Avatar m tn Hello, In 90% of cases, the body’s immune system clears HPV naturally within two years. But, sometimes, HPV infections are not cleared and can have HPV even if years have passed since he or she had sexual contact with an infected person. Hence risk of transmission are there. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar m tn Hello, For small warts, several medications(like podophyllum resin, Podofilox (Condylox), Trichloroacetic and bichloroacetic acids, Imiquimod 5% cream and interferons) are available, which can be applied directly to the surface of the warts.Other treatment options include electrical cautery, surgical removal, Carbon dioxide laser treatment and electrodesiccation. Injections are not given usually.
Avatar m tn She may be at little risk of catching HPV from you; and even if she were to be infected, probably no harm would result. To your specific questions: First question (unnumbered): Continued anal bleeding indicates something abnormal is going on. You might have an anal fissure, which can result from imiquimod (Aldara). Or hemorrhoids. You should be reevaluated by the doctor or clinic that treated your warts. 1) The large majority of anal wart infections do not lead to anal cancer.
Avatar n tn I was prescribed Aldara (imiquimod) to get rid of a few perianal HPV warts since cryotherapy was only making it worse. After only about 2 weeks of usage almost all symptoms of the warts were gone however I now have perianal psoriasis in its place. That is one of the side-effects of imiquimod and it mainly strikes people whom are genetically prone to having psoriasis.

Avatar m tn 2013 who said my 3 bumps on penile shaft and pubic area is most likely hpv wart. He did biopsy in apr.2013 and the report said -squamous epthelial hyperplasia with koilocytic changes suggestive of condyloma acuminata. Also mentioned is immunostain with p16 which is surrogate marker for hpv infection is non informative. what is your interpretation of the above words. Am i confirmed for hpv?is p16 staining was done to find cancerous sub types?
Avatar n tn But it is no more effective than other patient-applied treatments available for several years, like podofilox (Condylox) and imiquimod (Aldara). I won't have any further comments on this thead.
Avatar n tn I initially saw a doctor at a walk-in-clinic who was quick to diagnose it as an HPV wart and prescribe me Vyloma (Imiquimod) cream to apply it until it goes away. I was extremely concerned so I made an appointment at a local sexual health clinic for that same day, and the doctor there told me it was indeed a wart but most likely not HPV. My question is this: - Should I use the Imiquimod regardless? Can it help even if it is not an HPV wart?
Avatar f tn I'm only 17 I've been with my sex partner for two years he has now started to form genital warts and he accused me of sleeping with someone else when neither of us have been with anybody else i mean it's been two years. I can't tell my parents. What should i do? Is it even possible to have it for two years with no warts till now?

Avatar m tn I'd like to shed somemore light onto why I think its HPV/warts and add some symptoms. I woke up one morning and the right side cheek of my face was red(nothing alarming but def. erythematous) I also noticed it was a little dry and flaky. Lastly, in that area, my cheek seemed to be caved in as if it was reacting to the irritation, it has remained like that ever since. I noticed some flat bumps in that area, throughout the subsequent days in class, It was oddly irritating/warm/painful.
Avatar f tn Some of us think that you are contagious for the rest of our lives and not only must you tell every partner of the possibility that they may get infected by you and that you need to practice very safe sex for the rest of your life in every sex act. This is the part that most of us are struggling with. 3. If you intend to have children with your husband the old fashioned way (sex), then you won't know if you will infect your husband during the act of conception or not.
Avatar n tn Assuming you actually have warts, there are several recommended treatments, both provider-applied (freezing, podophyllin, and bi- or trichloroacetic acid) and prescriptions products named podofilox (Condylox) and imiquimod (Aldara). All are more or less equally effective, although some work better in some persons.
Avatar n tn Dr. I had some questions about HPV and was hoping you could help. I recently had one tiny wart removed from the penile shaft and have no others currently. The Dr scraped it out and cauterized the wound. My questions are: 1) Is there a better way to remove them if they occur again and is it painful(such as freezing them) 2)How long could someone have HPV and not know it 3) Is it true people with 5 or more partners in their lifetime have almost certainly had HPV at some point?
Avatar m tn the bi- or tri-chloroacetic acid and/or one or two treatments with imiquimod (Zyclara -- exactly the same as Aldara) probably would cure it. Even if it was a wart, there is no need to worry now about protecting your girlfriend. If it was a wart, then the HPV infection causing it has been present for at least a couple of months, and she has already been repeatedly exposed. It's even possible she has an HPV infection that you acquired from her.
Avatar m tn Despite this fact, only a tiny minority of persons with HPV get the consequences of infection (primarily women and primarily cancer and pre-cancerous lesions). HPV is the most commonly acquired STD. Over 85% of sexually active women will have HPV infection at some time in their lives and within two years of starting to have sex, whether with a single partner or not, on average about 2/3 of persons will have HPV. The figure for men is less well studied but similar.
1297646 tn?1275465752 Can HPV and Genital Warts Cause Complications? Yes. Some types of HPV can cause anal and penis cancer, as well as vulvar and cervical cancer. It is important that if your partner has abnormal cervical cells, detected in a PAP test, that she has regular pelvic examinations and further PAP tests so that any cancer can be treated as quickly as possible. (Early detection of cancer increases cure rates).
Avatar m tn 1) Pap smears are not a test for HPV. Many women have HPV and entirely normal pap smears. All that can be said is that your partner does not currently have abnormal cervical cells of the type that indicate HPV or a risk for future cancer. That's good to know, and should be reassuring. But it says nothing about whether or not she might currently be infected with the HPV strain causing your warts. 2) There's no point in closing the barn door after the horse has escaped.
1256465 tn?1269665299 Hello and thanks for your help, I had/have hpv. It was one wart a year ago and after I had it frozen off I never had any come back. However, I have developed some sort of obsession with it, and have gone to great lengths to prevent it from coming back. I have taken Aldara when there were no signs symptoms, as a preventative action; perhaps killing, or at least hindering the virus.
Avatar m tn I was prescribed this SUPER expensive cream (no insurance) called Imiquimod 5% cream, generic for Aldera, and I have been applying it for about a week and a half. I must admit that I have not been taking it exactly like I was told because there seemed to be a little wiggle room regarding application schedules. 3x a week, M/W/F or T/Th/S, the Dr. even said I could do it for 3 days in a row and be done for the week.
Avatar f tn The warts were surgically removed and the area treated with imiquimod. There were no further warts and he visited his proctologist a couple more times and all is ok In October 2014 he was diagnosed with hodgkins lymphoma stage 2. He was treated with 4 rounds of chemo (etoposide, Adriamycin, vinecristyn, citoxan and bleomycin). Thank god he is in remission and is a healthy guy today. Do we still have to worry about HPV present in his body?
15953119 tn?1447147561 First, please forgive my poor English and thank you guys for helping me. About 16 days ago, I received unprotected insertive fellatio. On the 10th days(Oct, 1st), I found that there were three or four tiny bumps on my penis without pains or itch. The color of these bumps are same as my skin. 6 days past, they did not change. So my question is that is possible for me to get genital warts(HPV) by blowjob(top to 1 minute)?
Avatar m tn I've started to notice these skin tags on my foreskin by the glands and what not. They said it's HPV and i got tested for other stuff which came out negative. Since those bumps were too small they can't use acid or whatever to get rid of them and they didn't give me any cream for it. I bought this russian liquid that supposedly is good against these things. It like burns them off and i used it. It hurt like hell and i had to quickly wash it off but it did the trick i guess.
