Avatar f tn Has anyone heard of any reactions to ibuprofen while pregnant?
Avatar f tn My doctor said that ibuprofen is a big no no but then again it is only one time and many have taken it before knowing they were pregnant i am sure u and ur baby will be fine just try not to have it next time.
Avatar f tn Those monthly migraines are the worst for me because they get me down in bed . Does anyone know the best over the counter homonal migraine medicine? I cannot take immetrix I am allergic too it. I now will only take over the counter stuff. I am not sure wether ibuprofen is best or a combination of aspirin and tylenol together. What do you think?
Avatar f tn No migraines aren't normal. Headaches sure, but strong migraines that last for hours and don't go away when you take tylenol (tylenol and nothing else! Advil and ibuprofen are bad for baby) are something that you should let your doctor know about. Don't stress, if a migraine is your only symptom then everything is probably perfectly fine, but migraines can be early symptoms for things like hypertension or preeclampsia.
Avatar m tn This is new to me, i have never had migraines. I am looking for some help or advice here. What is my next step? Should i wait it out a few more days? Keep popping the ibuprofen? Try something else? Go to the hospital? Any advice is appriciated, and if you have any more questions for me please ask.
Avatar m tn I was wondering. Do Migraines usually stay in one area? I've been have headaches for a while, (and they always make me nervous because i am a bit of a hypochondriac.) But it seems now when ever i have a headache it is always on my left side right in the middle over my eye. I woke up with one today and was wondering if in fact this is a migraine? I've had like little achy small headaches leading up to today. Also was wondering if that is pretty normal of migraine sufferer's.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone - question - did any of you avoid taking ibuprofen (advil) between ovulation and when AF should arrive? I suffer from a lot of headaches and migraines and ibuprofen has always worked so well for my headaches. Tylenol hardly helps at all. Anyway, I've been finding it difficult during the 2ww. Should I be avoiding ibuprofen during that time?
Avatar f tn Paracetamol is ok...just dont touch ibuprofen!
Avatar n tn hang in there. it is ok to take 400-600 mgs of ibuprofen and it does work...of course if you cant take ibuprofen, tylenol may help also... hang in there and take some advil lay down and just relax for a bit...it does help... if you ever have any questions about sub, just send me a message, ok? take care and good luck!
543518 tn?1245322027 The NP told me to mix up the acetaminaphen and ibuprofen (not together) for different days when I need something for fever, aches, etc. But what about asprin? What impact does that have on the hep c/liver, etc.?? I'm doing my best not to take anything, however...it is very difficult when one is uncomfortable. Third shot is on Tuesday.
Avatar f tn It does not sound like it because most people with migraines are taking migraine meds, not tylenol or ibuprofen. So I guess if I was you I would see a neurologist (on an urgent basis) to get a definite diagnosis and let him/her prescribe an appropriate med. (This is if you have not seen a neurologist in the past concerning migraines.) The neurologist will do tests and scans to be sure that the headaches are not being caused by something else.
1415174 tn?1453243103 I am on clonazepam for my migraines, and they only give me Tylenol and Ibuprofen plus a muscle relaxer for 10 days. I have been taking 10 mg Amitriptyline for 7 years (also for migraine) but they have tried to increase that. I really need help with the pain in order to get moving again. Any suggestions?
Avatar m tn For about a month I've had this painful throbbing sensation in my head that feels like it's behind my left eye near my upper nose. The sensation comes and goes day by day but sometimes the throbbing gets very painful and I get migraines that I can feel are from that area, it happens several time a week now. When I shake my head I can sometimes feel pressure in the area. Recently I've begun to feel this sensation in other parts of my head and I'm getting worried.
Avatar n tn I have been having migraines for the last 5 to 6 years and i want to know what i can do about them i get them more and more. I have a migraine atleast 7 times a month. I have no idea what to do about them and i hope that someone can answer my question?
Avatar n tn My 14 year old has had a low background headache for 12 weeks (all the time) with sharper pains occurring several times a day, also feeling of pressure at sides of his head developing suddenly and then slowly improving, he has had episodes of blurred vision, dizziness, aversion to lights, nausea. However coordination and balance seem fine, eating and sleeping well. MRI report is normal. Any ideas?
Avatar f tn yes, acetaminophen only! no ibuprofen!
Avatar m tn I've never been addicted to pills of any kind but was taking them daily prescribed to me by my doctor. I hope this helps you in some way... I had an accident just over two years ago that left me with a minor back injury. I had just enough pain to take a little Ibuprofen every day. After a few months I started getting migraines again (hadn't had one in over 3 years) and the back pain got worse. The doctor increased my daily dose of Ibuprofen...
Avatar f tn My Dr let me take ibprofen till I was 15 weeks but after that can really cause the baby problems it cuts the supply of oxygen and blood to the baby
1323278 tn?1298122488 Does anybody suffer from daily headaches/migraines, or weird pressure-like sensation in the head/neck? I had this for about a year when I suffered my first undiagnosed attack about 12 years ago, and I've had it for 10 months already since my optic neuritis in April. What do you do to treat it? It doesn't prevent me from carrying out with my daily life... but God, it's annoying. Really annoying.
Avatar f tn So I've been getting migraines since like 8th grade and now I'm 9 wks and I usually take extra strength ibuprofen or excedrin migraine.....I had a debilitating migraine last night. Took the Tylenol and it only got worse. I was a hot mess in the bed until now at 5am. Smh.... what are some remedies I can try next time? omg I really thought my head was going to explode or something..
Avatar f tn This pain continued until the Ibuprofen no longer helped and I went to the emergency clinic for help. They diagnosed me with a cervical sprain and prescribed me Cyclobenzaprine and Tylenol-Codeine as well as applied a muscle relaxant shot and sent me on my way. I started the prescription regimen that day. Two days later, I began to lose hearing in my right ear. It felt as though it was "full" of water or wax or the like.
Avatar f tn When I first saw this, I thought about my aunt. She dealt with migraines for a long time before figuring out that she was allergic to corn products. The other possible 'allergy' I had thought of was what meniere135 mentioned, gluten or possibly just wheat. I have fibromyalgia and headaches as well. I went on a gluten-free, cassein-free (GFCF) diet because my kids and husband have autism spectrum disorder issues and I thought it might help them.
Avatar f tn I have been suffering from headaches and migraines for almost a month now i have taken ibprophin 800mg i have drank sodas tea and ate stuff with caffine and nothing is working can anyone tell me whats up and any info on what i can take.
Avatar f tn Two completely different compounds. Tylenol, or acetaminophen has been deemed safe during pregnancy, ibuprofen, or Advil has NOT. As for aspirin, that's correct, it's a blood thinner.
Avatar f tn I always like to try holistic remedies before I head for the medicine cabinet. Try laying down in a dark room with a cool, damp rag on your forehead and neck. If its not enough, try adding an icepack on top. Its the only thing that helped my pounding headaches.
Avatar f tn I was also shortly on a low dose of Elavil for migraines. Carefull with that one, take only the amount prescribed. That one I found to have the least amount of side effects out of all the antidepressants-tricyclis, but can be sedating as well.
Avatar f tn the thing I would be more concerned about is rebound headaches since it contains ibuprofen. Triptans are currently the first-line of treatment for migraine headaches as opposed to NSAIDS such as ibuprofen, as ibuprofen can cause rebound migraine headaches. So I usually suggest that if possible, people avoid over-the-counter medications and stick with migraine medications such as triptans.
Avatar n tn I know there are preventative medications out there for migraines, however, I don't think my migraines are severe enough to warrant that approach. Like I said in the post, usually they're just headaches that are painful enough to be an annoyance, not severe enough for me to not be able to go on with daily activities. I have been taking Zomig 2.5mg which is a serotonin agonist.
Avatar f tn I have had 2x incidents that landed me in the ER in a month with stroke like syptoms, At first I was told that it was a TIA then after the second incident was told I suffered from compliacted migraines. I am 43 yrs old with no hx of migraines. My symptoms are sudden onset and the headache seems to come on after the stroke like sypmtoms have started but last for days after. I am not a Dr hopper - I go to the Dr 2x a year - my physical & to get a refill on situational depression meds.
