ibuprofen kidney infection

Can Kidney pain be a side effect of taking Ibuprofen? I was taking ibuprofen last week consecutively for 3 days (400mg t.i.d) after laser eye surgery. A day or so after starting it I experienced mild pain/discomfort in my left flank that came in waves. When I stopped taking the ibuprofen the flank pain also stopped. The next day I took one more dose - the flank pain started again within an hour, but was gone the next day.

ive been put on antibiotics for uti ubtil i gwt my results but im worried its a kidney infection...I knew kidney infections can be deadly in pregnancy...is this true? Im freaking out...

Hi all so far 3 months into treatment i was pretty much sailing through it but not by body is hurting my back my legs just everything i ran out of Acetaminophen and want to know if anyone here knows if i can take Ibuprofen for the aches i am undetectable at week 4 no liver damage if someone could help me out with this Thanks Much love Karen

The biggest effect of Ibuprofen is in the last trimester. It affects the kidney/urine output of the fetus, which results in lower amniotic fluid levels. It can also thin your blood, which can increase the risk of heavy bleeding during delivery and after. Your OB will tell you the same thing. Feb 26th - March 13 I notice Ive been having back pain which is worsened by my flight. I fly to Texas and am very tired. I keep blaming caffeine withdrawl. I keep thinking Im fine. Back pain grows and grows until I stumble a few times. I am worried about carrying my child and hurting her.

if i do have a kidney infection, is there something i can take at home instead of going to see a doctor?

Dr said I could take up to 1500 mg a day of either for fever n aches. I only have 1 kidney n somehow have it in my head not to use acetaminophen. I'm using children's Motrin. Any advice here? Karen :) thanks guys..

egfr of 48 is very low, it is mid way through stage 3. However, if you had a kidney infection at the time this WOULD effect the egfr.

The CT scan showed an inflamed kidney. The doctor now believes a kidney infection and has prescribed cipro and Tylenol and Ibuprofen for pain. After 5 days, the pain (while not constant) has not diminished. He often has the chills and a fever that runs 2-3 degrees above normal. One other (possibly not related) issue is that his pain is usually most significant early morning (possibly due to 8 hours of sleep with no tylenol/ibuprofen).

This, along with fever of 102 degrees, led her to suspect a kidney infection. Today the sample came back and there is no infection. So why the red and white blood cells in the urine? She didn't answer that question, just said that we would do an ultrasound and then talk further. Should I be concerned that there is something seriously wrong with my kidney? Recently my lower back near my right kidney has been hurting very badly. In response to the pain i have been taking Ibuprofen in somewhat large amounts. i take about 1800mg every 3 to 4 hours if the pain continues. I have also noticed that i dont urinate very often, maybe once a day. Can anyone help me out?

Usually the back is the first place that hurts known as the flank area that will hurt when you have a kidney infection. But I have had kidney pain and no infection and was caused by medicines.

i was diagnosed with urine infection a few days after surgery to remove a large ovarian cyst. the only sympton i had was severe stomach cramps which i thought was associated to the the surgery but after a urine test at the a&e, they found that it was a urnine infection. i was given antibiotics, which didn't take into effect until the 3rd/4rth day. i've now finished the prescribed course, however, i've found that my urine is still very yellow despite me drinking more than 1.
