Ideal weight depending on height

Common Questions and Answers about Ideal weight depending on height

Avatar f tn I am not understanding your height measurement, and you did not state your age. 110lbs is not an ideal weight for males unless you are under 4ft tall. A male should eat typically 2000-2500 calories per day depending on your age. If you can give me your height and age, then I can give you an accurate amount of calories per day. Hoped this helped you.
Avatar f tn Hi! There can be wide variation in weight as per height and age depending on where you live and your ethnic background. However, a weight around 125 pounds would be ideal. You can however try to maintain a weight below 130 pounds to remain in the BMI range of normal weight. So, roughly you need to lose about 40 pounds. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.
Avatar n tn I have been able to lose weight on both (about 15 pounds, give or take 5 depending on the week), but only after I gained a significant amount of weight.
Avatar m tn A normal body weight for any given height can be different for everyone, depending on their constitution, bone mass, and other factors. Nevertheless, there are a few ways to find out if you are in a "normal/healthy" range: 1. The body mass index ( Based on your data, your BMI appears to be around 29.9, which is generally considered to be very overweight. 2.
Avatar f tn I know there are several people here who can't seem to put weight on. I stay sick to my stomach a lot, also. I would think that would make me lose weight. I don't know. I am starting to get very concerned about it. That is probably one of the last things for me to be "worried" about, but I have a fear of being overweight like my mother and sister. I want to be as healthy as I can at the time. Thanks y'all for your support.
Avatar n tn The reason you may not be losing weight is because you may need some info on fat burning foods such as cabbages, tomatoes and radishes. Definitely take in an abundance of raw fruits. The main thing I can tell you to focus on, is your mineral intake. If you would like to know more about it please feel free to comment again.
1277304 tn?1272937851 You need to calculate your calorie needs based on your current weight, height and activity level to get your BMR, then cut/use calories accordingly. Make sure you eat protein with each meal/snack, opt for whole grains instead of refined flour, etc. Get plenty of fruits and veggies - a lot of veggies will give you more bulk with less calories.
Avatar f tn It's recommended to keep weight loss between 1-2 lbs a week. Usually in your first week that may be a little more depending on how big of a change you make, but an average of 1-2 lbs a week is ideal. I also think it's important to avoid all those easy quick weight loss things- those pills, meals, shakes, etc don't teach you how to keep this weight off. What you really need is a complete lifestyle change so you never ever get back your excess weight. The first thing you need to do is eat right.
Avatar n tn Furthermore, the weight loss is temporary, you will put the weight back on unless you chnage your habits. I put the fifteen pounds back on that I lost, Thank God. Please lose weight another way. You can do it. I did. I lost Forty Pounds and went from 33% body fat to 21% body fat without Topamax.
93210 tn?1287457826 I only had 80 pounds to lose, too, but I've gained and lost it many time over the past 25 years, and my top weight was a full 100 pounds over my ideal weight. That was the only reason they agreed to do it. They took a detailed account of every weight loss clinic I had ever attended, how much I lost over how much time, etc. As it was, I was the thinnest person ever banded in the clinic. The anesthetist had serious misgivings, as did my GP.
Avatar n tn 5 mph), do 30 min of pranayama and 30 min of yoga asanas on alternate days and 30 min of dumbbell weight training on the other three days. Yet, my weight won't go down. I'm a vegetarian, and am reducing the carb intake a lot, relying mostly on salads and veg smoothies. My dietician says 130 pounds should be my ideal weight; my endocrinologist and cardiologist say that given my age and otherwise what he describes as a healthy condition, 145 is ok. Whom do I believe?

233915 tn?1218816727 I do try and count my calories and I average 1200 - right on target for my height and weight with exercise load. And I run usually 5 miles every other day and swim 3/4 of a mile on alternate days. Sometimes depending on work load that might vary to a quick 30 minute jog instead of the 5 miler, and a 30 min. swim or weights at the gym. My friends can't understand it either becuase they work at the same as me, eat whatever they want, drink whatever they want and are bean poles.
649848 tn?1534637300 My weight is bouncing -- depending on what I'm eating, which, with all the company and extra cooking they do, is too much. Avatar n tn I am now a size 13 or 15 depending on the brand. My weight like leveled off relatively around 220...but it flucuates daily. Almost all the weight is in my upper thighs and stomach. My arms are still pretty muscular and calves are still defined. Also, even though I have all this fat on my stomach.....if you poke when I flex....I still have my 6 pack!! you can feel it...through the fluff.
Avatar n tn The med has worked wonders on my depression, but has played havoc with my weight. The Dr. says it won't put on weight on by itself. He says I'm feeling better and this is why the additonal pounds due to eating more. My consumption of food has decreased and I'm eating healthier foods. Avatar f tn org/posts/Multiple-Sclerosis/Using-a-cane-in-winter/show/2048273 I think people use a variety of things depending on personal preference and specific situation (do they need something for icy situations, etc.). Again, I'd have a read of that.
Avatar f tn First of all your being on such a restricted calorie intake is not going to be in your favour to lose weight. Females need 2000 calories a day. (give or take 500 depending on lifestyle, age and non pregnant) This is the MINIMUM you need just to be alive! When you restrict down to only 400 your body then believes it is in a famine and will not let you lose weight. It then lays down fat in storage and then uses this to survive. Your brain alone takes 20% of your daily calorie intake!
649848 tn?1534637300 But as I remember, my last height measurement is 5 flat. I say it like this because my height varies depending on who measures it but it is always at that range. I am also an Asian, small frame. I just put 39kg as it is the last weight when I had my abs (and I want to get it back) but I was 16 at that time (although my body looked normal before, I am not sure if it is still applicable now). I never got my abs back.
Avatar n tn I know its a bit late for this post but maybe you are the ideal weight for your height already and your body knows you dont need to lose any weight? I read that the other day as it happens. Its hard to know what we should believe off the net though. I need to lose about 7 pounds to be within normal weight for my height but even 1200 cals a day plus exercise at the mo isnt shifting so much as a pound so i am in a similar situ.
730826 tn?1317946934 Hey .. I added my BMI as well to the weight tracker. Just go the right side column in the community and find Community Calculators. Click on "Body Mass Index". Fill in your height and weight and have it calculate. Take that number and post it in your weight tracker! We should watch this number fall as well!!! Great JOB! Lucey - Perhaps you can do a similar "measure" and "BMI" post every so often so we all remember to record this regularly!
Avatar n tn tall) = 147lbs This should put you within 5-10llbs of your ideal weight depending on your bone structure.

Avatar f tn (Offer a discount for those that install this device on their vehicle) You could even have it be self-adjustable depending on the actual speed-limit of the road their traveling on. Just think if people with kids were made to drive, say, 25mph SLOWER than everyone else. That might shorten the long list of accidents and child deaths quite a bit, wouldn't you think? Also, a positive side-effect of the lowered speeds is increased gas-mileage! Think GREEN people!!!
Avatar dr m tn What Some Doctors Don't Know We all take it for granted that the physical air passageways that we breathe through is more than sufficient as conduits for air to travel into and out of our lungs. However, our upper air passageways are dynamically changing all the time, depending on your head position, weather status, allergies, emotions, moods, stress levels and even what you just had for lunch.
