Ideal weight running

Common Questions and Answers about Ideal weight running

451075 tn?1210262248 My blood pressure is always normal, my blood work is too, I am just 4 pounds above my ideal weight (169 vs 165). My doctor listened to my heart and says it is good, no noises or something like that. In the past 6 months I have been really working on improving my health. I have been dieting and eating high protein and complex carbs meals, 6 times a day (small meals). I eliminated all pop, alcohol from my diet. I only drink tea and water. My problem started happening in the past 2 weeks.
Avatar f tn What food is beneficial after running? I am losing weight. After running, when can I eat? Thank you!
Avatar f tn I do a lot of my running in the gym on a treadmill and I have found that warming up on the Orbitrek where there is no jarring works well. This is not ideal for outside running but I expect some kind of non-jarring warm-up will work. Thanks for helping sort my problem out!
Avatar n tn Hi all, I'm looking for information on the "ideal diet" (nutritionally speaking) for a healthy, reasonably active average male. I'm not talking about "servings" of this or that - I'm interested in the core information such as how many grams of protein, carbs, fiber, fat that one should eat per day. Thanks in advance for any useful links or other info anyone can provide.
2047155 tn?1527167564 Finally -your weight is at 163 it says so your ideal is 123? Please double check that that is a healthy weight for you to be at. Keep in mind that BMI has it's limits so when you get down there listen to your body- if it feel's good at any specific weight in the healthy range, maybe that's where you're supposed to be.
Avatar f tn You should be shooting around -2 lbs a week. Keep in mind at first (when you have excess weight) you'll lose weight very quickly, and as you get skinnier it gets a little harder. If you ever find yourself at a plateau, where you're not losing anymore weight just drop your calorie intake a little more. Its as simple as that! I strongly strongly STRONGLY advise you do some workouts (arms legs chest etc) while you're doing this.
1467664 tn?1288582913 Thyroid disease is more common with us type 1's and that could make it very hard to lose weight. Do get a simple blood test for your thyroid fuction. One sure way that type 1's gain weight is to go by the philosophy of "eat whatever I want and bolus for it". That means more carbs, more insulin, more weight and possible development of insulin resistance which you do not want! I would suggest lowering your carb intake as much as you can.
228463 tn?1216765121 I don't know if I'm up for trying to lose weight right now. I DO have about 20 lbs. I should lose to be at my ideal weight, though. My doc wants me to exerciZe. Have been walking every other day (and trying to recover from it every OTHER day, know what I mean?) I shall give it a go. But my heart is not in it. How's that for a good ole Hypo Gamma Chondria gal? Tee Hee!
29837 tn?1414538248 Here is a quote regarding response to treatment and weight of a person. "Factors Influencing the Anti Viral Response As with all other anti viral therapies for hepatitis C, the particular genotype of the infecting virus has the greatest influence on the sustained virological response to therapy. In those individuals infected with genotype 1, the expected SVR ranges from 43-46% and in those with genotype 2 or 3 infections, from 76-82%.
Avatar n tn Everything I've read says a BMI of 20..? is ideal for getting pregnant. Well, I'm a bit under (between 18 and 19) and I've been told (not by my doctor) that I might want to try gaining 5 to 10 lbs. Ack! Actually, this is very difficult for me to do, physically and psychologically. I was into running marathons, but I've cut my exercise level drastically and now run ~ 20 miles per week with yoga thrown in. I've always cycled regularly, but now I wonder if I was ovulating!!
Avatar n tn This formula shows you 'roughly' how many calories your body needs to maintain its current weight - so to lose weight you have to eat less calories per day.... What is your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR)? Basal Metabolic Rate =Ideal Body Wt in lbs. X 13 calories per day. So for me it 150lbs x 13 = 1950 What is your Activity Caloric Level (ACL)? If you are bedridden, find 10% of your BMR. If you are moderately active, find 30% of your BMR. If you are very active, find 50% of your BMR.
Avatar f tn I am thinking of asking my doctor to add on Topomax. I have read that it helps with weight loss and I am having a really hard time with my weight due to all of the other meds. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?? Thank you in advance.
367974 tn?1286554758 I am on the straight and narrow though now I have this little angel in me! apparently my ideal weight is 52kg's but I dont want to be that thin id look like a wafer biscuit! i have pcos and i am insulin resistance. i am a relatively strong and fit person though and I eat well. I have had laprascopic gastric banding and I have had some success. I havent been as succesful as some people whove had it but it at least it keeps me in check.
Avatar f tn Ok, so I'm now wondering if my struggles to lose or even maintain my weight could possibly be correlated to Chiari or intracranial pressure issues. A little back story: I gained about 50 lbs over 2-3 months after a miscarriage about 14 yrs ago. My body went haywire. I got pregnant again a few months later. Healthy, normal pregnancy and delivery. I was about 270 full-term pregnant. My ideal is about 180: I'm 5'10" and large build. I never could lose weight.
443968 tn?1288616289 I guess that age matter too and also when I became pregnant I was already over my ideal body weight, I was weighting 145 when I my ideal body weight is 125-130. To become pregnant I had to have series of infertility treatment for about 4 and half years, so I was taking a lot of hormones and having to inject them too for a long time, so this made me gain weight too, that is why I was already over when I became preggo, and the first 4 months of my pregnancy I was kept on hormone injections too.
Avatar n tn However, I was gaining some weight already because I had to quit running (which I started around age 23 to combat weight gain due to a slowing metabolism) due to my TOS, so I think most of it is due to lack of physical activity because of my current physical limitations, and a diet that could, in truth, be better (it's hard to train yourself to eat healthy 24/7/365 when you used to be thin and able to eat whatever whenever). In short, you're 37.
Avatar m tn The muscle-building ideal is 20 grams of protein, half before and half after your workout. Bring these convenient snacks to the gym to fuel growth. Chicken, Turkey, or Tuna (3 oz) 14-22 grams protein 66-100 calories Wrap one of these standbys in a piece of whole grain bread.
Avatar m tn If anyone told me during treatment that I'd have a problem losing weight a year later, I'd think they were crazy. During treatment I lost over 30 lbs, a lot of it lean muscle mass, and most of it within the first three months of treating. Within three months of ending treatment, all the weight came back but not surprisngly a greater proportion came back as fat as opposed to muscle.
Avatar n tn I would say that it is a 50/50 chance whether you would lose weight in the long run as the product wasn't designed as a weight loss product. (but I'm not a doctor so your dr. might be able to tell you what to expect).
Avatar n tn after my hysterectomy at 45yrs old I am gaining weight fast...never had mood swings or sweats...taking no harmones..does anything help?Trying all over the counter pills and etc. nothing working...HELP!!
Avatar n tn I have digenerative disc disease and my neirologist just prescribed topamax, he said it would help with the pain and tingling but could result in weight loss. I am wondering if prescribing topamax for ddd is common among neurologists? I can't seem to find any other information related to topamax as a pain med, only information I have is that it's a powerful drug with lots of side effects, most not so good. The weight loss aspect is the only plus...
Avatar f tn Hi, when losing weight you need to really plan how you want to do this. Starving yourself for more than a few days, will just cause your metabolism to go into a kind of power-save mode, meaning the whole process just slows itself down and you are not burning calories as easily. If you want to lose weight like this but without harming your metabolism, the best thing to do is to gradually cut down the calories, so it doesn't come as a shock to your body.
Avatar n tn The other day my chiropractor gave me a hard time about my weight gain. He told me if I keep gaining weight then my spine and pelivs are going to suffer and that I should try to watch what I eat a little more. A few of my extended family members have been putting in their 2 cents as well. My mother-in-law keeps telling me that she only gained 20lbs through her whole pregnancy and that 2lbs per month was the recommended weight gain.
Avatar n tn Are they still monitoring your thyroid cause that is what happened to me when it went totally hyper (remember all the ice cream binges and LOSING weight LOL). Still that DOES sound ideal doesn't it? People are going to be jealous of us and want treatment as a weight loss.
Avatar n tn I lost 10 pounds using the Weight Watchers program, but I still have the extra pounds 2 years later. I had heard about weight gain while using the shot, however this is the first time I've heard anyone say anything about gaining weight afterwards. I had suspected all those hormones effected me some how, but didn't think much about it. Now it really makes me wonder....
Avatar n tn 110 pounds. Please help. This actually makes me very low self esteem becasue of this and the only way, I feel, that could help this problem is to hit my ideal weight. I am willing to do just about anything... other than lipo :) which is because i am 17 and have no money. Thank you for your help. It is greatly appreciated!!!
Avatar f tn Healthy foods can be unhealthy if eaten in the wrong quantities. Do you know how many calories you eat in a day? I really think you should look into your caloric intake and see where you are. Perhaps you're getting too many calories. Fruit is amazing, but you really shouldn't get more than 3 serves in a day as they tend to have a lot of sugar. If you have a lot of higher fat dairy, that's a lot of calories.
