ibuprofen kidney side effects

Can Kidney pain be a side effect of taking Ibuprofen? I was taking ibuprofen last week consecutively for 3 days (400mg t.i.d) after laser eye surgery. A day or so after starting it I experienced mild pain/discomfort in my left flank that came in waves. When I stopped taking the ibuprofen the flank pain also stopped. The next day I took one more dose - the flank pain started again within an hour, but was gone the next day.

Like... they said at 10mg there are very few side-effects and at 20mg there are noticeable side-effects. But, you obviously don't want to change the dose on your own, as this can be extremely dangerous! But, it would be worth talking to your doctor about if the side-effects don't go away fast enough. Although... most of the time... with SSRIs in general I find, it can take 2 to 4 weeks for side-effects to go away and then they're gone for good.

sorry to hear your hubby is having a hard time. sounds like he is having some of the common side effects. There is nothing that can boost platlets but many docs let them go really low before lowering or stopping the meds. Try and get back on the full strength of interferon ASAP! Probably the most common side effect is the itching. I have it as well and it is horrible. I have found some relief with a prescription med called Atarax.

I have been taking maximum daily dosage of generic ibuprofen (3200 mg a day, usually 1600mg at a time). I also take 600mg etodolac, 400 in the am and 200 in the pm. I have been having kidney pain on both sides, and excessive sweating. Could this be from taking too much NSAID medication?

Ally saw heart nurse and dialysis nurse, one says "no it is not the beta blocker" the kidney nurse is changing his kidney regime because she says it could be draining to much fluid from him making him have headaches and what ever. Still struggling, he should be feeling much better by now but he is not. I will keep in touch, thanks for answering.

I have been taking 2-4 ibprogen 200 mg. tablets for 4 months on a daily basis. Does this still fit into the manufacturer's guidelines for this product. I'm concerned about long term side effects.

just had my 2 year old at the drs for a check following a fever and told him I'd used calprofen ( children's ibuprofen ) initially when trying to bring his temperature down. He hit the roof!!! He said ibuprofen is proven to cause kidney damage and should NOT be made for children at all, he's on quite a mission to ban it. Just thought i'd let you guys know. fortunately, i'd only given my lad 2.

Dr said I could take up to 1500 mg a day of either for fever n aches. I only have 1 kidney n somehow have it in my head not to use acetaminophen. I'm using children's Motrin. Any advice here? Karen :) thanks guys..

Daily use of NSAIDs over a long term, can have serious side effects and is not recommended.Substituting, another NSAID is not the answer. If you truly have developed post-traumatic arthritis as a result of previous meniscus injury, there are several alternatives. Viscosupplementation with hyluronate injections, such as Synvisc, can be very helpful. Natural anti-inflammatories such as Glucosamine or Omega-3 are very useful alternatives.

Hi all so far 3 months into treatment i was pretty much sailing through it but not by body is hurting my back my legs just everything i ran out of Acetaminophen and want to know if anyone here knows if i can take Ibuprofen for the aches i am undetectable at week 4 no liver damage if someone could help me out with this Thanks Much love Karen

I think u may not be able to sleep cos ur bp is too high and thats quite dangerous, usually i cant get any sleep if my bp rises above 150/90. Side effects of atenolol for me are slow pulse, weak erection, weakness and tiredness, confusion, difficulty taking quick decisions.
