Avatar m tn Is that the ideal dosage or is it higher? I figure at my weight of 85 kg I was getting 1.76 mcg per kg. Now I am being dose reduced to a little over 1.05 mcg per kg (the guideline for adverse event neutropenia). There's really nothing I can do, just obsessing about the reduction. I am going to have two injections at that level before I see the doc again and hopefully go back to full dose. These will be week 8 and week 9 injections. I know it's not good especially this early.
Avatar f tn The dosage you state is correct but is not based on your actual weight. It is the general guideline based on lean body mass/ideal body weight (IBW) which is a better indicator of replacement needs. IBW is based on sex, height, and frame size. Not everyone needs full replacement and as Barb135 stated, we are all different and it is better to work upward slowly based on lab results than to risk overdose based solely on a general guideline that may or may not be right for you.
Avatar m tn Hi! Losing 5 kg weight per month is a bit drastic. The ideal aim should be to lose about half kg per week or two kg in a month. Some can effortlessly lose about 3 kg in a month. Too fast weight loss can cause rebound weight gain. Also, it can cause other problems such as loose skin, flabs at unwanted places etc. Apart from losing weight, you need to tone up the body. A combination of aerobic, strength training and stretches works best.

Avatar m tn When I started treatment I was 95 kg. I remember reading that the chances of SVR are better if you weigh 85 kg or less. Now, nearing the end of my 13th week, my weight is down to about 85 kg (as of this morning). I wonder if the weight loss help my chances of SVR? I'm on a 24 week treatment so I have another 10 weeks to go. Also, is the weight loss during treatment good for my health even if I don't attain SVR?
Avatar f tn Hi there and thanks so much for posting this question! Yes I can hear your frustration as you know it is a combination between healthy nutrition and physical exercise the most effective approach. Now lets talk first about exercise: Are you exercising too hard? You have to remember that when you exercise too hard you may be burning muscle and not fat so although you are burning calories you may replenish them after staying with high levels of fat.
Avatar m tn I have since lost about 15 KG and it is still going down @ 1 kg per month. I was happy to reach my ideal weight. However, I do not know how to stop further loss. I am Diabetic, so can not discontinue Metformin. Any suggestion ?
Avatar f tn This would be very low carb, moderate protein (about 1g / kg of body weight) and high fat. However, in your case I think you would benefit from insulin. Your fasting is still too high. And you are having to use a starvation diet in order to keep your HBA1c even at 6.2, this is not long-term sustainable.

Avatar f tn I have gained 70 pounds in 3 years. 30 of those I gained in one month. My weight stays the same - no matter what I do. My concern for those eating so little is that your body needs certain nutrients to heal. You are ill and need a healthy diet to get better. I am miserable with my weight. But I want to get well more than anything.

Avatar f tn Well, people do lose 10 kg in 2 months, though as a doctor I would caution you that it is not healthy to go for such a rapid weight loss.
Avatar f tn 8 for WEIGHT LOSS 1.0 is what I use for pets almost at ideal weight or at ideal weight that have a tendancy to gain weight. Now you can see why every manufacturer over estimates pet food quantities to feed. 1. they want to sell pet food, but 2. it's dependent on the pet and their ideal weight as opposed to their current weight. Go online to find the kcal/cup or can/pouch in the foods you feed. Most dry foods have 4-500 kcal/cup.

367974 tn?1286554758 i tired lood=sing wight is just very difficult, before my miscarried pregnancy I weighed 95k ( 209 lbs) and when I was 12 weeks and already miscarried became 105 kg (231 lbs), since then I have been trying to at least loose the weight gained in pregnancy and managed to come down to 97 kg ( 213 lbs). I am still exercising and cut down on fatty food etc but would take me for ever to loose another 5-10 kg. My hubby is desperate to try for another but Im so not ready for another miscarriage....
Avatar f tn I'm not very good at metrics so I converted 56 kg and come up with between 120-129 lb. That's not ideal but I've seen a lot more weight stacked onto a 5' body. You don't mention your body make up; eg: you say you have really big thighs. Are the muscular, a bit flabby, or littered with cellulite? You also didn't mention your age. Losing weight and/or contouring your body is really not that difficult but it does take time.
Avatar n tn Pegintron is indeed weight based, is offered in several doses, and can be further adjusted by only injecting partial loads… i.e. .3, .4 or .5 ml quantity if I recall correctly. Are you trying to reduce or increase dosage?
443968 tn?1288616289 I guess that age matter too and also when I became pregnant I was already over my ideal body weight, I was weighting 145 when I my ideal body weight is 125-130. To become pregnant I had to have series of infertility treatment for about 4 and half years, so I was taking a lot of hormones and having to inject them too for a long time, so this made me gain weight too, that is why I was already over when I became preggo, and the first 4 months of my pregnancy I was kept on hormone injections too.
Avatar f tn I know what you mean about the weight gain and self-esteem. I had lost a lot of weight and was thinner than I'd been in probably 20 years. I was riding and had a nice, flat stomach. Then we moved to this place and everything fell apart. I gained 25 pounds over 2 years. I got rid of some of it, but I feel like a whale. I hate how my clothes look. That is why I really, really hope that I don't gain anything on the lithium. It would be a huge blow. Thanks for the input.
1139187 tn?1355710247 1.6 to 1.8 mcg per kg ideal body weight. It gives this range for most women: 100 to 150 mcg Most men: 125 to 200 mcg Then it states those with severe hypoT require more medication. It also states that a person can receive full replacement dose to start treatment if they're under 60 years old. According to the site's recommendation (written by thyroid specialists), my dose should be 125 - 137 mcg. I am now on 162 mcg.
