Avatar n tn My question is about my ideal weight. My goal started at 150 pounds, then 140, then 130, now I'm thinking my ideal would be 120. Should I be taking into consideration the weight of the hanging skin that I can't get rid of? Am I being realistic in shooting for 120?

Coconut oil increases metabolism- Use only as a replacement for other fats. 4. Increase activity level, do some weight training (muscle burns a lot more calories than fat-don't worry, females do not "bulk" up easy,lol!), walk everywhere if possible, take the stairs instead of elevators. 5. Visualize your ideal body as often as you can!
443968 tn?1288616289 I guess that age matter too and also when I became pregnant I was already over my ideal body weight, I was weighting 145 when I my ideal body weight is 125-130. To become pregnant I had to have series of infertility treatment for about 4 and half years, so I was taking a lot of hormones and having to inject them too for a long time, so this made me gain weight too, that is why I was already over when I became preggo, and the first 4 months of my pregnancy I was kept on hormone injections too.

Avatar f tn If you have to take the medication for long then it is best to keep a realistic expectation regarding weight. As long as your weight is within the range acceptable or ideal for your age, ethnic background, height and waist circumference, you should not worry much. If you have unexpectedly high weight gain then your doctor will need to rule out endocrine disorders such as diabetes and hypothyroidism, severe anemia etc as the cause of weight gain. Please discuss with your doctor.

I talked to my doctor and his answer was "eat less, move more" a matter of 3 months, I had gained 30 pounds without eating more or moving less than I had been. I began truly eating less and moving more in an effort to lose (after all, that's what my doctor told me to do) - to no avail.......
Avatar n tn Can anyone give me an idea of how long it usually takes for your metabolism to recalibrate after stopping Effexor and/or Lexapro? I've gained significant weight while on these drugs (despite an intense exercise program and careful diet). My nutritionist and MD told me that the drugs likely altered my metabolism, but no one can tell me how long it will take to correct that. Most frustrating, I've noticed that since I stopped taking both, my weight gain has accelerated.

My back is hurting, my hips ache, my feet hurt within 30 minutes of getting up in the morning. My entire body aches. I have a full on waddle because of the hip pain. Changing my daughter's diaper and giving her a bath are getting next to impossible. I'm feeling ready to have this baby now. I need my body back!

Your goal line is way to steep to be realistic--you should be trying to lost no more than a couple pounds a week if you want to have any chance to keep it off, especially this late in the game. Third, you've only been at this for about 2 weeks.
1676558 tn?1305463705 Do what feels right for you. I myself want to get to around 170 which is a size 8 for me but all the charts say that is obese. I don't look or feel obese at that size. If you want a more formal opinion go to your doctor. They should messure your wrists and use other tools to calculte your "ideal weight". But you got to be realistic. At 42 it would be VERY hard for me to go back to 125 lbs. I don't even think I would look good being that small. And then again.

I know what the ideal BMI is and I have that as my goal. To say EVERYONE has a predisposed weight they can never alter is either an excuse or just plain backwards thinking.

I had lost 8 pounds but dont know where I am at cuz I think I gained. working out is always going to be hard on me since work takes over all my days and my energy. I am person that needs a work out partner that is consistant and does not need to rely on me but always there to be relyed on.
Avatar m tn If you have already reached then then you should work owards maintaining it and not losing weight further. Too fast weight loss can cause rebound weight gain. Also, it can cause other problems such as loose skin, flabs at unwanted places etc. Apart from losing weight, you need to tone up the body. A combination of aerobic, strength training and stretches works best. Many people find it difficult to fit an exercise regimen into their lives.

Avatar f tn Therefore trying to loose 40 lbs in 7 weeks isn't safe, healthy, or realistic. Honestly it took me 1.5 YEARS to loose 38 lbs. My weight loss hasn't been ideal as far as speed goes, but it hasn't been too fast to cause my dr's to worry. Remember weight never comes on overnight so you cannot expect it to leave any faster. Now because you're so young, you have to be very careful. You're likely still growing and so cutting down on your daily calories could be dangerous.
Avatar f tn Second thing you need to tell your friend- loosing 30 lbs in one month is not healthy, safe or realistic. Loosing weight so fast can make someone extremely sick so no matter what they do on tv (and remember they have dr's on all those weight loss shows making sure no one is going to die). It's just not really safe to do this at home. Good, safe weight loss is about 2 lbs a week, no more. Usually your first couple weeks you loose a couple pounds more, but 2 lbs is a safe average to maintain.

Avatar f tn I follow the Atkins Induction plan for 2 weeks only. I don't stay on it for the long term. Week three I add in berries and nuts. Veggies are fine on Atkins though anytime, induction and long term. By week four (or once I have lost 20% of my weight), I begin following a more "well-rounded" diet. Fruits, veggies, protein, dairy, and 1 serving of whole grains per day. The Atkins plan gives you the fastest results which I why I do this for a few weeks.

During the delivery, the IV was placed in the antebrachial vein (at the bend of her left elbow) which not only caused irritation, but during placement, had bruised the nerve that went to her arm and hand. It's still very difficult to even handle the baby, let alone breast-feed properly. So what does breast-feeding have to do with CPAP?
Avatar n tn For example say you took 10 pills a day, is it better to drop 1/4 pill each day or drop a whole pill every 4 days. I feel like I need a more realistic plan to stick to the the 20% taper per day I was attempting. It worked well for 500MG down to 100MG. Yesterday I took 75Mg but again today missed the mark bigtime. Tomorrows taper is suposed to be 60MG but even if I do get back on Track AGAIN Friday, How can I go to 45MG on Saturday.
