ibuprofen nyquil

I have had the flu this past week and have been taking nyquil, ibuprofen, and alkazelter, I just found out that I am 5 weeks pregnant and I'm am hoping that this medicine I have been taking is NOT going to affect my baby?! If anyone knows please help me out I am going to the doctor Monday but I do not want to continue to take medicine if its going to harm my baby. Thank you!

I am having the same problem and the doctor told me it was safe to take Sudafed, benedryl, and Robitussin.

I don't remember my last period and I haven't had an ultra sound how will I know how far I am in my pregnancy? In December of 2012 I had a miscarriage just before Christmas heavy heavy bleeding and I just don't recall my MP in jan. and I tested positive this month for pregnancy,and also I'm terrified because I didn't know I was pregnant and I took ibuprofen and NyQuil earlier this month FEB.

I have been using vices vapor rub, cough drops, honey, humidifier and just straight up tylenol. I really wish I could just take Nyquil...as trying to sleep at night is nearly impossible.

My sister gave my 5 month old Nyquil because she wouldn't stop crying! I am beyond pissed! I asked her why she was sleeping so much and she said because she kept her up but she threw up a little red stuff and then she admitted. I've been giving her water every chance she'll take it but she's been asleep for about 2 hrs. She's breathing and everything but are their any serious side affects to it?

I really dislike getting sick on the weekend because I can't call the DR. Can I safely take nyquil? There is liver warning on back but that's also on tylenol. Hoping to get some help with sleeping and fight this cold. Liver stage 1-2 and not yet on triple treatment. I haven't taken any meds at all today, if that matters. Thanks everyone!

I have been battling a cold for 2 weeks. i just found out in 6 weeks pregnant. i took Nyquil, extra streng Tylenol, ibuprofen and advil p.m. im concern about the side effects. i haven't gone to my first appt yet so i haven't had the chance to ask the dr. any one in the same boat?

If your legs are all over the place then get some Hylands Restful Legs and Leg Cramps with quinine. That is the ONLY thing that helped mine. I also took a dose of Nyquil for a few nights, starting about my 3rd or 4th night I think. That helps sleep and RLS somewhat. It's definitely worth a try! You're doing great! Just do yourself a favor and make this the last time! It will only get harder each time, as you see!!! HUGS.......

Hmmm im pretty sure my Dr. told me no nyquil or dayquil when i had a cold over the winter but she did say it was fine to take tylenol cold.

The first 3 days were difficult with all the symptoms and the rebound pain was tremendous.I took 2 extrastrength tylenol and 800mg ibuprofen every 4 hours for about 3 or 4 days and the pain subsided.I was able to decrease the ibuprofen,but staill take 2 extrastrength tylenol every 4 hours,max 8/day.I took all the vitamins b12 1000mcg/day under the tongue,vitd2000u/day,omegas,b complex with zinc.I also had epsom salt soaks.I now control my pain with otc pain meds.

no! NYQUIL is not physically addictive and you won't suffer from withdrawals. And its not dangerous to take two Nyquil every night....after a long period of time you could get Liver damage but almost all sleeping medacine have that warning. It's more dangerous to drink 1 beer every night than it is if you take two Nyquil every night lol....there is less alcohol in two nyquil caps than there is in 1 beer....so your not at all in danger...

Why would you even think of giving a dog Nyquil? Nyquil has a very high alcohol content and is definitely NOT good for dogs. Do NOT give it to him. What are his symptoms that you think he needs it?

I took tylenol extra strength every 4 hoursmax 4000mg/day for rebound pain,alternating with ibuprofen 800mg/every 6 hours.max 2400mg/day. To help me sleep through the first few Nyquil without the decongestant.

I think it *is* likely your medicine extravaganza during your bronchitis may have temporarily elevated your liver enzymes. Just go get retested in a few weeks. Also, mixing Nyquil with the tylenol is a big no, no. Nyquil has alcohol and, when mixed with tylenol, can do (tah dah) exactly what happened to you! I'm sure one time won't damage your liver, but now you know! Take care.

I'm 16 weeks pregnant and have one heck of a cold. I was up all night last night and I'm exhausted. Tylenol has not helped a bit and I want to try something else to give me some relief. Although there are probably worse things he could be doing, trying to get high off OTC products is just downright sick and unhealthy. I have way more respect for someone who pops a percocet then chugs a bottle of nyquil. If I got caught chugging a bottle of Nyquil, I'd just be really embarassed more than anything.

What started out as an innocent use of cough medicine prescribed by physician, got additive mode started. I had started to use Nyquil to sleep and to make long story short, I have used a bottle (sometimes 2) daily for 3 years. 1 week off here and there when on vacation. Wanting to stop, not knowing what withdrawl will bring. Never had difficulty with alcohol, but off nyquil for 2 days, hot sweats, severe headache, irritation. My question is why do youth use nyquil to get high, or change their stste of consciousness? What are the dangers of abusing nyquil? Why do kids engage in this practice? What could be their mottives? How might a parent approach their kids to discourage this?
