Avatar m tn i got my Ct scan results and doctor told me i had cerebral ischemia chronic. I am not sure what that is. He said it was the blood and oxygen wasnt going to part of my brain properly .doctor set me an appointment to meet with a neurologist and waiting to see him sometime next week. i have to get an mri done and thats next week aswell. I am 30 years old and was involved with several IEDs in Iraq. I have problems remembering things and speaking and always feeling depressed.
Avatar n tn I was just received MRI results indicating Chronic Small Vessel Ischemia after episodes of occasional vaque throbbing sensations in head. Dr. followup visit next week. Hx. Hypertension on meds for same 55 y.o. male What should I expect, is there relief or treatment options for this?
Avatar f tn Sometimes people was just woken up with the cerebral ischemia or fainting, be cause the vision continuing for a few minutes and dyskinesia have not yet concluded, which will cause psychological illusion that people struggle to wake up but fail to do it. For instance, a place in country, there is a "haunted" bed which makes people have nightmares every night, and it is this fact that the pillow in the bed is too high.
Avatar n tn A few months later I started to have painful intermittent legs spasms that lasted over a period of a few weeks. After that subsided, My right arm started to have the painful spasms. I went back to the doctor for my 1 year follow up and had a new MRI. The MRI showed "Diffuse T2 prolongation within the subarachnoid space diffusely on FLAIR sequences." I have had new bloodwork and an additonal MRI done.
20856687 tn?1542579006 Hi. I just had a brain MRI no contrast because I have a lot of symptoms that fit with MS, inclusing Lhermitte's, foot drop, painful tingling and weakness in legs, peripheral neuropathy in the legs. I had Lhermitte's when I was 20 for about 6 months, then over the next 30 years the symptoms would come and go but never had Lhermitte's Sign again until a couple of months ago. Suddenly I had a very huge increase in these symptoms plus new ones.
Avatar n tn Basilar artery supplies the brain with oxygen-rich blood and located deep inside the brain. It connects the cerebellar arteries to the cerebral artery which supply the posterior and anterior parts of the brain, respectively. I hope this helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar n tn which could occur due to a few causes such as cerebral ischemia/ strokes, dementia, demyelinating conditions, gliosis etc. I would suggest discussing the situation in detail with the radiologist and the treating neurologist for suggestion of an appropriate management plan. Hope this is helpful. Take care!
Avatar m tn Hello Dear, You need to consult a cardiologist and go in for complete cardiological investigations to find the cause leading to the lack of oxygen supply to the brain. The severity of cerebral ischemia, caused by arterial obstruction, and the duration of blood-flow loss in the brain determine the extent of brain damage. There could be temporary dysfunction of the neurons or there may be irreversible damage to nerve cells sensitive to minute changes in oxygen levels.
Avatar m tn I have been having tingling sensation in my hands and feet (mainly left hand) for the past 2 months. I was diagnosed with vitamin b12 deficiency and have been taking supplements. The tingling is much better since then but has not completely resolved (its been 2 months), so my PCP asked me to get an MRI done. This is what the report says.
338734 tn?1377160168 In this study, we used immunohistochemistry to determine whether IRF-1 protein is upregulated after cerebral ischemia, and to define the identity of the cells that express IRF-1 in the postischemic brain.... mb... this clip above is old, but INF has been around for 40 years, so it's pretty much a known quantity as drugs go.
Avatar f tn There is mild diffuse cerebral atrophy and microvascular ischemic changes of the white matter. No extraaxial collections are identified and there is no shift of the midline structures. The sagittal images show a normal corpus callosum, pituitary gland, aqueduct of Sylvius and fourth ventricle. The cerebellar tonsils are above the foramen magnum. There are normal flow voids in the major vessels of the Circle of Willis. There is no abnormal enhancement after contrast.
Avatar f tn There are extremely numerous foci of various size of increased T2 and FLAIR signalthroughout the white matter of both cerebral hemispheres. Some of these are central nearthe ventricles and margins of the corpus callosum and others are peripheral andinterdigitate with the sulci.Given the patient's age, the findings most likely representdemyelinating disease (MS). The diffusion irnaqes are normal with no area suspicious foracute ischemia or active demyelinating plaque identified.
Avatar f tn I saw a neurologist for dizziness, fatigue, paresthesia in extremities. I was ordered an MRI which showed small white spots in frontal cortex only without contrast. Blood tests showed ANA 1:640 and Anticariolipin IgM (+) 27. I have had joint pain in wrist, hands, and back as well as chest pain on inspiration for years. RA (-) as well as XRay's of joints/chest. No rash or fevers, the fatigue is unbearable.I just saw rheumatologist who dx me with antiphospholipid antibody syndrome.
Avatar f tn Migraine, focal migraine with asymmetrical visual loss or other symptoms indicating transient cerebral ischemia" It warns patients who have migraines because it increases the risk of having a migraine so that even someone who does not typically have migraines may be at an increased risk of having one.
Avatar m tn 5 TESLA TWIN GRADIENT SYSTEM AND CORRELATED WITH T2W SAGGITAL, CORONAL(FAT SAT) AND T2 FALIR AXIAL AND DIFFUSION AXIAL IMAGES, SERIAL T1 WEIGHTED AXIAL, CORONAL AND SAGITTAL IMAGES OF THE BRAIN WERE OBTAINED AFTER ADMINISTRATION OF I.
Avatar n tn My mom, 51, with no medical history but a smoker, recently was seen for a 1-2 day history of chest pain. It was not exertional, but worse when she laid on her left side or took deep breaths. No recent cold or infection. It was right under left breast but she couldn't reproduce it by pressing on it. She had a troponan checked which was normal, CBC normal, and EKG = "nonspecific T waves, can not rule out ischemia".
Avatar m tn . Calvarium/skull base: No focal marrow replacing lesion suggestive of neoplasm. . Orbits: Grossly unremarkable. . Paranasal sinuses: Imaged portions clear. . Brain: No evidence of acute abnormality. No evidence of acute ischemia. No mass effect, hemorrhage, or hydrocephalus. Several scattered cerebral matter matter T2 FLAIR hyperintensities most consistent with sequela of chronic small vessel disease. Grossly normal flow-related signal in the major intracranial arteries and dural sinuses. .
Avatar f tn I had an MRI recently due to severe stabbing pain on the left side of my head. It appears without warning, only lasts a few seconds and after it is over I am exhausted. The results were 6 small foci the largest 7mm in diameter that have abnormal signal in the white matter of the cerebral hemisheres best seen on the FLAIR sequence. They listed 5 or 6 possible causes. One is migraines. My doctor thinks that is the answer.
