Avatar n tn Hello, I am a 29 year old female, 5'4 and 131 pounds. I recently lost over 100 pounds in the course of a year through diet and exercise. (starting weight 244 in September of 2010). I have always been overweight, and now have a lot of excess skin, which is to be expected. My question is about my ideal weight. My goal started at 150 pounds, then 140, then 130, now I'm thinking my ideal would be 120.
Avatar n tn Your ideal weight depends on your age, as well as your height and weight. A child's ideal weight will be different from that of a teenager and a teenager will be different from that of an adult. There are a variety of exercises that will burn fat.
Avatar f tn Shorter women will need to aim for a lower weight than taller women, it means shorter women need to exercise and eat less more than taller women do. Commit to regular exercise to help you get in shape and reach your fitness goals. To lose or gain weight, adjust your daily caloric intake according to your ideal body weight. Step 1 Determine what your goal weight should be.
479244 tn?1271563659 Does anyone know anything about the IDEAL study? This is where I think the info came from regarding my original decision to go with the pegintron.... less relapse rate, less sides, stays in system shorter amt. of time when you come off , etc. My new nurse, said that study had a lot of flaws and she did not put a lot of faith in it and talked me into pegysus... any comments would be appreciated.
Avatar f tn Given your height of 5'4", a body weight of about 146 lb. would give you a BMI of about 25, which would put you at the top of the range of what is generally considered an appropriate weight.
Avatar f tn your best weight depends on several factors besides your age. How tall are you? What is your body type, i.e., small boned, large boned, average boned, medium boned. The best thing to do is type into your internet, "Ideal weight, or what is my ideal weight"? The internet will help you figure it out. I am 5'11" tall and my ideal weight would be 105 lbs. (if I were younger) to 112 lbs. I have a small frame.
Avatar f tn m almost 25 weeks, and have gained 7 lbs now. 25 lbs is the ideal for smaller women. Overweight women are only supposed to gain about 25. I gained 40 with my son and it was bad lol. I'm hoping to keep it less then 25 lbs with my daughter. Every one is different. My sister is almost 27 weeks and has g gained 30 lbs already but and needed it. It's her 3rd baby and she's so skinny. She started at 107 lbs and shes 26. With my son 4 years ago I started at 109 and ended at 150.
Avatar n tn My throat swells up after taking every different type of thryoid medication after a month. (I tried 4 different kinds) I'm not sure what to do. My thryoid endocrinologist says I simply need to lose weight (20 pounds). She says I do not have a thyroid problem. It is just my body working harder with the extra weight. My TSH ranges around 2-4. I haven't been in the ideal range for years and it is is affecting my fertility.
Avatar n tn Well, 110 pounds in the ideal weight of someone about 5 ft. not 5'5. You are actually already the ideal weight of 5'5 women. When I was 17, I was 110 pounds, but I am 5'2 1/2 and it was actually a little on thin side for me, but I do remember thinking I wanted to be thinner. Don't look at the scale, but really look in the mirror. I bet you look great, and it sounds like you probably have a good figure.

Avatar f tn Treadmills and other cardio machines are ideal for helping you burn calories to lose weight. Try to avoid leaning heavily on the handrails. Check the gym's weight-training area to learn how to use a weight-training machine. For beginners, machines are a suitable way to exercise without the risk of using dangerous, incorrect form with free weights. Always consult the machine's instructions before use. Avoid overtraining.

Avatar f tn I am 21 yrs old, 28 weeks pregnant & this is my first baby. I have been debating on if I want to have a natural med free birth or if I should go 4 the epidural.. I've always said that I wanted to have a natural birth but every1 tells me I'm crazy, it's going 2 hurt 2 much & such things. I have had a few tell me that the epidural is good 4 the pain of the contractions but is no good 4 the birth. I'll feel all the pain of that anyway. So, might as well go natural right??

Avatar f tn Your midwife or doctor will let you know how much weight is ideal for you to put on during your pregnancy. If you have a normal BMI they say between 11 - 16kg weight gain is fine.. I at 29w and I think I have gained around 10kg so far, but in the beginning weight gain was very slow! At this stage I think your fine :) But remember weight gain is not all you putting on weight.. bub, fluid, placenta all add to it.
Avatar n tn That's 196 lbs.? As you say, not that bad, though of course you could lose some; is ideal weight for 5'11 about 144 lbs? In any case, I have known plenty of bigger girls who have gotten pregs. It can be an issue especially in relation to blood pressure, so by all means do what you can to drop some weight, but I would also drop the tactless doctor and get a different one who can give you good weight-loss advice. Is there a Weight Watchers group near where you are? They are great.

Avatar f tn Get active (even taking a stroll after repasts or something like that to set alight calories) -Eat a allotment of protein, fiber, and entire grains to command appetite -DO NOT EAT: Trans fats, msg, maize syrup, high fructose maize syrup, hydrogenated oils or diet sodas (most diet sodas comprise aspartame, an artificial sweetener that has been the subject of much argument because of it's reported edge effects) -Instead of utilising white table sugar or splenda as a sweetener, use stevia (a na
