ibuprofen

Avatar m tn chronic epididymitis without a specific known cause (like an injury or an infection). What has been working for me recently, and like magic, is taking a lot of ibuprofen several times a day even when I have no pain-- it is working.
Avatar m tn I got chlamydia from having sex with a girl I used to hang out with. I didn’t get seen for it soon enough and it elevated into epididymitis. I finally was seen for it and then I got rid of the chlamydia but the epididymitis looked like it was still there. And then all of a sudden it just went away. So, as far as I know, that means the doctors took care of it. The swelling and pain, associated with the epididymitis that I had, went away. And then the problem that I now have shows up.
Avatar m tn About a week or so ago I started having a dull pain in the top of my testicular tube. After doing LOTS of research and checking for any abnormal lumps etc I've come to the conclusion that I have epididymitis. I noticed it started happening after i slept a few days in a row while wearing boxers and jeans and the boxers kept riding up so every morning i'd be uncomfortable in the testicles but I just thought it was because i didn't take off my jeans and my boxers rode up..
Avatar n tn My husband was told he has epididymitis. He has been experiencing a lot of pain in his left testicle for 3 months now and has been to his GP and a urologist. He has been on antibiotics as well as ibuprofen but the pain isn't going away. How long can it take for the epididymitis to completely clear up? Or is he stuck with this forever.

Avatar f tn //www.webmd.com/men/what-is-epididymitis#1. It is not uncommon. There should be no reason why you can't exercise while taking antibiotics as long as you are comfortable enough to do so. You can always check in with your doctor and I would go slow getting back to it and stop if anything causes pain. You can also take an over the counter anti inflammatory for pain and swelling (such as ibuprofen). We wish you the best.
Avatar m tn Hi, It is possible that you have developed epididymitis. This is an inflammation of the epididymis, which is the coiled tube you can feel at the top of the testes. Epididymitis can occur in response to bacterial or viral infection, trauma, or chemical insults. It would be best to have an evaluation done and start a course of antibiotics that can help clear up any infection, if present.
Avatar f tn I was told a little over a year ago that I was diagnosed with epididymitis and was told that after a while it was just go away by a general practitioner. I can function normally on everyday basis and I feel fine down there for the most part, but when I do anything like masturbating, it hurts afterwards and I don’t know what to do. I take ibuprofen to make it feel better and it works, but I’m honestly sick of happening and need some guidance on how to fix this reoccuring problem.
Avatar n tn Hello, Testicular pain can be due to injury, infection (Epididymitis or Orchitis) or inflammation, testicular torsion( most common in young men), excessive bicycle riding, hernia, varicocele or kidney or ureteric stones. Since you are having testicular swelling as well as pain, so it can be epididymitis or orchitis. In cases of hernia, a prominent bulge along with testicular pain is there and in cases of kidney or ureteric stones, pain during micturition may also be there.

Avatar n tn An ultrasound was done and there was no signs of torsion, cancer or epididymitis. Blood work and urine was unremarkable. Physical exam showed tenderness but no swelling. I was given cipro 500mg twice daily for 10 days but had a bad rxn,so instead to bactrim ds 2/day for 10days. I experienced some relief around day 8 but the pain came back ~5 days later. Prescribed Doxy 100mg 2/day for 14 days and around day 7 I went to the ER again with pain, this time in both testicles.

Avatar m tn Greetings and I thank you in advance for any help anyone can offer. I am a 45 yr old male who foolishly, on March 24, received unprotected oral sex to completion from a stripper. On April 19, I began to feel heaviness and an uncomfortable feeling in my scrotum. I chalked it up to over exertion as I had carried heavy items to my car from long distances and had worked out as well. Upon waking I noticed my left testicle was swollen, painful and warm to the touch.
Avatar m tn I saw a urologist for discomfort I was facing from my testes. I thought it might have been from weight-lifting or ab workouts. She ordered a Ultra-sound and a Urine analysis. Urine analysis showed no problems. Ultra-sound showed that on the right testes there is epididymitis. In addition, both testes had an increased blood flow which the doctor says is orchitis. The past couple days I have not felt the discomfort. I told that to the doctor.
Avatar n tn Two days later I started getting mild pain in my testicle, and this is continuing for several months affecting my day to day life. Other than diagnosed for epididymitis (though there is no visible swelling seen from outside), I was cleared on all the STD tests and no bacterias found. When I posted a similar question asking whether genital skin-to-skin contact can cause epididymitis in STD forums, I got a response saying it is not possible.
Avatar m tn Again i went to GP he asked to have a Scortum scan i did and it was normal now GP gave me some pain killers(he gave me for 5 days i am now at 4th day) he says nothing to worry but i am worried.

Avatar n tn Hi, I'm a 24 year old Male, I was diagnosed with acute epididymitis about 3 weeks ago and began taking antibiotics. The week before my swelling arose, I was very constipated for about 6 days and was hardly able to pass any stools. I have several questions about my condition, recovery time, and swelling. My Epididymis is still slightly swollen and hardened almost, it is not very painful however I sometimes have a very acute pain. My Vas Deferans (sp?
Avatar m tn I made an appointment with the urologist (1st post) 3 days after finishing cipro (a month ago) and he came in the room, did very fast exam, said use Ice and ibuprofen. he completely blew me off. He said it will take 1-2 months for swelling and pain to go away and to deal with it. I also have a physically demanding job, so that causes significant pain.
Avatar n tn I have been diagnosed with epdidymitis, octilis (sp), and prostatis. The doctor said my prostate felt a little infected. I've noticed some obvious red spots in my stool the last couple of times. Blood? Simutaneously, my left scrotum is sore and swollen for 1.5 weeks. I've been treating it with ice, ibuprofen, levaquin, and loratab for several days. Not really sure if the medicine's working after 3 days. May not be enough time. 38 years old, active, good shape.
Avatar n tn For the past week I have had a pain in my left testicle when I ejaculate. The past three days the pain is not as bad as it was six days ago. I have no pain in my left testicle before or after I ejaculate and I have no pain when I touch it. I only feel a little pain when Im ready to ejaculate. I noticed this problem the day after I squeezed my penis to prevent myself from ejaculating. Do you think I strained something and it will go away if I rest it, or take an ibprofin?
Avatar m tn Hello, for two weeks now I've had this severe pain in my testicle. Until now everything didnt work, but now the pain is gone because I masturbated for the first time in like a month or so. My semen came out white but also a big spot of brown and red was in it. I've tried more times and they've all come out white so far, and the pain is gone. Should I be worried? what makes it turn that color?
Avatar m tn I had a vasectomy last week on Wednesday. All was well until Friday night (2.5 days later) when the right side of the scrotum "insides" swelled more than 2x. There is a bit more than moderate pain (i.e. not excruciating). By Monday evening it seemed to worsen but could have been since I returned to work that day and was up more. I had spent Wed - Sunday with very very little activity.
