Avatar m tn I take Synthroid for hypothyroidism, and I was diagnosed with osteoporosis, I have tried several times to take calcium supplements within the guidelines when taking Synthroid, (more than 4 hours before or after taking med), and I become almost immediately exhausted, and sleep for 8-12 hours. I take only about 250 mgs of calcium, and vitamin D as well.

In fact, I just posted for information about that a week or so ago and was given a couple of good sites. Here's the post: http://www.medhelp.

Avatar f tn Osteoporosis is the thinning of bone tissue and loss of bone density over time. If you do not get enough calcium, or if your body does not absorb enough calcium from the diet, bone production and bone tissues may suffer. As you age, calcium and phosphate may be reabsorbed back into the body from the bones, which makes the bone tissue weaker. And this happens with the bones of your entire body.

I was diagnosed with osteoporosis 2 years ago with Dexascan results having Z-scores slightly below -2.5. Avatar f tn If you have more advanced liver disease, sometimes the doctor will steer you away from NSAIDS like ibuprofen and Naproxen; they tend to affect your blood’s ability to clot, something that might already be a problem with later stages of liver disease. I agree that Tylenol (acetaminophen) is the most widely recommended analgesic for HCV patients. Taken in recommended doses, it shouldn’t present a problem.
1485696 tn?1312405527 My doctor had a bone density scan done and it showed early signs of osteopenia, not unusual for my age and for being postmenepausal. One year later, I was diagnosed with MS. Started on Copaxon, and seem to be keeping it at bay. Now, at 52, I suffered a pathological fracture of my sacrum, lifting a patient during my occupation as a paramedic. I should also mention that I have grade B spondilitis in my back at L5 and S1.

Avatar f tn I took tylenol this morning. I took Ibuprofen an hour ago . I coudnnt take it anymore. It was a one time thing and i feel so much better. Will my baby be okay?
Avatar m tn whenever i take even one 550mg (naproxen) ibuprofen and then drink, my stomach gets tender and bloated and i feel bad. i usually take a maalox or something like that, yet i never throw up from it so i don't know if that's applicable for you. i think it is due to the ibuprofen, but if you're not used to eating spicy foods then it could have disagreed with you, not necessarily meaning food poisoning. you should never drink and take NSAIDs at the same time.
3122657 tn?1357432602 Ibuprofen is bad for our livers. Try getting a massage if you can. Bromelian, a natural supplement made from pineapples helps reduce swelling but it takes time to work. Also, make sure you're drinking lots of water, and getting some exercise. Try some yoga too. Pot brownies worked the best for my back pain.
