Avatar f tn I have a shoulder problem and used to be on strong pain killers, but my doctor told me to change to heat rubs!
1534233 tn?1523388856 The top of my left shoulder is quite painful to the touch. I've tried ibuprofen tablets and gel, also paracetamol and codeine tablets. I've previously had some worries about chest pain being angina although all tests for this are negative. The pain goes into my neck a bit when I press my shoulder, I'm fairly happy this pain is not heart related. But wonder what I can do to treat it.
Avatar n tn So many ibuprofen tablets can cause severe acidity. Take and antacid gel and a drug like omeprazole or ranitidine to lower the acid in the stomach. Drinking chilled milk also helps at times. Apart from this eat light bland diet like toast, crackers etc at frequent intervals. It is equally important to consult a doctor immediately. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.

Avatar f tn No Advil And Ibuprofen Are The Same Thing Which Are Very Dangerous To Take In Pregnancy. The Only Thing You Can Take Is Tylenol That I Have Head Of. Maybe Call The On Call Dr For Something Else. They May Be Able To Tell You What Is Safe.
199177 tn?1490498534 I just recommended this to another member, but I think what really works best is Ibuprofen. 600 mg would be 3 tablets from the over the counter strength, and you must take it every 6 hours so you get the benefit of the anti-inflammatory properties and which are especially in your case, very much needed and desired. I have also spoken with many others , even who use heavy narcotics, and who say they are happiest with Advil, or Ibuprofen, and it works just as well.
Avatar n tn I noticed 3 pus filled pockets on my public hair area and 1 on my penis (they had fishy smell). (After my STD results came back negative) The doctor gave me Flucloxacillin 250mg tablets which I used for a week. The pockets were gone but I then started getting small pink spots in public hair area and lower abdominal. The doctor gave me Dermol cream to use and also use as body wash as well. As well as the area I used to get them I then started getting some around my neck and upper chest as well.
Avatar m tn Patients with cirrhosis should not take Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAID) such as Advil (Ibuprofen), Motrin (Ibuprofen), or aspirin-type drugs. Tylenol (Acetaminophen) is safe if you take less than six 325 mg tablets each day (2,000 mg per day). Because cirrhosis patients are at increased risk of ulcer disease, you should discuss with your doctor about taking an anti-ulcer drug.

Avatar f tn hello there, I have been frustrated over the past two weeks every doctor I go to tells me its just a twisted back muscle unknowingly, without them running any tests, advising me to take ibuprofen tablets and get a muscle relief gel. I done those both, but neither have an effect, the situation continues and the pain does not stop even with a pain killer., I have done my research but there's not exact answer.
Avatar n tn In searching for a cheaper way to control glaucoma I found tablets offered. Do tablets work as well as drops??
Avatar n tn I just came from my dentist and he suggested I take 3 ibuprofen 4 times a day for 3 days to see if it would calm the nerve of a tooth. If it does not, then he suggests a root canal. My main concern is I'm afraid of the stomach problems this might cause. Do I have need to worry? I also take omeprazole to calm my stomach, so am I defeating the purpose? Thank you for your time.
Avatar m tn Application of mild corticosteroid cream and oral antiinflammatories like ibuprofen/acetaminophen are also helpful. If the symptoms are severe then it will be best to consult a dermatologist. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
1654058 tn?1407159066 Karen, Your platelets are already low, and NSAIDs can increase the risk for bleeding; imho, acetaminophen over the ibuprofen, hands down. With low platelets from tx and a compromised liver and kidney system, any of the NSAIDs are contra-indicated for you (includes Motrin, Advil, Aleve). Tylenol is not to be taken indiscriminately either, though. With cirrhosis, no more than 2000 mg per day max (that means no more than 4 Extra Strength Tylenol in any 24 hour period).
Avatar f tn The recommended dose is 2 tablets every 4 to 6 hours. Talk to your doctor though as mine has me take up to 4 tablets every 4 to 6 hours (the maximum and what takes it to prescription level). Absolutely makes cramps manageable for me. Ibuprofen comes in a variety of brands from store brand (cheapest and perfectly fine) to Advil to Motrin. There is another OTC medication called alleve that women take as well for cramps. Always best to talk to your doctor first but these options are safe.

786879 tn?1236881905 80 mg. Children's Tylenol gives a lot of flexibility if you're trying to keep it under 1000 mg / day. (3 tablets 4x a day, 4 tablets 3x a day, 6 tablets twice a day, etc) All I use these days is ibuprofen, since I don't have any reasons not to, but on tx I'd carry Children's T around with me on Friday afternoons while I was waiting to start feeling my shot.
Avatar n tn Hi, I ended up inserting some of an alcohol-based gel into my urethra 3 days ago. I have been using Azo for the pain, which is helping some, but I am surprised at how little the symptoms are abating. Could it be that this will take a while to heal? Could this have caused some kind of permanent damage?
