Ibuprofen and lortab

Common Questions and Answers about Ibuprofen and lortab

ibuprofen

Avatar n tn Becareful on how much ibuprofen you take. It can cause stomach issues such as a stomach ulcer. 800mg is quite a bit. With the lortab, make sure you are following your doctors orders. You can take the two together. If your pain is not being managed, let your doctor know. My medicine has caused me stomach issues and right now I can't take any ibuprofen, aspirin and other medications due to being on oral medicine for the last 5 years.
Avatar f tn My last episode was two years ago. I was given a prescript for antibiotic and Lortab. The stone passed and I hadn't used all of my meds so I saved them in case I began to pass another one. It has been two years and i have, once again been trying to pass a kidney stone. Sunday, the pain got really excruciating, so I took ten ibuprofin...to no avail. I went ahead and took out my old script of antibiotics and Lortab and took one of each that evening, about five pm.

Avatar n tn Also you can get hydro with ibuprofen and it will help better than the hydro with tylenol maybe you could ask your Dr about this. I hope your feeling better very soon!
Avatar m tn Welcome to the forum---- I think the more important question is whether you really need the additional pain relief or or just wanting the effect of the additional Opiate. If you can withstand the pain by just taking your normal dose of Methadone, then don't take the Lortabs. Hope you will stay and post and read this site -- should you ever decide to come off of the Methadone, this is a great place to find help. All the best.
Avatar f tn I am seeing a new dr this am, a female, who is closer to my age and hopefully will have some empathy. I think, IMHO, that 400-600 mgs of Ibuprofen and 1/2 of a Lortab or even a whole Lortab, and I am pain free...opioids have their place! As I said, this first doc would not (actually, could not) prescribe much of anything. Also he is barely 30, and when I was 30, I was invincible, too. I'm not comfortable taking that level of Ibuprofen/Tylenol on a daily basis.
Avatar m tn Believe it or not,,tylenol wd can also b a factor with Lortab wd, Lortab has 500 mgs of tylenol per tab be it 5, 7.5 or 10 mg of hydrocodone. Tylenol is bad for the liver, but so are all pain relievers OTC. Try some tylenol...and wait it out...10 mths is not a long time specially if u were using as prescribed....
Avatar f tn Reason why I was on the Lortab was due to my limited mobility and my tailbone injury. I sit alot, so I hurt alot. In case mid-flight the pain gets so bad I want to have something with me for the pain that I can feel confident in. Not going to bring the Lortab as I refuse to take that type of drug ever again. Any suggestions I could discuss with my doctor? Taking the kids for spring break and dont want to spend the entire vacation laying in bed because I hurt.
8475475 tn?1403476630 After my c section I was given ibuprofen and oxycodon.
Avatar m tn I have been out of tx for about a month and this week have developed back pain to the extent that it is waking me up at night. I have a past history of back problems but have not had back pain for a long time previous to treatment. I am curious, how common is this? If others have experienced this problem, what have you done, are are you doing?
Avatar f tn Did you feel a great deal more pain when you decreased the dose, or was it tolerable? And as long as you can tolerate them, ibuprofen and naproxen (Aleve) are very good anti-inflammatory meds (there are also precription anti-inflammatories.) Make your doctor a partner in your plans---I am sure they will be delighted to see you drop your dosage down if you are still comfortable. Just go slow and pay careful attention to what your body is saying. I wish you all the best!
Avatar f tn Maybe I am fooling myself but when I said I did also use lortab for a mood elevation, but I really do have chronic hip and lower back pain. The lortab made that manageable and I could be very physically active. This is day 13 of no lortab and it makes me feel very good about myself. Here comes the rub. With each passing day I am sitting on the ice packs more and more. Moaning when I move and getting worn out by noon from the constant pain. This is pain that I would say is a 7.
611067 tn?1458591483 One of the reasons that I had to use Lortab for my pain when I had the rotator cuff problem and the spinal problem was that years ago I had gastric bypass surgery. Well, we're not supposed to use NSAIDS for pain and tylenol does nothing for me. The reason is that my stomach is now just a pouch and does not have the gastric juices to protect the pouch. If use use Ibuprofen, Naproxin or Asprin for pain, it can cause ulcers or even a hole to form in the pouch.
699217 tn?1323438700 I'll do my best..... Here is the easiest way to look at it, (i think?) ... Percocet has tylenol in it, however, oxycodone and oxycontin are just straight percocet, no tylenol. I believe that oxycodone is the generic name for Roxicodone, which is also obviously percocet without the tylenol. Oxycontin and oxycodone are the same thing, EXCEPT oxycodone is a quick release tablet, and oxycontin is a slow release of the same med. Hydrocodone is the ingredient in Vicodin and Lortab.
Avatar f tn I've been taking hydrocodone/Lortab and tramadol for about 5-6 years, all doctor-prescribed for chronic pain. I've never taken more than prescribed over the life of each refill, although I sometimes take extra on worse days and less on others to make up for it. After doing some research about the w/d symptoms, I wonder how much of my chronic pain is due to fibromyalgia and psoriatic arthritis, and how much is due to w/d symptoms?
1720423 tn?1390185068 Not to mention the fact that my right leg is about twice the size of my left! Tried the ibuprofen with little relief. So I caved and took 1 5/500 with an extra strength Tylenol. I feel like a failure! I hope I'm not going to go through wd's again. But I did make it almost 17 hours w/out, so I'm going to try to keep pushing through the pain without taking anymore. i have to go see the ortho doc tomorrow, hopefully I wont need surgery. that will totally blow! *sigh* by the way...
Avatar f tn The headaches are common and will go away. I used to use a warm washcloth on my forehead.
Avatar f tn Now, 7 months later, I still find that I need some Lortab along with Ibuprofen to make the day livable. I can get by easily on 4, 5mg Lortab a day. Occasionally, I will take an extra, or cut one in half to make a 7.5 dose, but I am being treated like a street junkie by the clinic. I saw a pain management dr (took my mom and just asked him this question) was I a candidiate for his services.. and he said "That's hardly anything".
Avatar f tn I wouldn't use Tramadol at all. I would try natural supplements or even motrin or ibuprofen. You don't want to trade one pill for another and that essentially would be what would happen. Tramadol is highly addictive and for an addict would not be a very good thing. How many lortabs were you taking a day and for how long???
Avatar n tn Mobic is an NSAID pain reliever (same class of drugs as ibuprofen, motrin, aleve) and not a narcotic so the addiction potential is very very low. You should be fine as long as you have no stomach issues as NSAIDS tend to aggravate those symptoms or if taken in excess, create stomach problems. Good luck to you! I think the Mobic is a much better alternative to pain management than any narcotic.
Avatar n tn For about 2 weeks back in May I was taking 7.5/500 Lortab for a back injury. I was taking 2 every 4 hours. As my back began to feel better I began taking less and at this point I find I only have to take them occassionally. Once in a while I'll take 1/2 a pill if my back is bothering me but the other day I took 1 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon as my back was hurting more than usual. Then yesterday, I didn't take any because my back wasn't hurting very much.
Avatar f tn I have a very painful knee. I get the lortab for the knee, and then, of course, along comes the abuse. And PM me back anytime, also!
Avatar f tn For example, Vicodin can be 5mg of hydro and 500mg of tylenol as can Lortab. Or Vicodin can be 10mg of hydro and 325 mg of tylenol and so can Lortab. So they only way one will be stronger than the other as if the Vicodin was 5/500 and the Lortab is 10/325. I hope I have been clear in anwsering your question. If I haven't been please let me know.
Avatar f tn The worst pain is over, but this residual stuff just keeps me from living my life. I do also take a lot of ibuprofen and my guts are raw from that....I find it weird that drs will let you get ulcers from ibuprofen (which helps, but never truly relieves me) but will hold back on the "good stuff". My question? Is 4 doses of 5 mg hydrocodone day going to seriously impair me? I feel like a junkie going back to my GP. Should I be seeing a pain management dr?
Avatar n tn Melatonin helped with the sleeping (OTC), and Ibuprofen. I also got some Klonopin for the anxiety and it helped some - but it was only for any anxiety that broke through which wasn't much. Hot showers for the muscle aches or icy hot as orange said - I used the patches myself. Sometimes I would just stand under the hot (as in turns your skin red) shower for what felt like an hour and just let it run over me. Really helped.
Avatar f tn can you take lortab with clomid?my foot doc put me on lortab and my obgyn put me on clomid will lortab mess with clomid are will clomid still work?
Avatar f tn I was given a rx for lortab 10 almost 2 years ago and was taking 2 a day. that progressed to 4 and so on. Now I am up to 10 a day and i just want to stop. My rx only lasts about 2 weeks then i am having to buy and we all know how expensive that is. I have a wonderful husband who is aware of my problem and supports me 100%, although he does not know the extent of how much money i have spent on these pills.
1700643 tn?1464846682 It's hydrocdone and ibuprofen, probably the ibuprofen making his stomach sick.
