You should be just fine unless you have an allergy to ibuprofen. Prescription Motrin is 800mg of Ibuprofen so that is the equivalent of four of the 200mg Ibuprofen. If you don't break out in a rash or have breathing difficulties after taking one or two Ibuprofen, please don't lose sleep over taking a third. As I said, as long as you can take Ibuprofen in the first place without having a problem, three won't bother you.
During the course of several weeks, I took about 10-15 grams of ibuprofen and some additional Paracetamol each time. I cannot remember how much Paracetamol I took. His doctor was horrified yesterday (day after shot) and had him take Benadryl, Ibuprofen and apply lots of ice. Today he received an IV antiobiotic and will get more tomorrow and find out what it is. The say he may have cellulitis. We both believe that his reaction is due to getting a 2nd dose so soon after the first and we hope that he does not have any lasting issues such as an impaired elbow joint, from this.

I over dosed on 300 200 mg Ibuprofen and was taken to the ER last week where i was given charcoal. Ever since i came back home my body has been acting funny and i am having extreme pain (it feels like my right kidney but it seems a little low to be my kidney) and i was wondering if there could have been some internal damage that would not have shown up right after the overdose but a little bit after? Should I be concerned or is this just my body trying to fix it's self?
Nurofen contains ibuprofen, and the 'plus' is codeine. Codeine is converted to morphine in the liver (to varying degrees in different cultural populations), so from a practical standpoint there is no difference between an addiction to nurophen vs any other opiate, such as oxycodone or heroin.
This past 2 weeks I was ill with the h1n1 virus. During the 2 weeks, I consumed over 50 200mg pills of ibuprofen. I have had blood work done twice (5 days ago and 2 days ago). Both resulted in increased liver enzymes. I haven't had any ibuprofen in 4 days. Is it possible that my liver enzyme increase is a result of the "overdose" with the ibuprofen. My doctor has scheduled another blood work screening in two weeks. Will my liver enzymes decrease in this amount of time?
Thank you very much for your replies. Your thorough questions made me realize that I should probably look for answers from the medical professionals back home who have my file. I have contacted the hospital back home and was told to stop taking in the medication I have been using so far and immediately switch to Ibuprofen, so that I'll be able to avoid an overdose.
s tend to forget to keep track on how long we have been on certain medication, and unless we ourselves speak up about it, they will simply prescribe them again and again. It has been hard work getting off these med's and I guess to a certain extent these have changed me, in much the same way as cannabis changes the users of it.
use the Co-Codamol just be very careful and if you find that you start to take them when you don't really need to stop taking them.

they had to give him 3 shots of morphine at the hospital to get him calmed down he was in so much pain....is there any long term side effects that might come up because of this....if there is a site to go to please send me the site....one other question...could this have killed or hurt him seriously.....
Well, an overdose of ibuprofen is usually marked by drowsiness, stomache pains, and trouble breathing. I have never heard of hallucination being a side effect.
That being said, when giving our little one's any medication including over the counter, it is extremely important to stick strictly to dosing instructions. I know the bottle I buy of infant tylenol or ibuprofen show recommended doses based on age and weight and of course frequency. Do not ever give more then she should get.
It has been available on our store shelves for decades, but only 2-3 years ago they felt they had to edjucate people, (and because of the EDJUCATION,) this has saved lives, and changed the old veiws about how much to take ,and how often to take it. Hi last monday I had a toothache and took quite a few painkillers (ibuprofen mainly) and ever since I have been pooping blood, and last night I had what seemed to be a panic attack (unable to speak, rapid heartbeat, struggling to breathe) and now this afternoon my right eye bag has swollen and hurts every time I blink or close my eyes. Could all these thing be linked or are they separate matters? And should I consult medical advice or see if it all calms down?
Gosh, that's sure scary. Was it on purpose? How much did you take? If it was on purpose, you really need support. Maybe things are better but if you went there in terms of desire to end your life, knowing that and talking to someone would be SO important. Effects after an overdose can include kidney or liver issues. It's been long enough that all of the acute situations sound to have been avoided but the ones that you don't necessarily see should be looked into.
