Avatar f tn It is okay to have dental work just no nitrous. I am a dental assistant but it is okay to have dental work. Ibuprofen is okay up until 23 weeks. Confkirm w your ob dr if you are high risk.
Avatar n tn Amoxacillin is used to treat infections caused by bacteria. Swollen cheeks due to dental surgery has nothing to do with that. Stick with a more generic pain killer...like ibuprofen.
Avatar f tn If there’s an infection, pain medication won’t make that go away and it could spread to cause more problems. That said, over-the-counter pain medications such as ibuprofen, acetaminophen, or aspirin can all reduce the pain, but none of these treats the cause. If these medications are not working for then pain, this is another sign that an infection may be present.
Avatar f tn my teeth and causing me so much pain. I have a oral pain relief anesthetic liquid, is it safe for me to use it? It doesn't say anywhere on the label about being pregnant. I'm just trying to not take as much acetaminophen pills as I can, if any.
724811 tn?1291430786 The pain is getting worse. Is anyone out there on Memorial Day? I need some help here!!!
Avatar f tn 00 before bed, I hurt more than earlier and took some more ibuprofen. It's looking like every 6-8 hours I'll be popping ibuprofen, I'm assuming its from all the novicane they had to use an the tooth being messed with. I figured I'd call the dentist tomorrow afternoon if it doesn't settle down.
Avatar n tn The cavity and pain will only get worse. Until then some sort of pain reliever (asprin, ibuprofen) may relieve some of the discomfort, but ultimately, you will have to seek dental care.
Avatar n tn t find anything wrong with the tooth filled or any abscess..so she gave me antibiotic-amoxicillin and took 200mg of Ibuprofen for pain. But after 3 days, I had a bad reaction to Amoxicillin. Went to a medical Doctor and I told her what happened, had an x-ray again and gave me a shot for inflammatory..and gave me a new antibiotic- azithromycin and a 600 mg ibuprofen every after 6 hours. But 2 days after, i have face swelling so i thought 600mg of ibuprofen is too much so I went back to 200mg..
Avatar n tn A new one it is now been made. The implant seemed solid but I am in pain since I had the crown removed. The pain seems to be around the gum surrounding the implant but irradiates to all the right maxillary. The pain goes away with ibuprofen (600 mg) but I would not like to stay forever on this medication and I wonder if you could give me any advice. Thanks in advance for any input.
Avatar f tn First of all, I do not smoke marijuana... Recently I had a drug test for a new job, and it tested positive for marijuana. I'm confused, pissed off, and left wondering how the hell this happened. After looking up random posts on various websites, I learned that ibuprofen could have messed with the results. Before you call shenanigans, let me make note that I take around 3,000 mg of ibuprofen daily. I am a poor boy from a poor family, and can't afford dental care.
Avatar f tn Thank you so much for your answers! Before I did the crown I had a full exam with x-rays and such. I thought it would be known if I needed RC done. Am I wrong? Yes, I do take other painkillers. I was taking the one that I was prescribed, but I was so drowsy after it, that I started changing between ibuprofen & advil . They help for a longer time, up to 6 hours, while the prescribed ones were good for 3-4 hours. That *****!
Avatar f tn Very toxic for cats.....
Avatar m tn As far as post extraction pain control - that will be up to the dentist - some will tell you to only take over the counter meds such as tylenol or ibuprofen for pain and others will sometimes prescribe a short round of narcotic type pain meds. A lot of it depends on how involved the extraction is and what other work has to be done. Feel free to talk to your dentist prior to the extraction and ask him what his plans for post extraction pain control are.
Avatar n tn I am unable to relieve this pain with traditional pain meds (aleve, ibuprofen). I am unable to see the dentist until next week. Is there anything, preferably a natural remedy, that can help until I get to the dentist? He suggested that I go to the ER, but I feel they will give me an antibiotic (which I have) and prescribe pain meds, which I really don't want to take. Please help.
Avatar n tn Nothing worse than dental pain. I will take your advise. Again, thanks for taking the time to respond.
Avatar f tn I had a crown procedure 3 weeks ago today on my very last bottom tooth and am still suffering from incredible pain in my ear and jaw. I have been to urgent care and returned to the dentist. She performed an xray and said the tooth is fine. I was first given Valium and Aleve for relief. The relief from this treatment last about 1 hour and the severe pain returned. I was then put on flexoril which takes the "edge" off for a couple of hours.
Avatar n tn Thanks for the advice. I am still in agony. No blood clot present over tooth. Taken Amoxycillian for 5 days so far 1500mg per day. Painkillers Ibuprofen dont work. coedine takes the edge off it slightly. At least I think I know what the cause is now and I've read up on it, so will ask dentist if he can pack the tooth to give me some relief and cure the problem. Jaw is now yellow with bruising and jaw and ear pain really severe. Worst pain I've been in.
Avatar n tn Many seem to be age specific and are related to a variety of dental needs or treatments we are undergoing. Ibuprofen is a common pain reliever that works OK, but in some situations we need a pain reliever that can be used in a specific location. Depending upon the severity of the symptom and the longevity of enduring it, many of these products produce superb symptom relief.
Avatar f tn s alright with your doctor- be sure and ask you cardiologist, take 600 mg of ibuprofen for inflammation when the pain is extra bad, but cyclic would likely be a bad idea (without even asking your doctor) right now with your heart problem, as ibuprofen can increase risk of heart attack, I believe. Alternatively, try a couple extra strength tylenol over the counter medication when the pain is bad.
Avatar m tn He checked the bite, probed, and took x-rays and did not see anything concerning. He suggested warm compresses and ibuprofen. The pain continues and actually the tooth sensitivity has worsened over the last day or so. Ibuprofen does help but the fact that nothing is getting better is my main concern. I should add that another concern (and one that may be a factor here) is that I grind my teeth.
Avatar m tn ve had pain off-n-on the last couple days--nothing terrible just an annoying pain. I can usually take 1 ibuprofen and it goes away, no worries...I forget about it (usually end up taking 2-3 per day). Hot/cold beverages don't seem to bother it, and I've tested the area by chewing soft foods and don't feel much either. I can also brush with no sensitivity, too. If the dentist did just aggravate it during the prep work, how long will this persist?
Avatar f tn In the meantime you can take OTC pain medication Ibuprofen. Ensure to take this medication after food to avoid gastritis. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
