Avatar f tn I have a shoulder problem and used to be on strong pain killers, but my doctor told me to change to heat rubs!
Avatar f tn Is it true you shouldn't take ibuprofen it can harm the baby? I just seen this today while doing research as to this is my first. i have been taking it before I found out I was thinking my period was coming and I've always had bad cramps so I know to start taking it before my period comes to help with the pain. Should I be worried that I've harmed the baby from taking it? I'm 5 weeks BTW.
Avatar m tn According to research institutes, Ibuprofen overdose damages your internal organs like liver. While in some cases it has been reported that it has result in a permanent liver damage, in other cases where the victim was taking the dose for a long and continued period it has resulted in organ failure one by one.
1534233 tn?1523388856 The top of my left shoulder is quite painful to the touch. I've tried ibuprofen tablets and gel, also paracetamol and codeine tablets. I've previously had some worries about chest pain being angina although all tests for this are negative. The pain goes into my neck a bit when I press my shoulder, I'm fairly happy this pain is not heart related. But wonder what I can do to treat it.
Avatar n tn Do you have any neck problem history? If so,see orthopaedic doctor to get diagnosis, then alternative medicine can help.Don't worry!
Avatar n tn Hi, I ended up inserting some of an alcohol-based gel into my urethra 3 days ago. I have been using Azo for the pain, which is helping some, but I am surprised at how little the symptoms are abating. Could it be that this will take a while to heal? Could this have caused some kind of permanent damage?
Avatar f tn Hi, I have a question. Sometimes I casually contemplate suicide--not very seriously, but more as a curiosity. Yesterday I decided to experiment with what it would be like to take a lot of pills. All I had on hand was ibuprofen, so I took 10,000 mg. It wasn't a suicide attempt, but more of a way to satisfy my curiosity about suicide by OD. However, after doing a little research online, some people seem to think that 10,000 mg can be dangerous.
233488 tn?1310693103 Several people have posted frustation about the lack of things that can be done to stop myopia from progressing. There is much research being done on this in asian countries as myopia-high myopia is much more common in asians more than 50% in some groups. Avatar f tn the nurse said it was because the nerve ending were severed and to take 300 mg of ibuprofen every four hours. It seemed to work for awhile, but a month later my doctor told me I shouldn't be taking the ibuprofen because it would ruin my stomach. It is four months later and these same pains are back. My doctor doesn't seem to be concerned and keeps telling me I shouldn't be in pain and cuts me off. As it is my surgery was botched and my one nipple was almost a complete hole.
Avatar f tn Hey, what's the eye gel that's placed on the baby's eyes upon birth?? Is it harmless?? Thoughts overall??
Avatar f tn hello there, I have been frustrated over the past two weeks every doctor I go to tells me its just a twisted back muscle unknowingly, without them running any tests, advising me to take ibuprofen tablets and get a muscle relief gel. I done those both, but neither have an effect, the situation continues and the pain does not stop even with a pain killer., I have done my research but there's not exact answer.

Avatar n tn I have a lot of back / spine issues. I take some pretty heavy medication, but as far as OTC meds go, I find Liquid Gel Advil helps me the most. A couple of things to keep in mind: Ibuprofen can damage your kidneys and acetaminophen (Tylenol) can damage your liver. Prescription meds like hydrocodone have acetaminophen in them. Good luck.
Avatar m tn Sorry about your injury. Using ibuprofen gel or topical NSaids does not necessarily have to be covered. You can ask your doctor about that or the pharmacist where you frequent. A few points, remember to not mix with other nsaids, avoid touching your eyes, mouth or open wound, WASH YOUR HANDS after application, use only the amount the doctor has prescribed for you, don't shower or swim or wash the area for at least an hour after putting it on, and try to keep the area cool.
Avatar f tn Ibuprofen and such tends to give me stomach pain and I've been On ibuprofen for years. Heat helps but just for the 30 sex or so the heat is applied. Other than that nothing.

1305767 tn?1361192676 Is it safe to take ibuprofen in the same day as Meloxicam? I take 15 mg of the Meloxicam in the morning for pain but need additional pain relief later in the day and I know that both drugs are NSAID so I don't want to accidentally overdose.
Avatar f tn Get some aloe vera gel for the burn/blisters (pure aloe is best.) Also Tylenol or ibuprofen will help the pain a bit. Drink plenty of fluids. Orange juice is a good choice. I had a very bad burn once that caused me to be in the ER. They gave me IV fluids and told me about the ibuprofen and fluids. They specifically mentioned orange juice ... maybe for the potassium. Also, I'm sure you're already aware, but tanning isn't a good thing to do.

Avatar f tn Common nosebleeds are generally the result of an irritation to the septum -- dryness, scratching, trauma, inflammation (virus, allergy) -- or simply an anatomic situation where you have vessels that are too close to the surface and easily break open. The easiest thing to try yourself is to get some saline nasal gel (not spray) and apply that liberally. Some medications, like aspirin and ibuprofen can enable bleeding to occur more easily too.

Avatar n tn t always easy doing it, would make my hips feel better the rest of the day,) ibuprofen, lidoderm patchs or a prescription gel, like the Voltaren gel. My joint pain generally responds to heat better than ice (though lately I've been having trouble with bursitis in both knees and ice seems to work best for that.) Hope tomorrow is a better day for you.
1840891 tn?1431547793 All the regulars here know me, but a brief intro for others: I 'm 58, have had HCV since 1984 and was dx'd with compensated cirrhosis around 2004. I'm now near the end of my third tx, a 48-week bout of triple tx with Incivek. I've been UND and had normal liver enzymes since week 8 and I'm now on week 46. Here's my new question: I've had autoimmune arthritis for decades now, but in just the last year I've also developed osteoarthritis in both thumbs.
