Avatar m tn I have pain in the right knee for two years now. X-rays show lack of fluid in the knee. Thus giving lot of pain. I have tried all sorts of therapies, but to no effect. I am now thinking of either get a shot or replace the knees. The left knee is also on the brink. I have to use pain killers. Please advise about taking a shot if I should take a shot of Synvisc-One. This discussion is related to <a href='/posts/show/1037175'>Changing from Supartz to Synvisc-One shots</a>.
Avatar m tn t talked to him yet as he is not in his office currently but this has me worried. Did he make a mistake and use the wrong ICD code or could this code also apply to the condition that I was diagnosed with. Thank you.
3072999 tn?1356414732 5 states Chiari Malformation 1. So I am assuming since the ICD-9 code of 384.4 just states compression of brain they had to add a 1 so it was more specific for their notes.
Avatar n tn ve been taking a Calcium/D pill for eons, I just recently replaced with the Vitamin Code Grow Bone system, which is a package of Calcium/D supplementation along with an evening strontium/probiotic enzyme complement to help the body build and strengthen bone. Taking all as directed. I always honor my body so am perplexed. Nothing "looks" swollen etc around my knees. The feeling is like a mild headache...but instead of in the head, in the knees.
Avatar f tn 070.51 is the ICD-9-CM code for Acute hepatitis C without mention of hepatic coma. B17.10 – Acute hepatitis C without hepatic coma is the ICD-10 code. In the overall scheme of things ultimately the only person who really cares about those codes is the one processing your health insurance claim. The code might have been on your receipt from the doctor's office or your EOB (Explanation of Benefits).
587778 tn?1261397118 My parents elected to have my entire leg caste for 6weeks rather than surgery. In the last two months, I began having pain on the inside of my knee that is tender to the touch. Even when I palpate the bone it hurts. My doctor sent me for an X-ray and it reveal mild osteoarthritis.
Avatar m tn knee osteoarthritis . Is electrical nerve stimulation(tens) an effective therapy for providing pain relief?
Avatar m tn For a few days I could feel something move in the same knee when I would walk down stairs. It felt like it was located to the left (outside) of the center of the knee. That went away. The right knee doesn't have any issues. There is no pain, tenderness, or swelling involved at all. Does this sound like it could be osteoarthritis? I've been working on the computer all day every day for about 10 years and I'm wondering if that sort of extreme inactivity could have caused this.
Avatar n tn are you thinking about knee replacement? get you finances in order you maybe out of work for a few weeks, from friends that had knee replacements they said physical therapy was very important to break up scar tissue.
Avatar n tn 428.22 is the ICD diagnosis code for your condition. It simply means that the pumping action of your heart is reduced or impared. Avatar m tn i was also wondering about the osteoarthritis as my dr told me that i have severe degenerative osteoarthritis of the lower spine (I forgot the numbers), hips, left shoulder and both feet. I had major surgery last summer and mesh was used to attach part of my bowel to my spine. My dr figures that this may have jump-started the arthritis issues. Currently i have probs walking, bending and overall it hurts to be on my feet for more than 20 mins at a time.
Avatar f tn Since high school, after running track for 4 yrs, (7 yrs ago) I hav had knee pain. In the last couple of years it has gotten worse, radiating to my hip. It happens when I've been standing or walking too long, or if I'm cold. Could this be a trauma induced osteoarthritis?
Avatar n tn Well, yes, partial meniscectomy does increase the risk of osteoarthritis, especially in recreational runners. However, the actual risk varies from person to person. It depends on your family history, weight, other diseases you may have or develop, your foot wear, how you use the knee etc. Please discuss with your doctor. You doctor and physical therapist will be able to assess your risk and guide you regarding the best rehab and use of knee in your case. Take care!
Avatar f tn This might be a right bundle branch conduction delay, ie a conduction disorder of some unspecified type (check the ICD code), although whether that would be a real worry is also unspecified. 2. The note says that there is a normal echo. This is not the same thing as an ecg. So it does not follow that the ecg is normal because the echo is normal. 3. The note is not validated by the input of a physician, nor subsequently by your individual assessment of the physician and his diagnosis.
431319 tn?1209751979 My child is not aggressive whatsoever....and I looked up the code and a lot of it is centered on aggression....She has a little sister that is now just over a year old and she has not struck her or anything once!!! In Pre-Kindergarten she kicked a boy in the knee once...but that was a year ago....I personally think the school is in it for the money.....She's an average everday child with high energy...it's hard for her to keep still...and that's probably the biggest problem she has..
Avatar f tn I have been taking Celebrex (200 mg a day) for about five years for bone on bone knee osteoarthritis. It has worked well for controlling my pain (not perfect but pretty good). I also get some lower back pain (combination of osteoarthritis and nerve stuff) that only happens when I over-do (like trying to garden, etc.). I typically need a day or two of Vicodin for that as the Celebrex does not seem to work for that.
Avatar f tn Perhaps the ICD is set too sensitive, that is it will go off if she has only 10 beats of v-tach (just an example). They can set for the rate and time of sensed v-tach before the thing fires off. Do take her in. She shouldn't have to go through this.
Avatar n tn Glucosamine supplements are widely used for osteoarthritis, particularly knee osteoarthritis. In osteoarthritis, cartilage -- the rubbery material that cushions joints -- becomes stiff and loses its elasticity. This makes the joint prone to damage and may lead to pain, swelling, loss of movement, and further deterioration.
