977540 tn?1248378757 For 3 to 4 weeks now I have pain and tenderness in my upper back and when I breathe it hurts. I too am sore and tender when I touch the areas in my back. I went to the doctor and he put me on the Medrol 6 day dosage which is a steroid. It worked for 6 days and then came back and then the doctor put me on 2400mg a day of Ibuprofen which has not worked. I am going to my Oncologist tomorrow for my 6 month check up and will ask him. I also have very bad muscle spasms the past 6 months.
Avatar m tn Can Kidney pain be a side effect of taking Ibuprofen? I was taking ibuprofen last week consecutively for 3 days (400mg t.i.d) after laser eye surgery. A day or so after starting it I experienced mild pain/discomfort in my left flank that came in waves. When I stopped taking the ibuprofen the flank pain also stopped. The next day I took one more dose - the flank pain started again within an hour, but was gone the next day.
Avatar n tn Ibuprofen is a bloodthinner. They say you arent supposed to take it...only tylenol. Because when you are pregnant the volume of blood in your body increases by 50%. If you were to have an accident, go into preterm labor, etc...you could bleed out and hemmorage. Causing lots of problems!
Avatar m tn So far in my experience, Deramax has been the best non-steroidal anti-inflammatory for pain in dogs - particularly for arthritis pain. Rimadyl is a close second and fairly cheap since it's been on the market for years. What kind of pain is your dog experiencing?
Avatar n tn I have also have my pain that comes and goes in the back of my thigh when I stand. Also have experienced right and left calf pain and twitching/muscle spasms in my right leg. I just had an ultrasound on my leg that came back normal, but could it still be a blood clot? My doctor told me to take ibuprofen and follow up with her in a month even though I told her its getting worse. What else could this be?
1148241 tn?1294052796 I recently quit taking Vicodin for my joint pain because I was concerned about liver damage. I have been taking Ibuprofen instead. I've been taking two in the morning and then two in the afternoon. It says don't take longer than 10 days though. I have to take something though. My knees and wrists and fingers hurt too much if I don't. I know you guys aren't Drs but experience counts for something if its what your Dr has told you. What do you guys take?
1227909 tn?1267853479 ve been taking 800mg tabs as needed for my back pain but he suggests not using Ibuprofen but instead take the pain meds. Pain at it's worse can cause stress. Stress weakens the immune system. Ask your Gastro... If your insurance covers it, get an MRI. Hot and ice packs help but they are just a temporary fix. They just camouflage the problem. You want to fix the problem. Could be something simple. Again, the MRI tells all... Good luck...
Avatar m tn My pain is not a pain for tylenol or ibuprofen. I need something stronger for this kind of pain. I need analgesic and antiflamattories.
1158557 tn?1262725929 Try not to feed into it and use a heating pad in that area and it will help. Ibuprofen works really well for back pain. Your doing great. This shouldn't last to much longer. Hang in there buddy!!!!
Avatar m tn I have been taking maximum daily dosage of generic ibuprofen (3200 mg a day, usually 1600mg at a time). I also take 600mg etodolac, 400 in the am and 200 in the pm. I have been having kidney pain on both sides, and excessive sweating. Could this be from taking too much NSAID medication?
600857 tn?1230057770 m in pain, taking pain meds(percocet, ibuprofen and nuerontin) could the increase be causing this, or the abscense of Valium? I'm taking my meds every 6-8 hrs and I can't sleep.

1069860 tn?1255269878 I am 26 yo female. In 2002 I injured my back working in nursing home. I was on worker's comp and was given medication and physical therapy. When it seemed the pain was gone I didn't file anymore worker's comp. I had my daughter in 2007 and ever since then I have back pain every day. Sometimes it is in my lower back, sometimes my middle back, sometimes all over my body.

Avatar m tn I noticed a back pain after exposure to cold some days ago and it seriously pains me when I shift positions during sleep as I've ended up loosing my sleep 2 days in a row. Took ibuprofen yesterday and it eased but has returned and also drinking hot tea. What is wrong with me and what can I do - no history of such before!!
Avatar f tn Hi, Are you taking any pain medications just to alleviate the pain while waiting for the sceduled scan? The CT scan will be able to guide your physician in terms of management. An infection and adhesions secondary to previous surgery and instrumentation need to be ruled out. Take this one step at a time. I know this may be very discomforting. You may discuss with your physician pain management issues while tests are being done.
Avatar f tn Okay, I KNOW that I remember being told by the liver doctor who performed my biopsy that if I do need to take a pain reliever that I should take Tylenol. My OB/GYN doctor just told me to take Advil for cramps because it isn't metabolized in the liver. I rarely take anything, but if I do, which is less risky? Liver biopsy one year ago found no significant tissue scarring. My recent ALT enzyme levels are slightly lower than before, 61. My other enzyme levels are normal.
Avatar f tn If the anti-inflamitory aspect of the ibuprofen helps, then it probably is sciatica, and you can use ibuprofen (within reason) for most of the pain, and only use the tramadol when the pain gets intollerable.
Business man2 1) At my age 69.5 and a daily dosage of 4 ibuprofen OR 3 naproxen, do I have to worry about kidney disease resulting from a "total lifetime dose" of ibuprofen/naproxen ?? 2) At recommended dosage and over a lifetime, does acetaminaphen have less potential to harm me than either ibuprofen or napproxen? 3) Is there a "total lifetime dose" concern for acetaminaphen? Thank you for answering questions in this forum !!

4722421 tn?1360708571 I recently had 2 spinal fusion and feel a lot of residual nerve pain in the groin/glut area and some down the back of the leg. Been taking Ibuprofen (2 tablets of 200 mg) in the morning ...around late afternoon... if needed before I sleep. 6 tablet total for the day. I used to take 3 tablets when I went for runs that were over 6 miles but that was all I took in one day... every 3 days or so, no problem.
Avatar m tn I did not know what it could have been until I started to have a lower back pain. I am prone to UTIs and figured I had the classic sign. I went to the ER and was given Macrobid, but that still did not work. I then was given Cipro last week, and I am still finishing up the medicine. The cramps are somewhat subsiding, and so is the lower back pain. I have been taking AZO Tablets an ibuprofen along with the Cipro The Dr does not suspect any of these symptoms to be related to a trich infection.
Avatar f tn Yes I've had bck labor with my 2 previous pregnancies and now again.. its very sore and sometimes the pain in my bck is unbareable to the point where I just cry because you cant really do anything about it.. my doctor told me that I could take ibuprofen at a low dosage but that ain't gonna work.. laying down on ur side with a pillow in between ur legs help a lot..
