Common Questions and Answers about Ideal weight chart

weight

140437 tn?1215113342 I have just been all around the internet looking at the 'ideal weight' calculators. As a recovered anorexic I was amazed to discover that at 9 stone 3 and 5 ft 4 I am concidered over weight. How ironic that after years of being under weight I should now - as a healthy woman finally - be concidered "over" weight at a UK size 10 US 6. Thats obscene - is anyone making money from this?
1153085 tn?1341305493 dear doc, i am 5'7" and my weight is 60Kgs. i want to pose a question that what is ideal weight for my height??and if its exceeding the limit, what lifestyle should i follow? i want to add that i am a full time student and hence gyming is bit difficult to be added in my routine..how much walk, stairs would be ideal??
Avatar f tn Given your height of 5'4", a body weight of about 146 lb. would give you a BMI of about 25, which would put you at the top of the range of what is generally considered an appropriate weight.
Avatar n tn Hello how are you? What is your height? The ideal weight of any person can be determined only after knowing his/her height. For weight gain and weight loss diet and exercise play an integral role. For gaining weight you should start eating the right type of food. Eat food rich in minerals, vitamins and all other essential nutrients. Stay away from fattening junk food. Try gaining weight in a healthy way. Exercise daily. Consult a nutritionist and get your diet chart made.
Avatar f tn Has your veterinarian examined your new dog yet? They would be best able to assess his weight and determine if he is too thin. A fecal exam for parasites would also be a good idea. The most common nutritional problem in US dogs is obesity, and it is generally a good thing to be able to see a "waist" from above and from the side.
Avatar f tn Hi there, Healthy eating habits are very important for maintaining ideal weight. Drink lots of water every day. Drinking water helps you feel full and also flushes out fluid from your kidneys, which may reduce bloating. Avoid eating salty fast foods, candies and cut down on at least 500 calories per day. Avoid intake of hidden calories in salad dressings, cheese, butter etc.Include fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, low-fat dairy and lean meats and fish.
1019636 tn?1298263627 if you go on google or even ring your surgery, try to find out how to calculate your body mass index, or maybe try to find a chart on google or something that indicates what weight you should be for your height.... Im pretty sure there is some sort of reference chart used to calculate a persons ideal weight... and im pretty sure its calculated by your age and height...
Avatar f tn It calculates your body mass index based on your starting weight and height and plots your current weight on a chart which shows what the healthy range is for your body. I find it useful because I don't have to do the math myself. I check it about once every 1 or 2 weeks. It's right on target with what my doctor told me to gain so I trust it. Just keep in mind that your weight gain is not necessarily linear either.
Avatar f tn I know there are several people here who can't seem to put weight on. I stay sick to my stomach a lot, also. I would think that would make me lose weight. I don't know. I am starting to get very concerned about it. That is probably one of the last things for me to be "worried" about, but I have a fear of being overweight like my mother and sister. I want to be as healthy as I can at the time. Thanks y'all for your support.
Avatar n tn You need do a chart for you height and weight and find your own target heart rate by your pulse for your age. Depending on the excersise you do (dishes and vacuming can burn calories) you need to burn more calories than you consume to loose weight. There are alot of websites that will chart it for you. example: if you consume 800 calories a day you need to excercise to burn 1000 calories. This pattern will drop weight. Does that make sense.
367974 tn?1286554758 I am on the straight and narrow though now I have this little angel in me! apparently my ideal weight is 52kg's but I dont want to be that thin id look like a wafer biscuit! i have pcos and i am insulin resistance. i am a relatively strong and fit person though and I eat well. 1626068 tn?1303760162 5 * 2.7889 Weight (minimum) = 51.6 kg 24.9 = weight / (1.67)^2 weight = 24.9 * 2.7889 Weight (maximum) = 69.44 kg So the healthy weight range for someone with 1.67 m is between 51.6 to 69.44 kg. I hope this helps.
Avatar f tn often times someone losing 5-10% of their body weight (if they are overweight or not at their ideal weight) will help them to conceive. Congradulations on the weight loss. . .
Avatar m tn Anytime we need a dog to lose weight, for example, we reduce by just 1/4 cup his usual amount, it's the easiest thing to do, and then when they reach an ideal weight, we change the amount decreased and move it up, so for example we'd go from 1/4 less to just 1/8 less.
Avatar f tn I'm concerned because I have a lot of difficulty losing weight and had finally managed to get back into my clothes after gaining weight 3 years ago. I'm facing menopause and the weight battle will only get tougher. I'm scared to death. I think my clothes are already getting tighter... Thanks for any responses.
Avatar n tn I would say that it is a 50/50 chance whether you would lose weight in the long run as the product wasn't designed as a weight loss product. (but I'm not a doctor so your dr. might be able to tell you what to expect).
Avatar n tn I have digenerative disc disease and my neirologist just prescribed topamax, he said it would help with the pain and tingling but could result in weight loss. I am wondering if prescribing topamax for ddd is common among neurologists? I can't seem to find any other information related to topamax as a pain med, only information I have is that it's a powerful drug with lots of side effects, most not so good. The weight loss aspect is the only plus...
Avatar f tn Healthy foods can be unhealthy if eaten in the wrong quantities. Do you know how many calories you eat in a day? I really think you should look into your caloric intake and see where you are. Perhaps you're getting too many calories. Fruit is amazing, but you really shouldn't get more than 3 serves in a day as they tend to have a lot of sugar. If you have a lot of higher fat dairy, that's a lot of calories.
Avatar n tn However, we have noticed that she is carrying more weight than I would like for her to. What is the ideal weight range for a child of her height? We also would like to know what we could do to help her reach that weight range? Thanks in advance!
119874 tn?1189759429 Medical Recommendation: male 6' 185bs. This recommendation is based on a Body Mass Index (BMI) range of 19-25. I typed in your stats and they come up with 185 at 6 foot at your BMI. So this calculation says you are 15lbs overweight. I was suprised when I did mine, I wasnt aware I was overweight before! Not saying you are overweight but the "ideal medical weight" I guess is a bit different, according to that you are a bit over.
Avatar n tn and further more the very next morning i swear....i have gained more weight! i am literally gaining weight EVERY DAY.
Avatar n tn I was looking back on my weight loss chart and saw that within 3 weeks of starting lexapro each time, I had a significant weight gain. I went from 175 to 185 the first time and then continued to gain despite following the program and exercising. When I went off the med, the weight began to drop and I made it down below 200. I started it again in February this year and within 3 weeks, here came another 10 pounds and it's been steadilly going up ever since.
Avatar n tn It's the March of Dimes chart on how much weight gain is desirable during pregnancy. I don't see where the doctor got the snide remark, myself. I'm at 30 weeks and have gained 21 lbs. and that hasn't bothered my doctor at all.
Avatar f tn As it stands now I am on weight based dosing of levothyroxine. My dosage is 125mcg which is 80% of what my ideal dosage by weight is. My endocrinologist will run tests in 7 weeks to determine my numbers and upon reading all the great advice on here I insisted on a free t3 and t4 test as well. Well I have been stuck at 185 pounds since the surgery and have not lost any weight although I am barely hungry and go most days with one meal.
Avatar n tn Since then I have been biking off 500+ calories a DAY - per the digital readout on my bike. My problem - I'm not losing ANY weight...I've gained 2 pounds!!! I did notice that my pants fit better and that I'm looking leaner but I still want to get back to 145 not bulk up with muscle! How do I get back to losing weight WHILE getting in more exercise?
Avatar n tn I feel like all the ideal measure on weight and height out there are scewed for people that lift and have large muscle mass. Im concerned Im overweight but not sure if its healthy weight or not? I made an appt for this week to get blood work done to figure out if it is a thyroid or some type of hormonal problem. Avatar n tn I went today for my first week weight check and my second shot.....my weight loss for my first week is 9.5 pounds!!!! Anyone else using Phentermine and B12? I would love to hear how other people have done on these meds. Good Luck to everyone trying...I want to hear your story!
284738 tn?1283110419 Um NO! I can't believe a doctor would tell you this. Even obese women are given the green light to gain 11 to 20 lbs during pregnancy. Infact, if you look over on the Maternal & Child Forum, peekawho just posted the most recent pregnancy weight gain stats/chart. And it says the thing I just wrote about the obese thing. You might want to think about getting another doctor.
