ibuprofen high blood pressure meds

I was diagnosed with high blood pressure when i was 18yrs old (when iwas only 125lbs and a cross country runner) My doc monitored my BP for about 2 months, did an EKG and put me on an ace inhibitor. I never questioned it i just took the meds. I moved 3 yrs later and saw a new doc and he continued my current meds...at 26 i was switched to Aldomet 250 mg 2x day...due to the fact that i was to be married and start a family.

I'm reading that one should not take ibuprofen when taking some blood pressure medications although my doctor didn't mention this to me. Thoughts? What do you do for headaches/injuries? Tylenol is acceptable? Unfortunately, that is a really weak pain reliever for me.

I am now on an appeal for a new treatment after being turned down by my insurance company.Has anybody with similar symptons experienced sudden high blood pressure and found out what might have caused it.The doc I saw in the emergency room couldn't answer why it happened.

Pain can certainly cause your blood pressure to be elevated. However, so can some of the meds given for pain relief. If you were prescribed any of the non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) which include ibuprofen, these can also increase your blood pressure.

I also have high blood pressure, I go and see a high risk doctor, take a prescription med twice a day, and I go to a high risk clinic. Im also being induced.

High blood pressure is a major sign of pre eclampsia, which I'm sure is what they're monitoring. A severe headache is also a sign. Chances are you'll be put on bed rest if it stays high and be monitored. If it continues to rise you could be put on hospital bed rest or if you're far enough they could take the baby early. If it gets too severe it could cause major health issues, but it sounds like they're on top of it and monitoring you!

well hopefully they give u a diagnoses soon. I hear they induce labor if blood pressure cannot be kept under control with meds. Not trying to scare you but thats what my sis in law went through. At least your almost 36 weeks so baby will be fine if thays what they end up doing. Hope ur appointment goess well.

I looked at my labs from my preop. EKG and my blood pressure was 110/70 which is usually my normal pressure. More medicine. Yay!

With my first I developed preeclamplsia at 28wks. Blood pressure stopped responding to meds at 35wks (170/140) and baby had stopped growing so he was delivered by csection that day. He only needed 1wk nicu and is a healthy happy toddler now. This pregnancy I developed it at 15wks. Not sure how far I'll get but so far bp is managed well by meds and 26wks.

I am 38 years old female /w 2 kids I didnt find out I had high blood pressure until I broke my foot and the doctor made me aware of it. So for about 2 years I have been on meds. I will admit I dont take them like I should. But I recently had a friend pass away from heart problems.So I just went and got all kind of test.because my blood pressure was 149/110 I did a stress test and EKG.my heart rate is normal but the EKG showed that my left side of heart is enlarged .

Tully you said you take meds,is this for the high blood pressure? They have gave me no meds for mine im just on the synthroid for thyroid. So now I'm wondering if i should be on something for it. Or does it need to be higher before they feel you need meds? Mine was 149/98 yesterday.

If you have no prior history of high blood pressure i would think theres a very good chance as these meds do crazy stuff....... I have read here where those with high BP before tx saw it go down while on treatment...... Good luck going forward.

Previously my pregnancy I was taking medication for High blood pressure. It was Chortalidone which is a diuretic. I was taking that before and during the first four weeks of my pregnancy , until My gyn told me not to take it during my pregnancy. I went in at 35 weeks and 4 days and my blood pressure was high and they gave me meds and did a 24 hour urine test but during the night, even on the meds my blood pressure got to 180/110 and they c sectioned my baby that day.

re right, diet and exercise could work, it may not be enough to lower my blood pressure. They first started to notice my high blood pressure six months into hep c tx, and it has stayed that way ever since. I haven't thought much about it until now.

Yesterday I had an appointment and my blood pressure was high (143/80) at the beginning of the appointment. My doctor took my blood pressure again at the end of the appointment because I've never had a high blood pressure reading before and it was 130/93, so still high. Today I'm doing a 24 hour urine test to make sure my kidneys and liver are functioning properly. Has anyone else had this situation? I'm worried about having preeclampsia along with gestational diabetes.
