Avatar f tn s highly unlikely that taking a single dose of aspirin in early or mid-pregnancy will have a harmful affect, the drug can cause problems for both you and your baby if you take it regularly in normal adult doses while you're pregnant. So, except in a few cases, it's best to avoid aspirin altogether during this time. Here's why: Studies have linked aspirin to various pregnancy complications.
Avatar f tn No ibuprofen. It's a big no no during pregnancy. You can take Tylenol. Also, drink plenty of water. Eucalyptus oil in the shower or diffuser will help clear you up a bit.
6935419 tn?1392153040 I was already prescribed ibuprofen for swelling from the birth so that probably helped me not feel pain afterwards. If you're not prescribed ibuprofen three OTC ibuprofen is the same dose. The nurses told me that bc it's cheaper than the prescription. I can't remember how long I took it. If you're breastfeeding I wouldn't use it.
Avatar f tn I've always been told Tylenol. Not quite sure but It's something about ibuprofen that's not good during pregnancy. I stay away from all medicines during pregnancy. If I feel like I REALLY need pain relief & usually fir a headachethen I'll take Tylenol but only after I've tried home remedies first, like tanking a nap, showering, relaxing in a dark room...
Avatar f tn Not enough research has been done on the effects of ibuprofen during pregnancy it's suggested that it can resault in birth defects and cause big problems in the third trimester .
Avatar f tn Hi, I have a question. Sometimes I casually contemplate suicide--not very seriously, but more as a curiosity. Yesterday I decided to experiment with what it would be like to take a lot of pills. All I had on hand was ibuprofen, so I took 10,000 mg. It wasn't a suicide attempt, but more of a way to satisfy my curiosity about suicide by OD. However, after doing a little research online, some people seem to think that 10,000 mg can be dangerous.

648296 tn?1235934418 My mom was scared that it ruptered or something was wrong. They gave me ibuprofen and told me that it should take the pain away. The sonogram that I had was a week before all of this started happening and now the ibuprofen is starting not to work as well. Should I be worried about this?
Avatar f tn Never ever ever take advil or ibuprofen during pregnancy. It's a blood thinner. Your md should have given you a safe med list. Tylenol.
Avatar f tn I have had a light cold ever since I got pregnant. Maybe switch to Tylenol cold. Ibuprofen is a definite no no during pregnancy.
Avatar f tn Two completely different compounds. Tylenol, or acetaminophen has been deemed safe during pregnancy, ibuprofen, or Advil has NOT. As for aspirin, that's correct, it's a blood thinner.
Avatar f tn Ibuprofen (and all NSAIDs) are a big no go during pregnancy (with the occasional exception of aspirin for certain medical conditions, and only under direction of a physician).... Tylenol (acetaminophen) is really the only thing you can take.
Avatar m tn What I have heard. Apparently it is pretty normal to have sore gums or problems with teeth in pregnancy.Just make sure you take extra care with flossing and brushing regularly. And if you do go to the dentist make sure to tell them you are pregnant as having xrays may not be the best thing for you and baby.As for ibuprofen I would not take any of that and stick to basic Tylenol.
Avatar f tn Well you learn something new every day...lol. I knew ibuprofen was off limits during pregnancy, but had no idea it was a problem ttc. Good info!!
