( is it not healing right ? Or is it bruised idk :( i took 800 mg ibuprofen and it worked for a bit but not long. Haaaalp !!
Ibuprofen slows bone healing. That's why they gave you Vicodin. I remember taking Vicodin every 6 hours after foot surgery. For me, it was 6 hours on the dot when the pain returned. I'd use ice and try to sleep. Keeping inflammation down is important. There are a lot of nerves in the face, so that's why it would hurt so much.
What can I do for the sprain since we have to prioritize the break right now and I can’t do any exercises like you would usually right away for a sprain? I’m afraid the recovery from the sprain is going to be very difficult if I don’t re establish range of motion for 4-6 weeks that it needs to be immobilized.
Any thoughts?
m taking hydrocodone every 4-5 hours and ibuprofen every 6 hours, amoxicillin 3x/day and an oral mouth rinse 3x/day. He says everything looks like it's healing well, but I can't stand the pain! I go back again Thursday and he said he would give me something stronger if I"m still in pain. Has anyone else had any issues with this? I can't sleep, I can't talk long without pain, and I've been in bed most of the 5 days after surgery.
The label on my bottle says to not take the tenofovir with ibuprofen. However, I previously asked my doctor if ibuprofen (among many other question I had) would be okay to take alongside it occasionally --- and he said it was no problem.
Hmmm. What to believe? The label or the doctor? o_O
Any personal experience with the interaction of these two medications?
they use BMP-2 to do bone graft at the site #10 where the bad implant was taken out. They said to use BMP-2 could increase the speed of bone healing and don't need to harvest my own bone from other site.
the gum inflamation peaked on 8/31 , on 9/2, I saw doctor she checked the surgical area by looking, and said there is no infection. She then gave me anti-biotics and ibuprofen to reduce the bacteria level and treat the inflamation.
I went back on Friday (48 hours) for a follow up appointment and the doctor said everything was pink and healing nicely, he trimmed the end of the sutures and said to call if I had any problems or other questions.
I was proscribed amoxicilin, percocets and ibuprofen.
I am a smoker, but didn't smoke for the first two days, until I saw my doctor. After that, I had half of a cigarette (around the 50 hour mark), but haven't smoked since.
He had to have bone taken from his hip and grafted to a bone in his foot. This friend has previously been an occasional user of methamphetamine, and has not smoked since since the accident. He wants to do it once, but is trying to find out what the effects are (if any) of methamphetamine on healing bones. Any information you can share would be helpful.

I had 6 joints in foot fused, bone graft from heel, 2 plates, several screws and fused bones shortened due to deformity and was fine until stitches were taken out and cast put on. A day later my cast is feeling too tight but color of toes is good unless I put it down. Have kept my foot up and mostly above my heart and iced for last 4 days without much relief but situation has not gotten worse. Orthopedic doc said Advil is not good as it keeps bones from healing but I need to reduce swelling.
I have a ball like lump on my groin and hasn’t gone away, but the pain has gradually decreased. The pain used to go to my pelvic bone and stomach. I started training again and the pain and lump are still there but with not as much pain. I wanna know if its a hernia or if a pulled groin can also cause a lump or ball like in that area.
So far, they want to core out the affected bone, and take a piece of bone and cartilage from one of my knee regions so that they can transplant the bone from there to where the OCD was.
I was told that none of the surgeons in this whole group has never done this exact procedure.
I was told something about them being unable to reach the affected region and may have to break another bone in order to get to it.
On Wednesday I had 11 upper teeth extracted and bone grafts performed. 3 were almost surely surgical due to older root canals. A temporary denture was placed until the grafts have healed then I will get the permanent full denture. I'm wondering how long I can expect the pain to last. I was prescribed Vicodin and am using Ibuprofen also. I'm still unable (or unwilling) to chew due to the pain.
I haven't had them but you can look up manuka honey. It can and does speed the healing of wounds that I've used it on, usually 15+ or 20+ minimum. I'm not sure what the Dr said to put on it but depending on the level you get, it can be very effective.
Internally, bone broth can help your body a bunch with wound healing,can be purchased but homemade is best.
m wondering if I increase my activities at my gym, will this help or hurt the healing process? I use the treadmill and walk in the pool and ride the bike. Also try to do a hot tub for 15 minutes before bed. Any ideas would be much appreciated. I'm only 65 and am NOT ready for a rocking chair! I want my active lifestyle back and am willing to work for it.
just not sure if its healing or why its more sore...it comes and goes also...sometimes its very strong for awhile and sometimes its not quite as strong :( and its just the left side of my cheek which is where my gums were operated on? aghh its just so painful. inormally have a high pain tolerance too...except for now.
its been 2 months since my by pass operation went back last week to see the consultant i told him my breast bone is moveing all the time whatever iam doing ive no pain and no infection my job is a surveyor and he has told me not to work for 6 months and to come back and see him in 4 months if the bone is constantly moveing will it ever repair it self
